...of course, given what I've learned about Doctor Who of late, some might be okay with this.

Funny thing about that. It is cannon that he picked the name "Doctor" in English during his first Life as he helped deliver a human child.

Such a seemingly small thing is why he decided to go to Earth and eventually this lead him to protect it from the all the horrors which have tried to conquer or destroy the Human Race.

And like so many other things in Doctor Who it was promptly Never Mentioned Again.

they're kinda not wrong though, Eleven is the quickest to resort to violence of the new Doctors and shows Seven's manipulative nature at times when using companions or humans as weapons.

he's often held back on these violent tendencies by his companions (with the exception of the paternoster row gang, who would gladly help him hunt down a big bad).
