That's where Fibonacci comes from (man, I so couldn't wait for Fridays...). The number 9 obsession came from a country song the black guy sang in one segment about how the total of any number multiplied by 9 can be added until it equals nine (758*9=6822 -> 6+8+2+2=18 -> 1+8=9). I don't know why, but that shit was like magic to me (and coincidentally, in numerology, my number is 9, so...). Seriously, I used to find myself figuring out how to get the total nine from the numbers on license plates while driving places.
I think they were saying it's a satire of the modern dark gritty reboots we're seeing now. I had to stop after the first 3 minutes, but you can kind of see it in the shaky cam, firing into the air while running forward and looking back, gratuitous use of holographic interface, and cheesy dialogue - though the last one just might be because it's Power Rangers.
