Well, seems like some are interested. Not too sure how many I would get, but I suppose running it once to test won't hurt.
I need 3 judges. I myself will not judge and will simply compile and post scores, unless I get only 2. If I get only one... Well, I'll see that when it happens. First come first served. I'll announce the time it will start friday.
For any judge, here is what I ask for: the 5 scores on 20 (no need to change that) AND overall comments on the entry. Numbers are nice and all, but I'm sure words to explain your thoughts will be much appreciated. You have 24 hours after the deadline to send me your scores. If there's a big numebr of entries or something came up, it can be extended.
Break the limit for no reason and I will not only replace you right away, but all future applications for juding will be rejected. Because the scores being late piss off everyone and is one of the main reason for the takeover, there will be no second chance on this.

The theme will be posted at 8:00 AM Pacific time. For those bad with timezones, this is 4 hours earlier than Wata's starting time. It will last for 12 hours, ending on 8:00 PM Pacific time.
The judging will be the same as before: Readability, Theme, Details, Plot, Opinion.

It's friday, so tomorrow is Iron Fic time! Like last week, the time will be at 10AM EST and will last for 12 hours. If you live in a different timezone and are not sure about the time, just check the time I started the contest last week. It will be the same.

While the contest will be the same four hour rush to prove you're the best you know and <s>hate</s> love, I'd like to sound out a few ideas I've had about changes.
As you know, the judging process has never been any good for IF. I'm very seriously considering dumping the other judges and doing it all myself. This has several advantages and disadvantages. On the upside, if the scores aren't done in a timely manner, it's obvious who's at fault. On the downside, all the scores would be subject to my whims. Wait, why is that bad? Oh right, franchises I don't like I'd be biased against.
The other way to solve the problem is for people who agree to act as judges to actually judge. This is the preferred method, but given it's history I'm skeptical.
Another thing: original fiction is now banned. We had a few good original entries the last season, but it distracted from the fact that this is a fanfiction writing contest. All other fandoms are still open; just remember to keep it work-safe.
The last point I'd like to bring up is the start and end-times. I prefer to do it at 11AM Pacific Standard time, because that generally works for me. However, this is not a universally good time. I'm open to most other start times, but between 2AM and 7AM is generally not really a good time. Could probably work something out with someone else though...

That's because fatigue set in about when you started. Don't know if you noticed, but interest in doing the [metal] Fic contests peaks about July, which is when the other contests are introduced. Something I noticed these past two years: after people have choices, interest in all the contests declines until they all stop.
So you just got hit by people losing interest naturally, and as a result of the contests not being unique anymore. I'd suggest trying again this year, but that might start the process sooner. :huh.:

Yo, Watawata, I'm happy for you, and I'mma let you finish, but some of the original fics in the IF contests had the best writing of all time.

On a more coherent note, if you're going to ban original, then I'm thinking of restarting Lithium Chloride Fic exclusively for original work, a week later than IF so everyone has a refractory period. However, I'm well aware of what happened last year, so I'd like your opinion on there being two contests-- after all, you started it, you ought to be consulted. Anyone who'd like to chime in yay or nay would be helping too. *looks at the others pointedly*
