IRON FIC

Would've been nice to know about the added grace period with more time to go than 10 minutes before it ended... Meh. IF10, maybe, if it's not at an impossible time again.
I made the first reply to the IF9 prompt: "Extra time tomorrow". :p

But yeah, next week I'm doing another Midnight Run, probably with a similar grace period.

Announcement time.

Again.

Tonight's Iron Fic will be at 9:00p EST. Unfortunately, I can't make it any earlier--family thing.

If this doesn't work out for people, I'll reschedule for tomorrow. Make sure to suggest EST times that work.

Maybe just give out the fic at midnight, and start a full four-hour grace period 8 AM CST, go to noon?

May as well keep the time same as last week if it's just one hour earlier.

Sleepy time now.

Well, that was frustrating.

Family went out for the day. Family ignores my reminder that I need to run this. Family is shocked when I remind them that I need to get home. Family promptly gets stuck in traffic jam for over an hour. <_<

That was a "nice" cap for my day. *sigh*

Anyway, seeing as I fail at scheduling forever, I'll have the the topic up, and extend the deadline.

Okay, first thing's first: today's Iron Fic starts in 10 minutes, runs for 24 hours.

Second thing: violinmana and I have come to a realization: IF and AF need to work together. Given the unsurprising similarities between the contests, and given that people will be going back to school/work very soon, our goal as the authors of our contests should be to get as many people involved as possible.

We are going to do this by reorganizing how the contests run.

Iron Fic, from now until TFF ends, will run from 12 noon PST (3PM EST, etc.).

AF will start 24 hours later, run for the next six days, until IF starts again.

The two contest topics will be related BUT NOT IDENTICAL. This is important. The two contests will be graded seperately, so there could very well be different winners between the two.

Note also that IF and AF topics will be designed to, one way or another, work off of one another. So it is to your best interest to write for both!

IRON FIC LIVES!!!

Yes, starting at the end of this month, the Iron Fic writing contest will begin again!

On May 22nd, the first four hour challenge prompt will be posted at 11AM, Pacific Standard Time. Save the date and free up your schedule, and prove that you are TFF IRON FICCER!

And yes Megaolix, judging will be... dealt with. So stop bringing it up! B)

I'll check out the entry, and I'll tell you if I want to judge or not.

When am I ever not up for trying my hand at judging?

I'd offer to write something, but sporadic access to the net is killing me right now.

I might be able to write this time. No really I could.

You crazy, bro? The Champions League final is on May 22nd.

Don't make me choose between watching the Champions League final and writing an entry for Iron Fic.

I don't think I have anything important to do that day, so if you need more judges I'll join the team.

Okay then, I'll choose for you: IRON FIC.

Alternatively, mix pleasure and pleasure and do both.
It is unpossible. I will not be home on that evening, probably won't be home that night as well, as I'll either be celebrating Bayern's victory or drowning my sorrows.

Can't you do it on May 23rd?

Keep it the 22nd in my opinion. I have a paintballing match on the 23rd and when I come home from that I'm going to be tired and beat up and in no mood for writing a fic.

I'll take a look -- one or two of the prompts have interested me, but I'm not good at writing within a time limit.

*kicks topic*

Hey everyone; Watashiwa here. As a reminder, tomorrow at 11AM Pacific Standard Time a new IRON FIC contest will begin!

Judges will be Shaderic and maybe violinmana.

If you're interested in competing or judging, sign up here; and please actually participate!

Wata, maybe you're set on the time, but I really wish you could consider giving 24 hours instead of 4. As you've seen, we're at least two who missed it who could have participated and you had an entry in the nick of time and another just after it. Also helps those who aren't free or see it later and have even less time to work on it.

Inspiration is nice and all, but the added time also let us add more quality to it, as in no need to rush to fix every mistake.

Wasn't the 24-hour one called Aluminum Fic?

Regardless, on extending time...

I've been trying to get back into writing and I'd enjoyed the ones AJT did for bleach before IF and AF started up, so did have a bit of interest in this, but IF's time is right during one of my weekly tabletop RPG games.

By the time that ended, and I saw the prompt, I had 15 minutes and I had no desire to try and write something in so short a time. Moreso the pity since I did like the prompt.

So I'm all for either a revival of AF going alongside, or for IF being 24 hours. Admittedly, I still preferred AJT's, those gave even more than 24 hours. =p
