Well... Fourze 31 was... interesting.

On the plus side, I fully expect an Atoner!Ryuusei as Fourze fic to show up at some point.

More than likely there will be...but who knows really :p

So onto bigger and other news...

Super Hero Taisen is out in theaters today! I'm seriously psyched for this movie~

The Gokaigers to transform into the various Full Color Combo OOO's forms...which was spoiled to us over a year ago when fans figured it out.

Kamen Rider Î Kamen Rider Fourze & OOO: Movie War Mega Max is really entertaining, now that I've seen it subbed.

Its most enjoyable as OOO's epilogue because that's what it really is, but the Showa Legenday 7, W, and Fourze stuff are really fun too.

It makes reference to several of the movies, which have been handwaved into canon, but it was fun enough that one doesn't find themselves caring too much.

Its a lot of fun especially if you like OOO and Fourze.

The only part that's kinda weird is that this is apparently canon for Super Hero Taisen considering that the Super-1 switch appears in Taisen, but Eiji has purple medals in Taisen but not here because they were all canonically destroyed. The medal sets he has now are Red, Yellow, Green, Grey, and Blue.

Well back when they first handing out spoilers to Megamax, they said that they didn't want to include the Purple Medals into the movie, but I don't believe they ever said that the medals themselves were outright destroyed.

So Eiji could have gotten them, but didn't want to run the risk of using them.

Eitherway, It was a KICKASS movie and awesome to see :D

Nope. Every single one of the purple medals broke in the end of Kamen Rider OOO. We see all seven Eiji has snap into pieces.

The only way you could try to justify there being a Putotyra combo is if you say Maki's medals survived, which means that they're Maki Greeed's main cores and the only time a Greeed's main core medal was used was with Ankh, which allows Ankh to act as a sort of specter.

The otehr way is if Kogami shows up and goes 'by the way, Hino, I remade these dinosaurmedals which I intensely dislike because they run counter to my goals. Here you go!'

EDIT: Yes, it was indeed pretty kickass, though I kinda wish the movie and series were a bit more interconnected with Fourze or that it had come out sometime near the middle of fourze, the scene with Gentaro and Nadeshiko near the end would have been the perfect time to do an early debut of the Cosmic states. Rocket states is pretty cool, but Cosmic states is awesome.

While I agree with you Cosgrove, it would've been out of place for Cosmic States to be there. By that point, Ryuusei hadn't debuted, Magnet States was yet to appear, and this is canonically Virgo's first appearence in the series. Also, with the Purple Medals idea, remember that all the Greeed expected Uva to be dead-dead once they blew him up, he only survived because he wanted to live on. If Maki's medals survived, Maki is likely no longer in them, he observed his perfect ending, he found satisfaction, fufillment in a way that only he, Ankh and Gamel could really achieve.

What I'd like to see is an arc where the movie is aknowledged a bit more. Like, theres a Horiscopes/Zodiart who's special ability basically cancels out the effects of bonds, making Elek, Fire, Magnet and Cosmic States useless (or back to the old methods, in the case of Elek, back in JK's arc) and even stopping Meteor Storm from being used for too long. The monster then does the standard maniacal laugh, saying that he is now invincible... only for Gentarou to snap his fingers and then pull out the Super Rocket Switch.

.... I like Rocket States. Especially the Super Rocket Finisher, that Tailspin looked awesome! Super Tatoba less so, but only due to the rubber claws, otherwise I think it could make for a good replacement as Super Mode.

It seems to me Foundation X is the new Shocker. They were in W are implied to have been behind OOO and are outright shown to be behind the zodiarts in Fourze. Maybe we might get some sort of crossover in a future episode? Say a mystery is on in the school, and suddenly Gentarou remembers he knows a certain detective? Or maybe a future rider takes a trip to wherever Kougami is centered, and fights a monster, only to get unexpected assistance from Birth? Endless potential.

Also, you have to wonder where Den-Liner was during that whole "Time hole" incident. Wouldn't be the first time Greeed medals have caused problems due to time travel.

Yup, I agree that it would have been out of place, which is why I said I kinda wish that it had been out later after Fourze had had more material out.

Also, I liked a lot of the stuff, including Rocket states. Felt that the OOOs part of Megamax was the strongest, though. It could have been its own movie if they wanted, but I really enjoyed the camaraderie between the three(four, if you include Phillip) when the crossover part shows up.

And I agree that more in series crossovers would be great. Its one of the things I really liked about chunks of Showa is that the other riders would sometimes show up and be relevant to the plot. There's been a lot of stuff, Double onwards, that set up potential for a crossover in series (W and OOO, OOO and Fourze, and now W and Fourze) that aren't ever utilized, and I think its a shame because they obviously are trying to make Foundation X the new villain, but they don't really get to show it except in movies because there's this almost crazy need to make no continuity between rider series, but then have movies that state there is continuity and that this mysterious organization is behind the bad guys, really they are. I blame Decade.

Fourze especially wasted its potential to crossovers, I felt that it is one of the biggest shames after having the Tease of videos of previous Rides fighting in basically the first episode.

If what I heard is correct... wait for the Hyper Battle Video. Amazon is going to be in it, apparently.

So the next Kamen Rider series: Kamen Rider Wizard (Pronounced Vi-zard).

Our hero, Souma Haruto/Kamen Rider Wizard (Shunya Shiraishi).

Kamen Rider Wizard has four forms in total:

From left to right: Hurricane Style, Flame Style (Basic), Aqua Style, Earth Style.

Kamen Rider Wizard Flame Style is his basic form when he scans the ring on the Wizard Driver. The main attribute is Fire and has the power to manipulate flames and heat.

Kamen Rider Wizard Hurricane Style can be utilized with the use of the ring with the hurricane wind attributes. He sort of dances to invoke wind and allows him to fly in a certain height.

Kamen Rider Wizard Water Style utilizes with the use of the water ring with water or aquatic attributes. He has the ability to manipulate the water.

Kamen Rider Wizard Land Style is a land transformation using the ring with ground or soil attributes. It is best used to defend against enemy attacks, summoning a wall from the ground.

The WizarDriver

The motif this year is rings and magic. The hand on the belt can be switched to face either right (for your left hand) or left (for your right hand) to face the other direction. This is how Wizard will activate his various other rings and special abilities/forms.

The WizarSwordGun. Go ahead...guess what it does.

On the left side, these are the PlaMonter Series. It seems to act as Kamen Rider Wizard's helper animals or creatures. Seen in the scan are Red Garuda, Blue Unicorn and Yellow Kraken.

On the right side, we have the WizarDragon and Machine Winger. The bike and dragon can be combine to form Winger Wizardragon and can transform into a Hissatsu Kick.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Well, I'm excited for this series.
The only thing I REALLY hope to hear in this series is "A Wizard did it." If it's not said...I will be sad...
It's good to see the retarded-looking clusterfuck that was Fourze's costume isn't a mistake they plan on repeating.
So, two episodes of Wizard have come out.
I honestly like the design, but I'm still not sure I'm sold on Wizard yet. The belt and ring system is weird and if we're going to be getting that 'plunge into the inner world fighting monsters' then I worry they'll burn through their budget like OOO did with Gatakiriba and the middle will be very... bland to make up for it. Either they have a much larger budget or those dragon cg fights, along with the Air form's effects will eat the budget fast.
The belt is also weird. "Connection, Please!"
Or "Sha Ba Do Be Touch Henshin"
Still, too early to really judge, but I do like how there's a good use of each form here and there. There's no worry like OOO, it seems, where we won't see one form except once in forever.
I'm cautiously optimistic, but the plot better not pull a Kabuto concerning the 'original' Wizard.
Didn't Kabuto receive the transformation trinket from a time-travelling future-self? I dunno; it looks like the Phantoms were defeated before, judging by how they keep rambling about how they'll be reunited with their leader. The previous Wizard was probably the one who did it.
Also, it occurs to me, if Gates can use magic even before transforming into Phantoms, then might Hina from OOO might be a Gate? Her super-strength was never explained, after all, and it is the same universe.
Just remember the most important thing about the belt every time it says "[Ring being used], Please!"...
Please is the magic word.
But ANYWAY...
I'm finding wizard to be fun and interesting so far, I'm liking Haruto, but not entirely sure on the new guy though...
Reminds me of Gai from Gokaiger, in some fashion, but not entirely bad either. I'm liking Daimon and how she keeps wanting to be part of the investigation...reminds me of the male cop from the original Kuuga series.
But yeah, it's still too early to make REAL assumptions on this new Kamen Rider.
Fairly good, honestly.
Beast getting Gay Cowboy Style was unexpected, but... Well, yeah.
Infinite Style is gonna be next week. Finally. :p
SUBJECT GET
So, Kamen Rider Kiva. I was thinking about it, and that season... talk about terrible marketing ideas. Broom Booster, the motorcycle enhancement, appeared only one episode. No explanation for it, but also no further use, because it burned the CGI money, so it really only had its existence as a toy to its value. Ixa had the Fake Fuestles to use the abilities of the Arms Monsters but it was only used once, and speaking of which he barely was an enemy because then they had to make way for the rest of the chess pieces and Saga (no comment on him given I didn't watch the series beyond his first appearance, but I get that he was a major role). And I still remember Kiva's (unnecessary) cameo in Climax Deka and how it just doesn't flow well.
I'm wondering what you guys remember as the worst ideas the series has had thus far that relate to these subjects: things that either were meant to sell toys, but were poorly advertised, or things that were obviously meant to be one thing but the final outcome requires something completely different. (Don't just say 'Hibiki' without explaining it. It's not like everyone knows the deal with that series.)
Just finished reading the wikipedia article on the latest Kamen Rider series, Gaim. And 'dance crews'...
Please... please! Don't let it be as bad as I think it is! God I hate those dance mob movies.
If it makes you feel better one of the main writers is Gen Urobuchi, who's good at quality and at mind-screws whatever else you may say about him
So, in a recent interview with Urobuchi, he gives some insight into the intended style of Gaim.
For instance, he's aiming for the style of Rider not seen in the past 10 years. Specifically, he's aiming for the tone and feel from the Kuuga-Faiz era of Heisei films. This, he feels, will present a more dramatic take on the characters and story. And that he wants to break away from the two-parter story arcs that have been firmly in place since Den-O (although even Wizard cracked that little precedent a couple of times).
Also, his thoughts regarding the characters:
Gen Urobuchi said:
He describes Mitsuzane Kureshima/Kamen Rider Ryugen as a thoughtful character who doesn’t wish to be a burden on anyone else; Kaito Kumon/Kamen Rider Balon will play a character who is initially argumentative and quick to anger despite having a pure heart; and, Takatora Kureshima/Kamen Rider Zangetsu as the "Kamen Rider Ouja" of the series.
This actually makes me MORE excited for Gaim now. Especially considering that we're FINALLY going back to a single MotW episodes and how much more darker and/or angsty the series will become...I hope.
Okay. I've seen the first two episodes of Gaim... and they've got a lot crammed into them. First, there are the Inves. This seems to be like a pokemon style thing. There are various locks that open portals to another world, and summon monsters. As long as a person hold onto a lock seed, the creatures are only partially in this world and can battle in a sort of virtual arena. If the person drops a lock, or it leaves their hand, the creature can fully emerge into this world and goes crazy.
The dance gangs... are weird... They battle using Inves to gain popularity and take over stages in order to dance for the public. No idea what they get out of it.
And then there is the Sengoku drivers... they apparently use lock Seeds in order to transform.
Throw in a shady megacorp, and you got a big cauldron of confuzlment.
So I'm checking out Gaim's TV Tropes page because I was curious, when suddenly lo and behold, I find out that TFF's own Meinos Kaen is actually doing episode reviews of Gaim.
Contains ep 1 v2, 10-current.
Contains episodes 2-current.
I will Meinos' accent IS a tad thick at times, but they're humorous and fun to watch.
@MeinosKaen Why didn't you say you were doing this here?
HOLY SHIT...We knew that this was gonna happen when we heard Urobuchi was writing for Kamen Rider, but when it happened we still weren't prepared for it...
Kamen Rider X Kamen Rider was announced a while back. People here probably aren't surprised about it.
Today's episode? It's revealed that they'll leave it to the audience to vote on which team is going to win out in the end.
Not sure if everyone else here has heard it, but...
We're going to have a ToQGer and Gaim crossover special, where unlike the DecadexShinkenger one, it's going to be a full hour covering both time slots and is a follow-up(?) to the Showa vs Hesei feat. Super Sentai film.
