I live on Australia's East Coast (GMT +10), and I'm free most mornings my time, and all weekend.

Here's a little bit of info to all those who are rolling up characters, the campaign is starting in a very cold climate, so prepare accordingly.

locke69(Not really sure, but he;s been posting, so why not list him?)
Take me off the list, please. I don't mind helping to set up games, but I'm not joining.

You can remove me as well. I thought I'd have free time, but I've got too many things to do.

PMed Gwyll and Mannequin to see if we can get a time extension. PMing people with whenever/no time listed to see if it works for them.

@Dubrichius:
-What extra books are you allowing for the campaign? I have couple of classes I'm interested in playing from supplements, but I don't want to start making them if you don't want them in the campaign.

-What power level are we going to have? If you could give us a tarting level, that would be good.

-How do we roll stats? 3d6, 4d6 dropping the lowest? Which one should we use? If you'd allow it, I'd prefer the way I've been doing it at college, roll 27d6 and keep the highest 18.

Edit:
Mannequin and IWWLHF are both good to go.

I suppose we should start figuring out classes so we can get going on the actual game. Who wants to play what?

DM:
Dubrichius

Current Party:
Zerohour
IWWLHF +2 Buddies
MannequinMuse (Time Extended)

Unconfirmed:
Ray(???)
Gwyll(?)
Mercsenary(?)

I have no restrictions on which supplementary books you wish to use for character creation, in fact I encourage it.

I'm gonna start this campaign at level 1, as that's the level I've always started at, both for playing and DM'ing.

In terms of die rolls for attributes: use 5d6, highest 3 for each, assign at your discretion.

Just so I'm aware, how are we going to play this? On the forum, via MSN/AIM, or some other way?

I have OpenRPG, OPnPW, MSN, AIM, and Maptools available to play with. I personally suggest Open, or Maptools, with Maptools being the preference thanks to it's broader set of options. And, my two buddies actually do have time constraints, so if we don't have enough for preference from our loved TFF, I'm glad to bring them in. And, currently, I have four characters I could play.

A Dread Necromancer (Human),
A Barbarian (Human),
A Rogue (Dragon, Variant),
A Druid (Elf),
Or, I can come up with someone else on the fly.

Edit:
Like a Half-Elf Cleric of Vecna I could play leading slowly into a particularly wonderful master of death and destruction... Or, not. Either way, I'm good for such.

I was actually thinking of a Human Fighter in a Blood of Vecna capacity, so the half-elf cleric could work out well...

Mentions of Venca.

Anyway, the world I'm working on is your basic 3.5 Generic Campaign, but with a few variations:

1. Due to a societal revolution that occurred recently, relatively speaking, Dwarves are unable to become any class that uses Divine Magic; eg: Cleric, Paladin, etc.
2. Hobgoblins are always Lawful Neutral in alignment (which we all know means about 80%), and their society heavily resembles the Roman Army from approx. 300AD.
3. The level of technology for most of humanity in my campaign world is reminiscent of the early Renaissance, the Dwarves are just beginning to enter the Industrial Age, and the High Elves are in an Arcane fueled equivalent to the late Renaissance.
4. The campaign world is High Magic, but with most of it being merely trinkets that make life easier. For example, in the Human metropolis of Silvermist, brightly glowing glass orbs, about the size of a pool ball, are used in most homes to provide illumination; with larger ones used for street lights, and larger buildings, like the Mage's Academy. These orbs do need to be recharged every few months for a nominal fee, much like how we have to pay for the electricity we use in our homes.
^_^ Remember your campaign setting while designing characters.

I've got MSN, and I downloaded OpenRPG, though I haven't installed/tried it out.

I think I'll try the Shadowcaster class from Tome of Magic.

Edit: Was there some sort of conflict with Mannequin's idea? Or was it just one of those things to keep in mind?

Also, IWWLHF, what are your buddies thinking about playing if they join in on the game?

If we're going to use MSN/OpenRPG/Whatever, we should probably do a test run to make sure we can all use it soon. This weekend isn't good for me due to work training, but maybe next weekend?

I don't see a confliction regarding Vecna, and anything else. The only mentions I see of religion at all are Dwarves can't play the religious classes, wheras my character is a Half-Elf.

So... I REFUSE TO LOOK MEEK, I INDEED SAY TO YOU, SIR.

NO U.

@zerohour:

Not sure, I haven't informed them about this group yet. I just got back into contact with one, and the other was with me all week... And, we weren't quite interested in DnD at the time, if you know what I mean.

But, either way. More consultation needed.

P.S.
Or, I could play the Kobold I'm working on, as we all know Kobolds as PCs are lulz, and full of win and delicious cake.

Indeed, but seriously, should I speak to my friends about it, or will we have enough to join from TFF that getting their hopes up would be simply a Xykor thing to do? (I just finished reading page 1 to 655 of Order of the Stick, leave me alone.)

And, just to be a gnat, here's the updated list of characters I can play:
A Human Dread Necromancer,
A Human Barbarian,
A Kobold Sorceror,
A Dragon (Variant) Wizard (After levels in the racial paragon),
A Half-Elf Cleric (Of Vecna),
A Elf Druid,
OR I CAN CONTINUE TO CRANK ANOTHER CHARACTER OUT. 'cause really it's all I have to do while I sit in my room depressed over recent events, after destroying my 12-can supply of Yoohoos.

Yes, it's that bad.

But, anyway, Some good news?

Edit: Oh, or a Kobold Psychic Warrior with a base AC of 21, 25 when he casts Force Shield :p

How's this look? I haven't chosen a diety yet, but I'm thinking either Boccob or Vecna. I'm gonna look through some other books to see if I can find another god.

Name's also up in the air. I don't want to choose something so outlandish, and Zeros is pretty close to Zero/Zerohour.

Looks like a decent character to me, but I'm not too sure about some of the items you purchased for him, specifically buying multiples of some items that tend to last for quite a while. Also, with your Strength at 10, you're probably either encumbered, or very close to it.

Dub, you didn't cover it, but are you Psionics friendly, or no? It's kind of important, so I can put up a character whom you won't be like 'RAGE, PSIONICS."

I knew I forgot something.... stupid encumbrance... Maybe I'll buy a horse or something later...

As for the excess of some items, that was to make counting gold easier, so I can probably cut them

Backpack -2
Bedroll - 5
Winter Blanket x2 - 6
10 Candles -
Inkx2 -
Inkpenx5 -
Parchment x20 -
Iron Pot x2 - 20
Flint and Steel x4 -
Cold Weather Outfit x2 -14
Explorer's Outfit -8
Peasant Outfit x3 -6
Wizard's Spellbook - 3
Tent -20
Lantern x1 3
Oil x10 10

Total weight:97 oout of 100

Stuff I wouldn't carry with me into a dungeon:
Extra Outfits -20/19
Tent- 20
Blanket- 3
Iron Pot -10
Which reduces the weight by 53/52
Which drops it down to
44/45

If I ditch the Backpack, bedroll, and the last Iron Pot, I'm down to 27/28, which is unencumbered. Mot of the stuff I have is easily removable, so if I spend a round removing/dropping it, I should be fine.
