Dub, you didn't cover it, but are you Psionics friendly, or no? It's kind of important, so I can put up a character whom you won't be like 'RAGE, PSIONICS."
Psionics, huh? Hmmm... I'll allow it, but be aware that the region the campaign is starting in has no native psionic-capable people, so you need to explain why that character is there.

Screw it, I'll just play the Sorceror. I'm making a character choice too difficult. Character below!:

Name: Ythul'kel Mardul'eleu "Yith the Robed"
Race & Class: Kobold Sorceror LV1
Alignment: Chaotic Neutral
Diety: Worships the local pantheon (The DnD Pantheon by default)
Stats: STR 13 DEX 13 CON 11 INT 12 WIS 15 CHA 15
HP: 4
Skill Ranks (Total):
Concentration 4
Knowledge Arcana 4 (5)
Profession (Tailor) 2 (4)
Spellcraft 2 (3)
Saving Throws:
Fort 0
Reflex 1
Will 4
Equipped With:
Robes
Morningstar
Leather Tome (Spellbook)
Backpack
Trail Rations (3 days)
Waterskin
Bedroll
Tent
Flint & Tinder
Silk Rope, 50ft
Tailor's Tools
Spell Components (To be simple)
Feats:
Silent Spell
Languages:
Draconic
Common
Spells:
Selected from the Wizard/Sorceror lists, spontaneous casting.
Familiar:
Mynarkis, Cat Familiar
3 HP
+2 Init
30 Speed
15 AC
Stealthy, Weapon Finesse, Alertness
Small amount of backstory:
Yith was banished, making him a pariah in kobold society, but his skills and knowledge were just enough to survive in a human city. While he does not flourish, he gets by, and that's all he can ask for.

Looks pretty good, but there is one thing I would like to point out: as a Sorcerer, his magic is innate, and as such he doesn't need a spellbook.

EDIT: Also, it would be advisable to list what spells he is able to cast, as he can only cast 4 Cantrips and 3 Level 1 spells.

I should probably cook up a back story too...

Are we going to try and do a test game this weekend? I would like to make sure we can all get on before everyone finishes character creation, so we don't start sitting around trying to set up the game.

Also, is the world cold, or just the region we're in? Could you give us a bit more of the general history/setup?

Certainly.

For the most part, the world my campaign is set on is very much like Earth, with it cold at the North and South Poles, and hot at the Equator. The planet has four main landmasses with several thousand islands of various sizes dotted around the world. The planet itself is almost twice the size of Earth, and is orbited by two moons. The region my campaign is starting in is loacted to the far north, on a landmass that stretches down from the 25th parallel to below the equator, and takes up a good fifth of the northern hemisphere. This one is the third continent in terms of size. Topographically, the land is mostly flat, with only the occasional rolling hill. Huge swathes of land is covered in forest, covering over 60% of the continent.

In terms of the evolution of some of the various sentient species, Humans and Orcs are distantly related, with the Orcs having evolved from that world's version of Neanderthal Man. Gnomes and Halflings are related too, with them becoming distinct species some three hundred thousand years in the past. The Half-Elves of this world breed true, as their existence was a direct result of a magical experiment failing catastrophically some 50,000 years ago; or at least that's what everyone believes.

With the Illithids of this reality, their species originated from before the creation of this Universe, having evolved from a species that found a way to survive the collapse of reality itself. That's all I'm going to divulge with regards to the Mind Flayers, as anything else would be spoilers.

The spellbooks for flavor, and I could put down the entire 0-2nd level spell list, but that'd basically flood the page.

Edit:
With bonus spells, he casts 4 1st Level, and can cast 1 2nd level.

But as a level 1 Sorcerer, he only knows 4 Cantrips and 3 First level spells; which is what I meant to say in a previous post of mine, but came out wrong.

Alright, we REALLY need to buckle down and try to play.

People who haven't posted a character yet, do so.

This weekend is shot, but next weekend, starting at 9PM GMT, we'll log to OpenRPG and try to get together, and hopefully start the campaign. If you guys have issues with this time/program, let us know so we can try something else.

Dubrichius, test out OpenRPG so you have a basic understanding of how it works, and let us know ASAP so we can hang the system if necessary.

I'll try to be on this friday, but I can't promise that there won't be issues. I'm entering into a rather terse situation with my remaining parental unit, and I'll soon be moving up into TN with my ladyfriend. So, we'll just have to see what goes, and what doesn't. I look forward to playing if I can, though!

You know how life is Locke. We'll try again this weekend.

We'll try this using the Open RPG system. If you don't have it, download it.
I belive this is the correct Link:http://www.rpgobjects.com/index.php?c=orpg&m=getorpg

I'll PM everyone after work tomorrow, just to make sure you all get this.

Attempted meet time (GMT):
Saturday, 10PM

Times for everyone confirmed:
Dubrichius: 8 AM
Zerohour: 4 PM
Mannequin: 2 PM (No longer playing)
IWWLHF: No clue, figure it out yourself

We're down to just two PCs, though IWWLHF has some friends we can call up if we have the need. If not, we might be able to play with the gestalt variant to even out the party.

Or not, it would be a bit more interesting without it.

Bad Zero! 1.7.1 may be a stable release, but it pales in comparison to 1.7.8!

OpenRPG 1.7.8 Beta

Seriously. Uninstall Python, Pythonwx, and OpenRPG. Replace it with the latest version which also installs the latest Python.

Also, have you all figured out what OpenRPG server you're all going to use?

I really am sorry to say this, but this Saturday and the next one I'm not going to be available, as I'll be at work-based workshops. I have to leave at 7 AM my time just to get there, too. So, yeah. :rip1:

I'm moving, as well, so this Saturday won't be good for me. By the way, Zero, I'm Central Standard Time. :p But, I'll be available next weekend if nothing comes up... But, I don't know if I'll have my computer to use at that point.

Just got my work schedule for next week, and I'm free this weekend. I know Dubricius is busy, but we could try a test game, to make sure that OpenRPG is working for everyone. Respond ASAP so I can get it set up/block off time for it.
