Looking for DM and Players for an Online 3.5

Needless to say, I've been trying to quench my 3.5 thirst as of late, and failing miserably, so I finally come to you, my TFF Brethren. Is it likely that you will turn me down, or not help me? I'd hope not! Really, I'm just looking for a campaign to join, I've got a Homebrew Race and such I'd like to try out, but if you're iffy about that, I have no problem using my Elf Druid, or making another character! Just get back to me, guys. I'm depending on you!

Well, just saying that you're looking for a game is fine and all, but you really aren't giving anyone an incentive to game with you.

You have a custom race? Post it up. If someone in TFF is willing to GM, then that will likely be one of the key means to attract the GM as you're not offering any plot details.

Then you have to tell us what type of format (IM, OpenRPG, MapTools, Forum Play by Post, forum PM) you're looking for.

And then there's the last part, what type of campaign or storyline are you looking for? An innocent campaign that mostly focuses on a group of farmers turning into knights or a dark and sinful campaign where the players deal with horrors beyond imagination?

I for one would certainly be interested in playing a game of 3.5 online, possibly even GM it if no-one else is willing. I've got a few campaign ideas churning around in my head, from the basic hack and slash dungeon crawl to a massive epic.

Well, it's safe and fun to share, so I guess I -should- link the race and such. You can find them all on DanDwiki through my userpage.

The Race: http://www.dandwiki.com/wiki/Dragon%2C_Variant_(DnD_Race)
The Paragon: http://www.dandwiki.com/wiki/Dragon_Parago..._Paragon_Class)
The Prestige Class: http://www.dandwiki.com/wiki/Wyrm_Knight_(...Prestige_Class)

Edit: And, to be honest, I can do OpenRPG, PnPW, or an IM service, though my preference is to the first two. I could get MapTools, and such, but I've never used it before.

Well, that just leaves the question of what type of campaign you want (I'm looking at this thread as a way for you to recruit out a GM, particulars help, details don't in this regard).

And I've looked over your sheets, which honestly make me leery on general principle. After all, you're going be playing as a medium sized Dragon, a beast that will normally either be reviled or revered.

Well, I finally found a group, whom I'll discover Wednesday if they work out.

But, as things go, I don't -need- to play those, they just really need to be playtested to see if they balance out against the other Base races, and such.

So does this mean that you are no longer interested in an online game?

No, I'm just not available for Wednesday nights. However, otherwise, I'm glad to spot in on others.

Alright, assuming people are interested in getting a TFF game going, list the following:

-When you're available to play
-What type of campaign you want to play
-What Level range you want to play (1-5, 6-11, and so on.)
-What play style do you like (TRoleplaying, Hack'n'Slash, exploring, etc.)

If you think I missed listing anythign else important to making this work, please add it in.

-I'm fairly flexible for playing at this point, though that will likely change after the end of the semester. I'll .let you knwo once I get my summer work schedule and summer school set up.
-No particular campaign tyypes
-I'm interested in all power levels, though I'd like to play in the level 11+ range.
-I'm willing to try any gming style, though I would like to get a little Roleplaying in.

What type of RP set up do you want (IM, OpenRPG, MapTools, Forum Play by Post, forum PM)?

That's one question that should get answered early. IM, OpenRPG, MapTools, and Fantasy Grounds (one time Paid program) are all live sessions, allowing you to role play right away. Forum Play by Post and PM allows you to role play whenever you come up with something and not on the fly.

I'd prefer IM, OpenRPG, and other ones that allow playing in real time. With play by post or PM can be good for some of the roleplays, it makes combat, especially D&D combat difficult.

That being said, free is better, since I already spent a lot on D&D, and would prefer to avoid spending any more money when there are other methods that cost nothing.

-When you're available to play- Most Days, and Nights. (Wednesday 8 to 12 is not available, other group.) Otherwise, I'm an almost blank slate for the moment.
-What type of campaign you want to play- Prefer a good balance of Roleplay, Hack n' Slash, Skill, and Intrigue
-What Level range you want to play (1-5, 6-11, and so on.)- 1-30, whatever is fine.
-What play style do you like (TRoleplaying, Hack'n'Slash, exploring, etc.) - See 2nd.
-Willing to DM- No. Never again.

Almost forgot the most important part: List if you're willing to DM. We'll need one if we're going to get anywhere.

Asw for me, the answer is no. I've been DMing for most of college, and I'd like to take a break.

Just a nice clean little bump, if we can find a DM and maybe another player or two, myself and my ladyfriend are going to play some of my DanDwiki homebrew items to test them out amidst a group. I'm not willing to DM, and she's not very good at it...

Thanks for the bump. I'd love to play now that exams are winding down. Be warned, it'll be my first 3.5 but I have some WoD experience and I've RPed before in general.

I think it should be obvious that I'd really rather not DM.

So we have four players, but no DM... wonderful...

If no one volunteers in a week or so, I'll consider DMing, but be warned: I may be vengeful for having to do it again.

Have you PMed Dubrichius about what he has planned for DMing?

Thanks for the PM, zerohour, I'd completely forgotten about this thread.

Anyway, the world I'm working on is your basic 3.5 Generic Campaign, but with a few variations:

1. Due to a societal revolution that occurred recently, relatively speaking, Dwarves are unable to become any class that uses Divine Magic; eg: Cleric, Paladin, etc.
2. Hobgoblins are always Lawful Neutral in alignment (which we all know means about 80%), and their society heavily resembles the Roman Army from approx. 300AD.
3. The level of technology for most of humanity in my campaign world is reminiscent of the early Renaissance, the Dwarves are just beginning to enter the Industrial Age, and the High Elves are in an Arcane fueled equivalent to the late Renaissance.
4. The campaign world is High Magic, but with most of it being merely trinkets that make life easier. For example, in the Human metropolis of Silvermist, brightly glowing glass orbs, about the size of a pool ball, are used in most homes to provide illumination; with larger ones used for street lights, and larger buildings, like the Mage's Academy. These orbs do need to be recharged every few months for a nominal fee, much like how we have to pay for the electricity we use in our homes.

Hmm, good idea for a home brew world. Make sure you have all your thoughts down on paper or in data for the world.

If it's not too late, I'd be interested in getting in a game. It would depend on when you'll be playing though.

Considering I'm still out of a group as well, I'd gladly be interested in joining up if there was room for someone.

One thing about times, which timezone are you in? I would be interested in some roleplaying, but currently I don't have the exact changes between 3.0 and 3.5. Also, I am available evenings/nights, about 8pm-midnight at GMT+1.

Ooooh, magipunk.

I'm interested, if there's room. I've been itching to RP as a wizard.

Alright, we've got players, we'v got a DM. Next steps:

-Figuring out game frequency
-Figuring out Time(s) to play
-Figure out who's playing what class.

I'm fine with playing games once or twice a week.

I live in the Midwest (GMT -6) and am free most evenings. In general, I'll be able to play anytime between 5 PM and 2 AM here, assuming I don't make any other plans.

I'm free most evenings, though since my summer job will be starting in a few weeks, there may be some restrictions on that.

I'd like to play a caster class, though I haven't decided whether to go Arcane or Divine.

Current Class Choices
Ray: Wizard
Zerohour: Caster (Any)
