I like this Monochrome Sky so far, although I see two likely resolutions. Either Keitaro wins Tsuruko over or she gets locked up. Considering how he's already won her over enolugh that she personally told him to run to protecthimself from her I think the first is more likely. Well that or Haruka and Kanako arrive to take her down. If she's unwilling to hurt women to start off with, and you take into account Kanako's many talents, Kanako might get close enough to stick a knife in her back with Tsuruko realizing it.

Or Motoko could call her home and have the most skilled members of the school come and cut her down. I doubt Tsuroko is the only master.

That is assuming that Motoko doesn't find the nerve to do the job herself... I could see her manning up and doing it. And she might have an advantage that the others probably wouldn't; a small dose of surprise.

Yes, but she isn't a master. With a school that large they must have quite a number of masters. As well as people trained to take down fallen practitioners.

Motoko doesn't need to be a master too kill Tsuruko. Just a dagger, some subtlety, the nerve to do the job and the facade of no motivation to do it. Admittedly, it would be harder than it sounds for her because Motoko has no practice with misdirection or any ninja skills really, but if she found the motivation, she would eventually succeed. And I could see her doing it as opposed to the clan because, as strange as it seems, it is the more direct method. Motoko wouldn't find any honor in herself if she didn't do it herself...

Nabiki thinks she was ruined before? This isn't the type of thing her old contacts can smooth over. Once she ends up in court her life is all but over.

Random1377 has completed Fearless. Excellent work, as seems to be his norm. The ending wasn't quite what I was expecting, but the story is all the better for it.

Unfortunately uncompleted and rather short, and hasn't been updated in half a year, but I recommend <a href='http://www.fanfiction.net/s/6402632/1/Keitaro_The_Divine_Crusader' target='_blank' rel='nofollow'>Keitaro: The Divine Crusader.</a>

Thanks to Kitsune's words of advice, Keitaro decides to get over Naru, and asks out Motoko. However, when Su builds a machine to help Keitaro when the Kendo girl gives him a seemingly impossible task, Naru wrecks it. This obviously causes the machine to backfire, sending him directly into the Imperial Prison, where an Emperor is going to his forseen death.

Okay, I'll admit. I'm a bit wary to see if the author can pull it off. So far the first chapter is good, if a bit standard for FoZ fare; let's hope the author will make the story epic. Anyway, a LH/FoZ cross (yes, really), <a href='http://www.fanfiction.net/s/7193080/1/A_True_Hero' target='_blank' rel='nofollow'>A True Hero.</a>

A True Hero by Ragnell13
There were far more beings best suited for the job than her, yet she was chosen. This is a story of a simple girl who had to learn to be a hero.
Crossover - Love Hina & Familiar of Zero - Rated: K - English - Fantasy/Friendship - Chapters: 1 - Words: 3,312 - Published: 7-18-11 - Shinobu M. & Louise
Yes. SHINOBU of all people gets summoned. The incredibly shy, pushover tenant who is possibly the most UNLIKELY choice EVER is summoned to Halgenia. If the author can pull this off, they get a lifetime supply of cookies. Delicious cookes. And cake. Which is most definitely not a lie.

Has anyone read the following two stories, and if so, are they worth the read? Askas I've been tempted to read them, but not certain I'll like them:

I'm Only Human: Tsuruko Arcreviews
Immediately takes place at the end of "I'm Only Human". This first of multiple sequels endings/character pairings will revolve around Tsuruko and Keitaro.
Love Hina - Rated: M - English - Romance - Chapters: 1 - Words: 1,175 - Reviews: 4 - Published: 8-23-11 - Tsuruko A. & Keitaro U.

I'm Only Human ?reviews
Keitaro's relationship with Naru comes to a climax, for better or worse. What will he do when the woman he loves is actually deceiving him? Hate turns to love and love turns to hate. I'm Only Human: Tsuruko Arc is submitted as a separate fanfiction.
Love Hina - Rated: M - English - Romance - Chapters: 20 - Words: 38,783 - Reviews: 183 - Updated: 8-16-11 - Published: 4-17-09 - Keitaro U. - Complete

Based on my experience reading the first chapter... I would say it isn't very good.

Well, they are written in first person. Keitaro also doesn't seem like Keitaro at all.

I suspect that the author used this to insert an SI. So it is a KINO (Keitaro in name only).

Yeah, couldn't even get through the first few chapters because of how off that "Keitaro" was along with everyone else. I recall him ending up bumping into some kind of mob queen somewhere, but God was that bad writing.

Put simply, I'd recommend Contract Labor (another full cast in name only fic) over that shit. And I don't like either story.

A wholeheartedly unrecommended fic, <a href='http://www.fanfiction.net/s/7106346/1/For_His_Own_Sake' target='_blank' rel='nofollow'>Good God, man, cut it out with all the bashing!</a> While that's not the actual title, that's seriously what the whole fic is. It started out with a decent premise that Keitaro leaves because he's fed up with it (with little to no bashing and angst, despite the genre tags), but then comes the bashing. And Bashing, and bashing, and bashing. It's like, "Are you quite done yet? I want to get on with the fucking STORY." The past 5 chapters have seemingly been the same thing repeated over and over again.

I want to see what Keitaro is up to. Not see more bashing. While I'm not against a little bashing at times, the author takes this way too far.

Anyway, a fic I actually recommend is <a href='http://www.fanfiction.net/s/5364366/1/Parallel_Lives' target='_blank' rel='nofollow'>Parallel Lives</a>, a Shinobu and Keitaro-based fic. After giving his confession to Naru, and waiting for nearly a month for her reply, getting depressed, Shinobu finds out what's wrong, and convinces him to go on a vacation to get away from everything. And begs to come along. Since no one could say no to those puppy-dog eyes, he gives in, with Su running background interference.

Definitely one of the better Keitaro/Shinobu fics out there, and their relationship is actually believable. Unlike some *coughNarucough*

Sigh... not a recommendation per se, more a statement of disbelief...

The story: 'Justice for all, Even for Keitaro' by Earl Colby Pottinger is being rewritten *again*... I believe this now makes the 4th time... it is now back down to 2 chapters from the 21 it was at.

Author does get further each rewrite... my 2004 copy goes to 11 chapters, my 2007 copy goes to 16, the last version mostly from 2010 was at 21 chapters. And they do get better each version...

I liked the story, and had the author chose to rewrite it while keeping the existing story in place, I would be content to let him rewrite and rewrite... but each time it is rewritten the old version is removed.

That first one is a valid complaint. That second one; though, isn't that the one where Shinobu has a mysterious condition that makes her appear younger than she actually is? Because....uh...yeah. Convenient plot hax to get around the age issue there. That compounded with the general issues of the author make it a bit difficult to recommend, honestly. If I remember correctly I was already giving up on the story when that happened; I can't remember why at the moment, though.

Edit:

Inside Naru's mind, it's the Bridge of the Enterprise.

Comm Naru: "Captain, incoming message."

Captain Naru: *crosses her legs* "On screen."

Borg!Keitaro: "We Love you. Existance as you know it is over. You're emotional and physical self will be made to services our love. Resistace is Futile."

Commander Naru: "Red Alert!"

Captain Naru: "Set course and engage Warp factor Nine!"!

<a href='http://www.fanfiction.net/r/7106346/' target='_blank' rel='nofollow'>http://www.fanfiction.net/r/7106346/</a> I'd still reccomend this fic only for the fact that it seems to be the only one to realize that even keitaro has faults, and it's mostly his fault that he's in this current predicament. And that's it.

You know what impresses me far more than the fic itself? The reviews. These have got to be some of the highest quality reviews I have ever SEEN. Many are well written, long and look well thought out. There are dozens of such reviews. Considering the general type of review on FFN, this is a real accomplishment.

It's probably due to maturity of the fandom. Most Love Hina fans are going to be in their twenties or older.

As for the story itself, I couldn't get into it. Far too much dialogue.

Yeah, I have to admit that the section does have some pretty good reviewers. That story isn't particularly noteworthy if the first few chapters is anything to go by, though. It's alright, especially considering the writer didn't go straight into "I hate all the girls (except Shinobu and Mutsumi, of course) so it's revenge time!" mode. I'll read the whole thing till current then sum up how I feel about it later.

I'll try to find a story to recommend, too.

Hmm, judging based on name recognition since I read one of his Code Geass fics, I expect the fic to be mediocre.
Unless the author improved by leaps and bounds, I would not be surprised if there is weak narration and dry exposition. The summary and the author's favorite list doesn't exactly give the best impression either...

Edit: And it seems I have gained the gift of foresight. The fic is, relatively, middle-of-the-pack in terms of quality.
