I haven't bought it yet. Is ot really worth the money with only the Death Knight as new class?

I'll buy it after I have at least one character at lvl 70

There are new mounts, new factions, and a whole lot of new abilites, and don't forget the sege weapons. TANKS ARE FUN!!!!!

Besides.... that Death Knight starting quest is EPIC. Probably wont get to the Northend content for a while but man that Death Knight quest... loved it;)

Honestly. the Death Knights are annoying. About 95% of the players in Hellfire Peninsula are Death Knights nowadays.

.... this surprises you? Most people who are playing WoW at the moment had level 70 charecters before the expansion. Some are just experimenting with the new class and others just want to play them.

Of COURSE most of the people in Hellfire Pensinsila will be Death Knights. If you expected anything else I'm truly surprised.

Level 71 with both my 70s here.

And been there for quite a while.

Quite frankly, I haven't had the time to level up my now 71s. Sure the quest are super easy to do. They just require doing a ton of them before you level. Which make sense since Blizzard didn't want people to speed through getting to 80 (though people have done it in 27 hours straight), but for someone who can't play WoW everyday (certainly not before my final on Wednesday. The final that will determine if I graduate or not. :help: ), it's just, a whole lot, A LOT of grinding.

And really, no one should be surprised about there being a ton of Death Knights in Outland. Heck, I have a Death Knight. I don't play any of them that much/at all (yes, I said them. I have 3 on 3 different servers. ) but I did it just to see how they are like. And enjoyed them enough that for the three servers I can have them, made one for each.

I'm still sticking to my 'mains' though.

The one thing I have been doing during my breaks of studying, was level up my bazillion alts. Yes, it's bad to be bazillion when you don't have the time. But at least with low level alts, I can earn extra gold by working on their profession, and then sell stuff to AH. Something I wish I knew when I started. One of my alts already has 25 gold, while being only level 20. I can't recall any of my 70s having that many at that level. :p

Oh, and with alts, at least they level a lot faster. So I can have the 'satisfaction' of 'going somewhere'. Even if it's simply from say, 14-15.

I've been lazy. I'm barely into level 72 and I suspect I'll be there for a while. Like Sim, Finals besiege me. I just got finished with a Literature exam which I'm pretty sure jsut kicked my ass. Oh well.

There's always WoW to console me.

I'm up to 7 best in slot items now ; ).

Kind of odd to threadjack my own thread but does anyone have the tankDK talents? I hate to say it but Im not smart enough to play the points right on my own without help.

DK is 5/5/5 and whatever else you want. The main mitigation tools are in the 11 pointers and a few specific tools later on in the tree you like.

Deaths Knights are designed to be able to both tank and DPS in the same tree, just with different styles. Currently at lower gear levels Frost is best, but Unholy is decent for higher gear levels. That will change soon though.

DK tanking is about managing your Cooldowns more than managing your spec. If you need gear advice, thats a different matter entirely. :) Just ask if you want to know, tanking is one of my favorite activities.

Well, truthfully my Main is stuck at 55. I started with a priest, not the best class for a beginner to lvl, and a few weeks before wrath i gave up on him and decided to make a DK my main........

While fun to begin with, the overall amount of DKs in Hellfire ruined it for me, also after so many weeks of fighting to level my priest alone ( friends Wouldn't help) I got used to ranged attacks and some downtime between mobs...

Now I'm back to my priest and..... I cant really work up the energy for it. I think I might be done with WOW.

I'm finding myself turned off with Northrend to be honest. It's why my 71s are... still 71s.

The quest are easy. But tedious. Made worse by the slow leveling. Which I expected but...

I've been pretty much stuck in one zone. Three of four quest being completed and barely any movement with the level bar is not helping me enjoy the game any better. Yes they are easy. Yes I know Blizzard does not want people to level up fast (even though if you know how to do the quest, you could marathon it and get to 80 relatively fast). But I don't have the time to just leisurely spend four hours to get half way towards 72. Much less the patience.

So the end result, I've been playing what should be considered my alts. And those alts are slowly becoming my 'mains' (mainly my 42 Human Rogue on Darrowmere. A character that I thought I would never play for any significant time on a server I thought I all but abandoned). While I will never abandon my 71s, and I do eventually want to see my 71s become 80s, I just don't have the desire to get there that quickly.

Which zone did you go to to start with, Borean Tundra or Howling Fjord? Because everything I've heard puts Borean Tundra as a terrible place to start leveling in Northrend (even though thats where I started, I didn't really like it, and ended up doing dungeons until I leveled up enough to get out of there).

I'm now 75, about 200k away from 76.

Started in Howling Fjord.

Generally speaking, it isn't a bad place to level, the quest are quick and you can get to them quickly without traveling too far. It's just, there are a ton of quest. Traveled to almost every aspect of the zone just to get to 71... and there are still quite a few quest before I finish up. Excluding the dungeon which I have yet to do.

Yes, I could in theory move on into a different zone now, but I'm one of those people that generally like to finish up a zone, before moving on.

And now theres an achievement that will let you know when you finished it!

But... for serious... you should do both. Head over to Torean Bundra after you finish Howling Fjord and quest there. Then do Dragonblight, then Grizzly Hills, then Sholazar, then Storm Peaks. If you still arent 80, do Icecrown.

For the love of all that is holy, don't do Zuldrak. And if you MUST do that zone, make sure you're 77+ with an epic flier/cold weather flying.

It might be different now, seeing as instance grinding is a possible route for leveling, but back when the rush to 80 started, that was the quickest path.

Hmmmm, what's your problem with Zul'Drak?

My suggested zone order for characters already Lvl 70 (BC characters)

Borean Tundra (ugly, boring, but much easier to get to places than the Fjord) (left at lvl 72)
Dragonblight
Grizzly Hills
Zul'Drak
Sholazar Basin (I hit 77 v. early here - went in with 60k xp missing to 77 ;D)
Storm Peaks (dinged 80 here)
Icecrown (yes, even if you are 80, DO THE QUESTLINES IN ICECROWN. THEY ARE MADE OF MAGNIFICENT EPIC AWESOME WIN in most cases)

My suggestion for new characters, entering northrend at L88
Howling Fjord
Borean Tundra (putting you at l72 and in proximity to dragonblight)
Dragonblight
G. Hills
Zul'Drak
Sholazar
Storm Peaks
Icecrown

Zul'drak sucks.

The big one.

Especially without a flier.

Its bearable with one, but if I had to do that zone on foot... Ugh.

Well, I spent a good two-three hours to get to... 50% towards 72.

<_<

Guess I'll eventually quest in Borean Tundra for a bit after I do most of the quest in Howling Fjord. At least get to 72 before trying out the zones outside the 'beginning' ones.

I only got to 70 with my 1st character just as WoTLK came out but before i went to Northrend i wanted to get the second level of the flying skill so to get the 5000g i have been doing the daily quests on Quel danas for the last three weeks.

I make about a thousand gold a week and just got to lvl76 yesterday without ever having to go to Northrend, the problem with this method is that it gets repetitive cause doing the same 20+ q's everyday takes up all my time for WoW but also any gear ovet 70 i want has to be bought from the AH meaning it will take longer to reach the 5 grand.
