Random phantom.
Actually I *was* talking about the PS2. It may cost just 150 dollars in the US, but with taxes, bringing it to this country, and the different monetary values, it costs at least three times more on South America.

And I can't find GBA games here. I only got Riviera because of internet, and PokÚmon was due to the finding of it in Paraguay. Everything else? I can't pay for them.

Ahh, you live in Africa, now it makes a bit more sense, well then unless you're uber rich, you're most likely fucked, Africa is the most fucked continent on the planet so I feel bad for you that you gotta grow up there.

Uhh, Izzy, unless I'm really mistaken, South America != Africa.

That said, Africa is a fucked country.

You mean continent. :p

And yes, Africa is fucked up. South America is next, but if I had to choose, I'd rather live in South America than Africa.

Ahh sorry, I read very quickly and I read that as South Africa not South America, sorry about that. But still, I wouldn't think it would be so bad in South America, I thought everything was really cheap there. And AFrica is a continent not a country and yes it would suck massively to live there.

Heh. Read more slowly, d00d.

On an unrelated note, I caught Random1377 on AIM, and asked him if he'd like to join. I gave him the URL. The rest is now up to him... if he wants to join, then he will. :)

Damn, I've been scanning for him a lot recently but it seems like he's disappeared off of AIM recently so I hadn't been able to catch him yet, an illusive prey is he. Glad somebody managed to snag him.

Well, he apparently signed up, because I saw his handle in the user list a few minutes ago.

Besides, GOTTA SNAG 'EM ALL! :D

Heh, yah, now all we gotta do is wait for him to get validated, I'm not sure if validation is arbitrated by Hawk directly or is just on a timer but if it is Hawk he'd better get his- (pauses to reconsider the full implications of the Banhammer's awesome might)...err I mean that I hope he gets on soon to validate him. ;) Not to mention I think Random'll find it amusing just how much he is the topic of conversation around here.

Oh on that note, I've been going around talking to a few other notable authors I know and doing some light 'recruiting' you might say so we might be seeing some new faces soon.

Hehehe. Go me! :D </EGO>

EDIT: Hawk really needs to create at least one global moderator to handle validations and general modding when he isn't on. I'd suggest either Israfel, Fatuous One, SimmyC or myself. Possibly Israfel, since he covers hours when usually Hawk isn't on. Me, I have some experience as a mod, but... I get involved in heated discussions too easily, so I'd probably suck. :(

Hehe, thanks for the nomination GH but I'd say that the board will probably need to get a bit bigger before Hawk starts outsourcing tasks to mods, but I'd probably do okay at it because let's face it, I'm on nearly 24/7 and I don't really get involved in arguments (at least very heated ones anyway), but GH and Fatuous One would probably be just as good as well because they are both on almost as much as me and F-One I have yet to see in an argument, though GH would have to work on controlling himself in that particular aspect. :p I would say SimmyC as well but he frankly just isn't on enough, no offence Simmy.

Getting into heated discussion isn't really bad for a moderator. It's simply that you can't abuse your powers, and have the sensibility to end the argument if you think itÆs getting out of hand.

On a side note, I'm actually on almost all the time, as I sometimes briefly browse any new conversations before going back to other things (I have this site on a tab, of likeà 15-25). However, I very much doubt I'd work very well as a Mod.

Oh, and Go GH & Izzy! *waves a flag with TffF on it* Stea- errr, recruit many more authors, even from other sites!

EDIT: Actually Izzy, you'll recall I did get kinda pissed off at Gafgar at one point, due to one of his comments.

Heh, yah, it's just that most other members would be reluctant to go against a mod for fear of getting booted and this sudden dominance could cause the eventual corruption of said mod, you know what they "absolute power corrupts absolutely."

Oh and you'll notice that in our user listings we have "Midknight" who is one of the three admin's over at DLP.

Yah I remember that, but I remember GH as being the main one who was fighting him, you were in there as well but you weren't threatened with the Banhammer like DKG and GH were. So I guess I really am the only one of us who hasn't gotten into a big argument yet, I claim my Kung-Fu Master skills because you'll notice that almost every debate I've gotten into here I've shut down extremely fast or at least defused it.

And I think you and GH's combined assault might've driven DKG off because he hasn't been on in over a month and a half.

Yes, it's a pity really. I didn't have anything against him, just that he made such a thoughtless comment.

And while I wasn't really active in the argument, I did take part in it, I'm not blameless.

Actually, Hawk only threatened Gafgar after a particularly rude comment towards me. I then decided to drop the issue because regardless of how much he may have deserved it, I don't want anyone to be banned because of me. I'm weird like that.

It's one of the reasons why I wouldn't abuse power as a mod. Argue fiercely? Yes. Outright abuse mod power to arbitrarily delete posts just because they don't agree with me? Hell no. I despise that kind of underhanded tactics. If I get in an argument with you, I'll get in your face and slug it out, I won't hide behind mod status.

And that's the bottom line, cause Stone Cold GH said so! *drinks beer*

Ehh, maybe my memory's just getting rusty, but yah if I remember correctly I believe DKG told you to "fuck off" which is the point where Hawk swooped in and afterwards you made some hasty declarations as to your innocence and then all was settled.

And I'm not talking about outright abuse I just mean that people are naturally more hesitant to get into an argument with a mod (for fear of getting banned) and having people always backing down to him could go to the mod's head, wouldn't mean that he'd be outright deleting posts but just that he might be throwing his weight around a bit more and 'bullying' the other board members a bit even. If he did anything like deleting other peoples posts I'm sure he'd be immediately stripped of his mod status and maybe even banned by Hawk which is why I doubt he'd do anything that blatant.

And here we go off topic again. How... Unusual. :)

Validation is done by me. I check in about 2-10 times a day to see if there's any new users that needs approvin' or any accounts that need upgrading to pervert status. And that's just about all I do at those times. pm's that doesn't have "I wanna get into the lemon section" ( or some such ) in the topic line, are put on hold for a rainy day and whatever new additions that seemed to have been made to topics that interest me, are put on hold as well.

Then there's 1-3 times I day when I hop onto TFF to actually read posts and maybe make a comment or two if there's any topic that's actually on topic or one that's off topic but still manages to pique my interest. :)

And so the mysterious workings of Hawk's schedule are revealed!!! Look and be amazed at our admin's daily happenings!

...So wait a minute we have to be ON topic for you to post? Well that explains a lot of things, as it seems like the only off topic things we can discuss that pique your interest are when it's things directly related to you, and we're almost always off-topic so I suppose that clears a lot up. ;)
