Miscellaneous game fanfic ideas

Ahh yes the epic fight between an admin's interest in a topic and need to post within said topic against his sense of responisibility as the admin that he should not further propagate this thread hijacking, a fight that has been going on since the dawn of the internet. Come to the dark side, hijack threads with us, COME!!! Dark side's better, we've got brownies :lol: . *breathing respirator noises* Hawk *whoo-hoo* *whoo-hoo* I, am your father. *le gasp*
h43r: Um, that is unusual. Crossing a series over with say, a game like Kingdom Hearts I can see, but... Rise of Nations?Anyways, at the moment, the only game I've crossed anything over with, was Silent Hill with Teen Titans. Despite the tons of games I've played (admittingly, not as much as most of the people here, but it's still quite a bit. I think. ^_^), none besides Silent Hill have I felt like writing a story on (though Resident Evil did come close). And in turn, don't have a lot of story ideas involving games.
Though maybe I could make a Mario/Silent Hill crossover just for laughs. Just imagine, Mario and Luigi in Silent Hill.

Ok, what are you guys talking about? Negi/Chachamaru is actually a pretty popular pairing, and it's not like the fandom doesn't have oddball pairings in it - I hardly think Mana/Kaede is canon, nor is Mana/Zazie, Negi/Zazie, Evangeline/Zazie... I could go on, but you get the point. (I will mention, however, James Ray Edwards' Blue Blue Glass Moon, Under the Crimson Air, a pretty nice crossover between Love Hina and Negima, as well as a few other series [Bleach, and even a hint of Xenosaga], which is a great place to go for weird pairings - Chachamaru/Nodoka, Setsuna/Keitaro, Setsuna/Our Lady Kanako, etc.)
The problem with the Negima! fandom is that most of it's followers avoid FF.net. I used to lurk around a Negima fansite called Mahora Academy until my hotlink to the site suddenly went 404, I heard they moved servers or something and haven't taken the time to hunt down the new URL. But out of the 1000+ members there, only one of them visits FF.net (OkashiraShinomori), while the rest use alternative websites (or their own). If you look for Negima! fanfiction at someplace other than FF.net, you'll find it.

A new fanfic idea, Final Fantasy 7 AU:
What if Cloud hadn't tried for SOLDIER, but for the TURKS... and succeeded?
This is basically a setup for a possible Cloud/Elena relationship, because I just like Elena. :snigger: Cloud would still be fundamentally a goody-two-shoe deep down, which probably means he'd be the voice of morality in the Turks... with Reno and Rude mostly ignoring him, and Tseng telling him he's too soft. ^_^
There's a whole lot of other things that can happen. Offhand:
1) since the Turks weren't involved in the Mt. Nibel mess, Cloud would never have been there to get Zack's memories or the Sephiroth cells. Also, it's quite possible that he would not recognize Tifa at all, since he hasn't seen her since he was 6 or so.
2) He'd probably end up letting Aeris get away, since chances are he doesn't like Hojo, and if he's sent to 'retrieve' her he'd probably pretend that she managed to lose him.
3) the Sector 5 mess might lead to a breakup inside the Turks, with Cloud going his own way, disgustedby Shinra's actions, and Elena possibly following.
Other thoughts later. Comments?

There's an idea like this on ff.net but it never really took of.

I actually had a similar idea where Lyndis ended up actually taking the Black Fang over from Nergal (assassinating him in the process) swaying both Morphs (Ephidel and Limstella) to her cause, and then forcibly took over Caelin through gratuitious use of lethal force.
Needless to say, this Lyndis is a little less idealistic than the canon one. Losing so many precious people made her very cynical - to give you an idea, her right-hand man is Legault, and she makes large use of both Jaffar and Ephidel as assassins.

I've already mentioned it, but if anyone missed it I've started work on a Ninja Gaiden Black/Love Hina/Negima crossover, with Kanako and Kaede replacing Ryu and Ayame as Kanako heads to Vigoor to slay Doku and avenge Keitaro's death at the Hayabusa village. Expect the first chapter sometime next year.
Here's a game pairing I've always wanted to read: BartzxKrile, from Final Fantasy 5. Maybe I'm just a sucker for spunky tomboys, especially with ponytails (<3 Fio from Porco Rosso), but I always thought their interaction in the short portion of the game when they're alone together was really cute. And come to think of it, they may only be together for a short time in player/onscreen time, but that includes a fairly long overland journey and a possible town stop (IIRC you can visit Tule before Faris rejoins the party)--plenty of "offscreen" time to flesh out in a fanfic.

FF5 had major harem potential--your party, at least in the second half of the game, consists of one male and three females spanning the spectrum of moetude--the strong-willed and kind-hearted heroic princess, the fiery reverse-trap pirate queen, and the animal-telepathic delicious loli. It's a shame the game came out before the "harem" concept took off in Japan. Square Enix could have done so much with it if they made a full remake (ala FF3) instead of just tacking on a bonus dungeon.
Oh well, it just leaves that much more ground for fanfic to cover.
