IE 11 is still listed per Microsoft as the latest version for Windows 7 64 bit.

I use IE as it works far better for me than the dreadful FireFox.

There is no real reason that IE 11 should not work with this board... It has worked fine up to the point of this upgrade.

Also, per NetMarketShare, as of August 2015 more desktop users are on IE 11 than any other browser.

NetMarketShare - Desktop Browser Market Share - Realtime Web Analytics With no Sampling
- https://www.netmarketshare.com/browser-market-share.aspx?qprid=2&qpcustomd=0

IE11 26.9%
IE10 4.26%
IE9 7%
IE8 10.92%

FireFox40 4.45%
FireFox39 4.58%

Chrome44 17.63%

All Other 24.26%

I'd imagine this would be a similar case as to why so many people are subscribed to r/Funny, it's the Default.

Grrr... forum toasted the response again. Try #2

My use of IE is deliberate. I've evaluated most browsers out there for home use at various points over the years... most I've found have enough issues in differing areas to warrant non-use for me. Currently I use IE as the primary, and Avant as a secondary.

When I move to Windows 10, I will likely move to Edge... But I do not plan to upgrade the OS's around my house until at least April next year.

EDIT: So I guess I have to ask... is it MyBB/Icyboards stance that they are not supporting IE11 under Windows 7?

I don't think you understand what deprecated means. Flash is deprecated. A lot of people still use it, but they shouldn't- because when it breaks, there's no more development.

So posting how many people use IE blah blah doesn't matter to me, especially when windows inflates their numbers by forcing IE user agents on everything it can get away with.

Having 26% of browser users using the same browser as you just means 26% of browser users are fucking up.

Either grab Edge for windows 7 or get a browser that isn't godawful.

SQL Error:1064 - You have an error in your SQL syntax; check the manual that corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to use near '' at line 1
Not sure that this is old news or something new.
But it's the first time I've seen that since the upgrade.

You need to go update your knowledge then. IE is deprecated, and support for everything but enterprise editions end in a few months.

I still seem to be missing the editing bar in the reply box (i.e. fonts, font sizes, etc) for PMs. Any news on this?

According to my User CP, I've actually lost a number of posts. It says I'm at 4970 (as of this post), but I hit my 5000th post a few weeks ago. Is the board removing posts? Were some of my posts deleted for reasons I'm currently unaware of?

EDIT: my 5000th post was here.

Yeah, I remember that. But would that cause the board to downgrade the number of posts I've made, despite the fact that I've never deleted posts/threads, and that it happened after you rebuilt the cache?

I'm not computer-smart, so I gotta ask.

No It would have adjusted your posts on other people who have deleted threads that you have posted in.
A similar thing happened IIRC when we migrated.
But 5K post is a worthy achievement. seeing I haven't broken 1K in nearly 10 years.

... Of course. I didn't think that through. No threads, no posts to count.

Thanks for pointing that out, T.L.

It's why I've always been vehemetly against deleting threads and posts. We all, every one of us, lose content.

Hey Wata, any feedback about those SQL errors when searching for posts?

Not yet. It's purely because I've slacked off on reporting the rest of the issues though; my cousin's getting married this weekend. I'll be making a comprehensive "help me" post on icyboards sometime after then at the latest. Hoping for before, but I'm not sure I've got the brainpower to do it anytime soon. Sorry! :unsure!:

Maybe they'll refix their post screen for IE users, since they re-broke it... I stopped my partial updates thread on this forum, and I've been forced to limit myself to the quick response box rather than deal with that screen.

Test Win 10 Edge

How is it broken?
Sorry I don't have IE but Win10 Edge seems to be perfectly fine.

The last time I had to do some searches I tracked it down, at least in part. Here's an example of the offending SQL:
SELECT tid FROM thefanfictionforum_threads WHERE tid IN(15538,159,8292,159,8292,350,55) AND (visible < 1 OR ((fid IN(29) AND uid!=14552) OR fid IN ('135') OR closed LIKE 'moved|%')
I'm pretty sure that the bold stuff is what's causing the trouble

Concerning current forum.

The screen does not word wrap, this is annoying.

Please fix this in some way that you can.

Your words do not help pinpoint your problem. Here are some questions that might provide helpful information.

Are you on mobile or desktop?
Which OS are you using?
What browser?
Do you have a screenshot of the problem?
Have you tried clearing your cache and cookies?
