And that's pretty much is for me. There's a few DxD crossovers I'm watching, but that's mainly to see if there'es any good ideas for me to use :huh.:

Also, I pretty much stopped looking for pure Naruto fics awhile ago, so it's mainly crossovers I'm watching.

on the other hand i mostly read pure Naruto fics, mostly divergent or AU.

I actually when not reading a fic that just updated just look through the Naruto section and, if a fic interests me, I follow it, even if it doesn't have as much quality as the ones shared here.

But most of them are crossovers, because the section itself is mostly filled with:

•  OCxHotGuy/Girl(rarely) (enough said),
• NaruHina (was overused even before being the official couple),
• SasuSaku (the story as a whole ruined the appeal of the pairing to me, nevermind it being official),
• SasuNaru/NaruSasu (neither is my cup of tea, not much into yaoi. Once read a good one before knowing what Yaoi even was, and could even ignore the fact it was a pairing-focused one for being so well-written, but never met a good one again.)

or

• AUs that seem to be mostly "these people in the real world, not really as much an AU as just using the name and appearance of the characters to draw attention to my original romance story"... most of the time, poorly combined with some of the above.

I started sealkeeper. But this first chapter has me wondering. What could possibly justify Kushina abandoning one of her children, with no money, no food, no clothes, and no housekey? Without spoiling much, is there at least a good reason for her behavior in the first chapter?

It's at least partially justified later, yes.

Okay, I'm a few chapters in now, and I like it, but this has two huge glaring flaws: Every adult character in this story is a moron, and I get the feeling most of the beginning chapters are to set up a harem of pedophiles later in the story. I'm still enjoying it though.

Well, you're not wrong. My biggest gripe with the story, is that Naruto is a genderbent side character, and the protagonist is a red haired, purple eyed OC.

well, that is because not many know that he has ties with the Ex-GOdfather(who is now the Godmother and wants to noink her little prince... because he/she/it is that creepy) and NINO stole a good chunk of his 'Not-Root' from him.
he is seen as competent because he 'doesn't' try to coerce or control (at least is not being blunt about it) NINO and he offers 'advise'.
IMHO he seems competent because he doesn't plot against NINO and thus the author can't justify his fall and he is not being obsessed with "POWAH to THA TREE and by tree i mean Me".
OTOH Kakashi creeps me out even more than Orochiwhatsitsface or seemingly competent Danzo.
