Just read 193, and amazingly enough Natsumi seems to be in the town they're in. Or was a very short time ago. But how in hell did she get there. She's given no hint of being magical, and she wasn't one of the four ordinary girls who got sucked along for the ride.

That begs another question. How many other students are in the magical world on their own? And how did they get there.

Oh, and you have the big news that Negi and his group are being blamed for Fate's actions. Being wanted, Negi and Kotaru are using magic to appear older and Chisame is doing the same to appear younger. And Chachamaru has changed into a younger body, officially making her one of the top fetish girls in the series.
Natsumi tagged along with the sports girls. I went back and took a head count that included the sports girls and the cheerleaders when they followed Negi and the others into the fog and there was one more person. It ended up being Natsumi.

Heh, Negi is stirring the bee hive by using his father's name as an alias, simultaneously giving Chisame and Kotaro a heart attack. Nasumi definitely seems to be digging the older Kotaro, despite her complaining about it which is sweet. Akira seems to have recovered from having her world broken lol.

It's kind of nice to see the sports girls getting some screen time while the main partners are still about... at the very least the rest that have yet to be found can at least defend themselves pretty handily.

chapter 198 is out, and 197 is translated

we see what negi's true motive for using his father's name, as well as the repercussions for doing so, also we find out what happened to two more of the stowaways.

Fate seems to be setting up for something really big too. The only thing that bothers me is that I did not think he was powerful enough to manage this much shit. While he was skilled enough to escape against Eva, he had no chance of beating her.

Now, we see him leading a large scale attack on the entire magical world. He's severed nearly all of the portals to earth, and managed to get Negi blamed for it.

On the plus side, the big guy from Nagi's group has finally shown up. My guess is that we'll see him fighting Negi in the tournament.

It isn't the powerful villian shit that pisses me off, it's the fact that he blamed Negi for it, which is...ugh...there were witnesses, that is so ungodly stupid that he did that.

There were people that saw Negi get run through, before the attack on the portals, and didn't get killed. So, how the hell could they have get Negi blamed for it.

Because, ni, people are mindless sheep. They believe what they want to believe.

On the other hand, perhaps Fate, or one of his pals, used some sort of brainwashing spell...

hm... well there were a few witnesses though they don;t seem to have spoken up and the video feed shown globally was showing Negi doing it so it probably got out of hand too fast for the truth to even come out. On another note I'm pretty sure the guy assulting Negi in this latest chapter was the shadow user from the gate assault. Negi said he had the same powers as Takane(SP?) the shadow user from the campus. He also has a somewhat similar look even if we never saw the shadow users face at the gate.

The problem is that the witnesses were all government workers which means that they would all submit that in their report of the event, unless they were purposefully trying to frame Negi, or unless there was the threat of death on them all, or they are all dead. Which means either Fate has some connections to the upper crust of the government of the place, or he did as David said, and brainwashed them.

Also, it would be more likely that they would cover up the fact that a group managed to get into a heavily secured facility and destroy it, all with barely any resistance from their forces. Eventually they would put bounties, but they wouldn't want that kind of thing to get out.

It has ways for it to work, but right now it just feels like he was trying to create a "whole world against them" scenario which are generally weak in the first place. The only time I have seen that scenario really well done was with Berserk, and that....is a place I don't like to go often.

198 is out on onemanga.

Out of curiosity, wouldn't the forced teleportation spell that hit AA also have hit any witnesses? The other people there might not be available for comment.

Perhaps the witnesses in the security room have been...silenced, (for all we know, they weren't teleported and had free reign to butcher the survivors) and that's why TT and Mana are there, to act as Donnette's bodyguards while she tried to find evidence that hasn't been doctored? She looked really ragged last time we saw her.

Akamatsu's letting his love for Nasuverse show again......

First, Asuna's Saber cosplay...then Negi's Archer cosplay......now a freakin UBW/GOB carbon copy!!

The sword spam technique is quickly reaching iconic status! :yay:

Heh, this new member of the crimson wing is pretty badass... pulled 'gates of babylon' with the rain of swords. Negi has a habit of finding strong masters it seems. Flustered Setsuna brought a chuckle to me, though I have to admit the first scenes really showed the kendo girl as quite the beauty... the dialouge makes me thing that Setsuna's wings are similar to Chachamaru's key. and our favorite lesbien stalker has returned.

Chibi-Kazumi... I was su sure that chisame had the chibi cuteness covered but oh my god Kazumi is so cute. I do wonder how that artifact camera worked. it seems she got a picture of her own pactio kiss. age decieving pills have got to be the most fun gimick in any manga I've seen. I love it.

Just caught up with ch. 200 myself and, well, there's something that's starting to get to me a bit.

Ever since Negi and Co. arrived in the Magical World; the manga seems to be driven less by plot and more by fetishes and fan service. I mean, in the last chapter alone we have implied shoujo-ai, naked girls with wings, furries, and several moe's.

Not that I'm saying that there is a problem, mind you. I know that Ken Akamatsu likes the fan service (and I do too :cumdrool: ); but I also like the plot!

I personally think that it's time that Ken Akamatsu dials back from 11 on the fan service (back to the 8 where it normally is  ) and to get back to the ass kickary.

Argh... I completely forgot where I was in the manga, and now I have to start over from the beginning... this is going to take a while.

However it seems to be working in my favor. Funnily enough, Konoka's Grandfather asks Negi if he has a girlfriend the moment he arrives, and then offers him his granddaughter, though she hits him on the head with a hammer. I'd completely forgotten that scene.

I think Akamatsu is trying to pass up his previous level of fanservice with each 100th chapter. I mean, remember the lingire from chapter 100? 200 is even better.

And I think he was just trying to figure out what each of the characters would go through while trying to get back together and his ideas were nice and perverted. And there's nothing wrong with that. The plot is moving slowly, but it's still going strong with the introduction of the big guy.

And yes, Setsuna is hot.

Honestly? For once, the Pervert Eyes were turned off when I saw Setsuna. What passed through my head wasn't "I'd hit it!", but rather, "That's beautiful, it is."

And then the shoujo-ai arrived to shatter the tableaux.

Yep. Angels will do that to ya.

On a side note, AQS' joke was hilarious.

201 is out on onemanga.

It seems Kazumi and Chachamaru are leaving to find the other members of the white wings while Negi, Chisame and Kotaro are staying with the indentured girls. Negi seems to have chosen BSG for training due to his "stupidity-power" that he's been lacking.

For some reason, this conversation kept creeping into my head after reading 201

Chisame: What's she all excited about? This photo doesn't look THAT ecchi.
Kazumi: That's because Negi's hands got cropped out.
Chisame::blink:

looks like yue's showing up in the next chapter. and Big-sword-guy is giving Negi a lecture on power levels. Negi's fighting power seems to be about two and a half tanks.

Once again, chibi-Kazumi is ridiculously cute the Sayo doll only adds to it. I find the fact that they have pactio photo booths in magic world amusing, if odd. seeing negi and Chisame at their normal ages again is kind of suprising, was getting used to the flipped ages I guess. Chisame seems to have really mellowed her attitude through out this arc, she shaping up as one of the front runners for Negi it seems.

Looks like we'll get to start seeing more of the others at least which should be fun.

Haha. Watching that guy work on designing finishing moves for Negi was hilarious. Negi Eternal Fever was my favorite.

Well, finally hit the forties. I don't remember where, but there was talk earlier about Nodoka's ability being Nerfed, but rereading the chapter, it's apparent that first she needs the name of the person whose mind she reads before the book will show it to her. Before she could read Kotarou's mind, she asked him his name beforehand by first introducing herself. I'm not sure if that explains why it was seemingly nerfed (As I haven't gotten to the parts where it shows up again), but it seems like a pretty good limit for such a devastating ability. :huh.:

That's true. Plus, as of now, she can only read what the target person is thinking. That's how they got everyone out of that trap; she asked Kotarou how (the whole 'pink elephants' thing). And we yet to know what kind of range she has...for all we know, in the current story arc; she might be half a world away, but she knows what Negi is thinking.

What makes me curious, however, is that Nodoka's pactio card shows several books on it, not just the one she's been using...

she did use multiple books during the badge contest, she used four books to read four girls minds at once so she and Yue for find a good escape route.
