I don't dislike either Lord Raine or GenocideHeart. I think of LR as a friend (albeit the sort of friend that makes you facepalm with some degree of regularity), I can't really say the same about GH, since I don't interact with him all that often, to be honest. I also think it's adorable when the two furious little furballs Tsuntsun each other. (Or for a homestuck reference, wax black for one another)

Pretty sure it was Shirotsume who said he likes messing with you, not quite my style to just out and say it like that, even if I do so enjoy making the toys dance for me.

But yeah, when I first started coming to TFF regularly I HATED Lord Raine. Hated with the fury of a thousand red hot burning stars. For a time I was gutting him practically hourly in any number of debates (using the term extremely loosely), evolution, theology, his/her gender, bluh bluh whatever, etc.

But over time I started to get a feel on how his head works, and he stopped being such a stubborn bastard and I felt less need to froth at the mouth in his presence. And from there somehow developed a friendship of sorts, still not sure how that happened, I'm convinced mind control was involved at some point.

I can't remember the last time I actually argued with him. It's not because I'm sucking up though, it's because I either think he's right, can't say a damn thing on the subject or just don't give a shit (or occasionally don't need to because someone else is already on the scene doing a better job then I). So usually any intervention on my part is either on his behalf or to smack him in the back of the head when he steps out of line. He'd probably have to go out of his way and specifically try to piss me off to get me revved up again and trying to take his head as a trophy. Not sure if I'd win, but LR wouldn't leave unscathed.

That said, I tend to defend LR more often for no other reason than that he is attacked far more often over far more trifling matters. People remember past butthurt and get their dicks out to try for another fruitless pissing contest at the slightest provocation. I wish we would all learn to come into each new debate or argument fresh-minded and not yammer on about each other (specifically against LR) like a bunch of empty-headed gossips.

To be fair, Raine does nothing to endear himself to the rest of the forum, so it's really hard to change your mind about him.

People piling up on him today is a direct consequence of him provoking them into doing so. If you punch a hornet nest, you don't really expect the hornets to not decide to sting the fuck out of you, right? And you don't expect them to stop just because you stopped, right? It's that thing with hornets where once you piss them off, unlike bees, they won't be content with just chasing you off, they'll pincushion you.

And GH, I've seen LR act genial, mainly because I've been in his chat. Maybe it's cause I've not been on your forum or whatever (You're the one that went and made a fanfiction forum for everything not-naruto, right?) but I've yet to actually see you post as anything but angry. That I remember, anyway.

To be fair though, i tend to stay away from threads you post in- they're generally flame wars for one reason or another.
