Yeah, but neither Tenchi nor Evangelion were marketed almost at all. Naruto has toys, games, card games, and so on, as does Yu-Gi-Oh, and to a certain extent, Yu Yu Hakusho. Inuyasha I won't even go into. Bleach hasn't been around long enough yet, but it also appeals to a slightly narrower spectrum of people then the others do.

Anyway, Tenchi, Evangelion, and Bleach are all missing two things that the higher-ranking ones have: Mass marketing, and hordes of Yaoi fangirls. Even getting shown on TV won't get as big an influx if there isn't a horde of annoying YFs behind it.

The Bleach fanfiction section is so tainted by fangirls that not even bleach could clean it. It's quickly approaching Inuyasha/Gundam Wing levels of suck.

Tenchi is relatively safe, since in most of the series there is only one main male protagonist, so there is no-one notable to ship him with who isn't either his grandfather or an enemy.

Of course, if the Yaoi-fangirls ever get their hands on GXP... <_<

The Dark Lords of Nerima
[RanmaSM crossover] Ranma and Ryouga are no strangers to trouble. But when they accidentally convince both the Senshi and the Dark Kingdom that they're megalomaniacal villains bent on world domination, trouble starts to take on a whole new meaning.

He said they're a blessing on whatever tickles their fancy. It makes sense. Without them there would be no Kirk/Picard stories. They are the sole reason such exist. Whether or not that's a good thing doesn't lessen their importance in that matter.

Meh, it has Ryoga of all people as protagonist, and that's worse than "Meh" in my opinion.

Actually, I rather like it. It's also nice to see something that doesn't start with Ranma, like 90% of all fanfiction for this catagory. I mean, jeeze, there ARE other characters.

But Ranma does show up, and it does seem to be building pretty nice. And it was a nice contrast to all the *Godly Martial Artists vs Youma* or *Martial Arts are Useless vs Youma* that seem to compromise every Ranma SM fic out there (save for a very, very few, like this one and, oh, Youma 1/2)

Chapter 17 features Nabiki with a heavy cameo by Miyuki and Natsumi from You're Under Arrest.

Heh... caught that earlier. I like the description the chief gave for Nerima, and Aoi's reaction to hearing that. I do wonder what the other ward is, likely Juuban.

Reminds me a bit of 'Dark King Ascending' by SoftRogue. Where the Inners are discussing Nerima, and Saturn goes: "Setsuna-mama told me that I wasn't suppose to go there. Even if I was transformed." Then Usagi goes: "Wow!" Usagi exclaimed. "So, when are we going?"


Sigh... wish Softrogue would continue that one. I *still* reread that one form time to time.

Minthil's Far Travellers has updated. I know at least two people on this forum liked the story enough to review the last chapter (even if I didn't. Bad me.)

For those that haven't read it, it's got quite a few grammatical errors, but the basic storyline is nice. Some bashing present.

Well ... so it did, though personally I awaited something more, but JohnnyG did usually end his stories somewhat in a rush, or at least it left that impression on me
