Trimatter is an author I avoid because he turns Ranma into an emo wuss, or a girl, or both. From what I've seen of this story so far, it's basically no different. I used to have some level of hope that this story wouldn't turn out like that but I stopped thinking there was any chance of it months ago. Genma is right: his son is dead and buried. What's left is a walking corpse with no real relation to Ranma.

I read the latest chapter without rereading the previous ones and found it interesting enough. So, Ranma's going through sensitivity training. Or something like that. Sure, he's not going to be the same macho, arrogant, martial arts jock he used to be. It's something like dragging Ranma into the real world - and to be frank, Ranma doesn't really belong in the real world without making some major character changes. I found that perspective interesting. He didn't seem particularly emo-wussy to me in this chapter. Given the author, I suppose Girl!Ranma isn't unlikely to show up, and I generally avoid those. Oh well.

Normally I don't likr trimatters stuff much either but from everything shown so far this isn't a Girl!Ranma but a Balanced!Ranma. Of course if he does go the girl route, :flameon: well thats what flames are for.
And this is definity not wussy Ranma just because he can't get over the fact that he missed 20years with a snap of his fingers, if he did do that you, me and everyone else would be calling bullshit on that to.

From what I can see of the latest chapter, Ranma and his family are moving somewhere else... I don't remember exactly where Kaname's high school is, but it seems that he'll meet Kaname and Sousuke through the high school. He might even join their class. I suppose we'll have to wait until the next chapter...

I'm pretty sure that this is a 'love it or or hate it' story for most people here. I don't particularly love it, but I think it is a good read for the most part.

^^^ I don't love it or hate, I just avoid it. I tried to read it, then had some warnings about what was going to happen so I skipped ahead to make sure and I pretty much had to pluck out my eyes in horror and ickyness...gives me *shudders* just thinking of it. Ranma willingly screwing Ryoga....shudder...*sob* the horror! *sob* the horror! Okay so no hate or love, just being afraid I'm going to go read some JL fanfic that'll make me feel better and forget this....(should actually be working while I'm at work....meh)....

Meh... I stopped reading it somewhere in book 2 back when it came out. My issue was that although I liked the initial setup, and even liked the shrink at first, I grew to dislike him as things seemed to be going too smooth IMHO.
Also, while I liked the idea of Ranma consulting a shrink, and seeking one out in fustration and needing input. It lost its appeal when everyone started going.
Personally, for those type of stories, I perfer reading N Reynolds or Richard Lawson. Only issue with N Reynolds (and he has admitted it), is Ranma comes off as too smart.

Not that I would be considered a quality writer but I have been busy lately. When I get around to finishing my work there might be an explosion of updates from me, but as I said, I am not a name like Ozzallos, Fosfor, Trimater or sarge; so I doubt that counts. I think I noticed a trend of more writing being done with naruto and that may be where all our writers went.

Ranma fanfiction really seems to be at a low right now. I mean, new AA episodes are more interesting than most stories published on ff.net.
Ah well, maybe people will see the light and realize that Naruto sucks and return to writing quality Ranma fanfiction again.
Then again, when I hear what people say about Naruto fanfiction, I'm not so sure if that would be a good thing.

But I'm pretty sure Naruto won't have the longevity that Ranma has. It should be noted, Ranma and a couple others are a bit dicey, since they also are in many cases in various other catagories, such as Anime Crossovers, since it is so popular to cross it. So the numbers are not as concrete as they would seem.
As for myself, Ranma, Neon Genesis, Love Hina, Tenchi, and Oh My Goddess would be the top categories I read. None of which are on any of the top 10 above.

Most of the really good stuff is not on FFN, As the authors often only post them on their own sites.
On the other hand, every series that is played on Cartoon Network gets thousands of crappy fanfic authors. You notice how all of the FFN top ten anime have been played on American Television?

Actually... I took the crossover catagories into account as separate categories. They were not as part of their main categories. As such, they were not large enough to enter into top alone.
As for Ranma not being all on FanFiction.NET. I realize that, but you must understand that even with all the scattered Ranma sites out there, plus the AA, and the FFML, the available Ranma stories IMHO cannot match the numbers of stories for series like Naruto.
As for the main ones being due to ones getting onto television and generating tons of wannabe but bad authors. That I agree to, but only to an extent. Tenchi for example really did not have that big an influx in comparison. Ranma has not, and I cannot see ever, being shown on network TV series. NGE I recall once being shown in a limited fashion in a special even on TV, though I never bothered watching it that way, since I have the DVD's.
