because Moka (well this version of Evil/original Moka at least) is smart and her character found a good meatshield that she can use not only to not die, but to win and to amuse herself at his cost, there is no romance there, just a smart (or at least less stupid) character wanting to win the game, OTOH both Ranma and Moka IIRC care for one another as something akin to friendship (with bouts of wanting to kill eachother, but that also is parto of Ranma's definition of friendship).

Nope. Washer explodes, player dies. There was too much damage inflicted at once. Kouma's lawyer was only level 1, after all.
Of course, to those paying close attention (not that you have much reason to), it would seem like Yukari was deliberately orchestrating events to kill him off. She was probably annoyed that her earlier attempt failed thanks to absurd thinking on Ranma's part.
Genius GMs are tricky like that.

Were you ever GM/DM? I was. Let me tell you, Id never let my players get out of RIP situation with something as easy as ambulance fetching over a defibrilator, much less with "did I say dead?He actually lived... barely". Nothing short of epic quest would let them off a hook, and even that is doubtful. They might get an idea their GM is actually less than fully divine B)

On the other hand, if there is only one omake to go, babysitting has its appeal, especially if yukari can bring in someone to play the brat... errr, baby. Imagine what potential is there in Saffron, or *shudder* Richard :evil2:, fullfilling a role of hellspawned annoyance they are paid to watch for. Not to mention having Richard there would be excellent way to wrap the mini-series (by causing enough damage to ban RPGing in YA for next millenium).

How about a final kick in the teeth for the dead PC, the kid the others babysit is the his Nephew/Niece?

This way while Kouma is "dead" for a session he also has to try and keep his relative from being GMed off.

Hmm, Kouma performing his own funeral. LOL. But since I brought it up, I'm biased. So I vote babysitting. It has more chances for shenanigans to happen compared to attending a funeral.

On related note, how about using well known tradition of paper RPG, of bullyi... errr, convincing your fellow players to roll classes they do not like, but are convenient for whole party? Kouma is enough of a butt monkey to get forced into rolling undertaker or priest who will perform the rite (although the latter might be too much considering he's a hellhound in RL).

Well, actually, I'm torn between having the players actually attend the funeral and bringing Kouma back (your idea is quite clever) or having the party get out of it and move on to something more mundane (which is, of course, the theme here), probably the babysitting thing.

In either case, the next session will be the last one in this omake. I'm running out of irony.

If I may submit a vote for a friend, who I've been emailing copies of these omakes to, he'd like to vote for babysitting. And for the record, he's a tabletop game fan and has been immensely enjoying the snippets.

He COULD, though it's traditional for the DM to play the part of the NPCs (Non-Player Characters), rather than making an (ex)player do it.
Besides, I have a different batch of jokes for Kouma.
