Enemies/Rivals: Lolth - First cultist worshippers were spiders, nuff said. Must have a scene where a 2nd ed. Drider is sent after him and manages to grant it increased sentience enough that it decides to worship him instead of trying to kill him.
I thought that part of the drider's curse was that their mind was left alone, so they could remember what they lost.

In the older editions, becoming a drider was a curse on those that failed a test of Lolth. Drow pride themselves on their appearence, and driders' upper body was a genderless, fat lump in humanoid form.

Yeah, that was cool.
In the new edition, it's a gift given to those who PASS the test of Lolth.
It's not like it makes more sense one way or the other, but it's a complete reversal of the creature's origin. It also reduces Lolth's Evil street cred when her people actually BENEFIT from their worship rather than simply avoiding tragedy some of the time. Part of what makes the Drow intimidating is their success despite having just about every power in creation, including themselves, stacked against them.

New edition has becoming a Drider a gift from Lolth?

Thank all nine-levels of hell my group stuck to 3.5

Given the power of a drider, and that most people forgot that the curse disfigured them, they did make being a drider a blessing.

Plus, given Lolth's liking of spiders, it makes sense that she'd give that form as a blessing instead of a curse. If she weren't insane she'd make more sense. I believe she even made someone who hated everything she represented, and didn't believe that the gods were actual people instead of concepts, into one of her Chosen. To disrupt drow society.

Meh, I prefer Lolth as being pointlessly vindictive, treacherous, and destructive to insane. Insanity has always been Evil's short bus; a mechanism for committing Evil for those who don't have the sense to make other people suffer for their benefit.
That said, I agree that it still makes sense. If someone worshipping a spider goddess turns part spider, it's a bit counterintuitive to start wailing about it.

He would be devastated to know that he wasn't some sort of martial god, though that makes the "thinks his portfolio is stupid" bit much sweeter.
I'm not entirely sure what you mean by him keeping Ryoga and Mousse from "expanding their consciousness". Is that a dig at their general lack of character growth?

Also, I didn't know 2nd ed driders were particularly dim creatures. Does the transformation drive them insane or something?
Yes, it was a dig at their inability to undergo character growth. :p

Anyways, as far as the drider comment is concerned, the only game I ever played seemed to feature them as stupid creatures. . . but it has been a while since I played it.

As for Ranma's portfolio, it's only really apparent on creatures of an animal intelligence, but the portfolio still boils down to the first step of enlightenment. Thus, if he wanted to (and he was in one of the DnD settings) he could theoretically prevent any cleric from getting their first level as a cleric and leave them stuck as 'Acolytes' for their entire lives. Same for the Monks and any Ki powers they would have otherwise achieved.

I visited TV Tropes. Tsukune and Moka are the God and Goddess of Battle Couples.

What. The. Fuck?!
God's on the battle what now?
What section is that in?

People still go to TV Tropes?
Of course they do!
Mostly to lavish further praise upon Big Human on Campus! You should do so as well!

That was weird. What does it have to do with tropes?
It read like some kind of twisted love child of Facebook and ff.net.

Eh, it's a big fanboying of characters. Just look at entries like Asura. Everyone gets hopped up on, 'Oh my god that's no friggin badass' and wants to tout their favorite character's horn.

And some War between characters. I mostly remember the graphic rape of some loli that was extremely unsettling. Maybe Vivio or something.

Also, holy Crap Guardian has proper spacing! Squeeeeeeeee!

Doesnt look like it.

BD. Didnt you say something about a romantic scene in this chapter or something? because if that was it it hardly qualifies.

Hey, for me, that was the closest thing to a real romance scene I've gotten since that one part in Yagami 1/2 that I quickly turned into a fight scene instead!
These things are all relative.

I had an idea after reading the spider chapter. Keito should have a younger sister that shows up during season 2, and she should worship Ranma like the other spiders do. Then he can have a line of communication between his underlings and himself. The spiders might like a demi-god that is on their side unlike Keito.

Is Evil Moka ever going to think about sexually dominating Ranma? She could easily be all tsuntsun for him.

Is pinky Moka going to get a new name, like Useless Moka or something?

LOL, what is it with everyone wanting a Moka/Ranma connection?

Not I.

I do like Moka... but I've got to say its down right refreshing that Ranma and Tsukune's dearest parasite barely tolerate each other/have outright hostilities (when Evil Moka is up and running).

Anything that ever looks like romance between them ever should at most be incidental, awkward, unwanted and brief. Most likely ending up with one or both in the medical ward spitting venom from across the room. (A lovely image i know...)

I agree. I think there's much more mileage to be had with Ranma and Inner Moka at each other's throats than otherwise.

Also, if Inner Moka ends up trying to murder Ranma when they get to Nerima, there's a good chance or genuine hatred being mistaken for affection. That right there is comedy gold.

Also, the animosity and certainty that Moka will try to put Ranma in the medical ward is incentive to not let her out, and keeps the protagonists from being unstoppable on the battlefield.

I never said he had to want it, or that she would actually do it. Just that she would think about it, or potentially have nightmares about it. Not sure if she can dream or not, but some nightmare where she is all deredere would be amusing, for us. Or the nightmare could be on Ranma's side.

Since the Rosario created Useless Moka, would it have any affect if placed on someone else?

Nah, pretty sure the Rosario is a custom dealie. Bloodsuckers only.
And even then, I doubt it would effect any vampire other than Moka. It's like a big THING in the second series, supposedly.

I kinda gave up on the second series after the Vampire Mafia and Dracthulu.

Suspension of disbelief will only get you... okay, in my case I guess it'll get you pretty darn far, but there comes a point where it's just silly.

I got to the part where they give an explanation of why Succubi are so endangered. Was accepting of the super vampire thing and fairy tale but the training from hell portion just left a bad taste.

After that, I gave up before finding out what happened with Tsukune becaming a vampire thingie with black armor.

The Inner/Outer Moka thing also kind of squicked me out. In my mind, it means that Tsukune actually liked Moka's mom for most of the series.

What was the deal with the Succubi?

A succubus dies if their "destined one" or something rejects them.

In Kurumu's case, it is made pretty explicit that she is willing to die for Tsukune in his quest to save Moka. I think Yukari was the one that brought it up during Tsukune's training with the perverted gramps of the Ranma clone.
