I wish. The university is extremely strict with their file sharing policy. I won't touch anything here except a direct download or an anime torrent that I know my ass won't be fried for.

So instead, I just download everything at home, save to dropbox.

And then download from dropbox at school.

And this download is almost 5 times better than I was a couple years ago, yet it still sucks compared to the rest of the country.

Man Qwest sucks, but Comcast sucks harder here.

My ping is crap, but otherwise? Yeah, I'm quite happy with this monster.


I tested my connection across the atlantic, and my ping was actually faster. Then I tested for a server in Brisbane, Australia, and my ping was still faster. And if the numbers aren't quite reaching you: Brisbane is 9400 miles* further away. Yeah.

*15040 km, for those of you who speak metric.

It's comcast. It probably IS slow as hell sometimes. That's due to the tech that cable companies use for broadband. Everybody shares the neighborhood pipline. If a lot of the neighbor kiddies are pirating all at the same time, you suffer as well.

Try your test when it seems slow and see if that number changes.
