Think about it this way. Your mind feeds you info. It also interprets it /for/ you, like a translator program. And occasionally it fraks up, like when you try to betaread your own work and miss a typo or two. Because you knew what you meant, your mind doesn't show you the mistake unless you override this by looking really closely, and being careful. It's the same reason stuff like the Bloody Mary ritual works: if given enough wiggle room, your mind can interpret sensory information into the most terrifying thing you can imagine.

Hey, I've got an idea: since we're both skeptics, let's see what they think would summon up these "phenomena" and then test it out ourselves. I'll take the black figure; you take the wisps.
Nothing on the news. Only thing of vague interest: some dude stripped naked and danced around the center of town, yelling something about wraiths.
In the spirit of Halibel's proposition, I figured that most people keep talking about seeing these wisps out at night, in the streets. So I went to take a walk tonight. What's the worst that could have happened, after all? At best, I'd get some extra exercise, at worst I'd end up in a bad part of town and wake up tied to a bed tomorrow, with hookers demanding money from me at knifepoint. Nothing too strange for this town.
Ended up being the former. I walked around the park, enjoyed the fresh (if thoroughly contaminated) city air, bought a soda. Nothing much.
I'll admit to one thing. Heading back, I did happen upon a guy walking down the streets muttering something about angels and some blinking lights under a bridge. By the look of him (and the bottle of cheap rum he was carrying around), though, he was extremely drunk.

See there, nothing to be afraid of. I have to say I'm experiencing the same thing, Ray, nearly nothing and one minor disturbance. I've watched every bit of anime I own, even sat down to an NCIS marathon for the sake of it. Nothing. And no strange rhythms making themselves known in anything.

Today, the black figure appeared in my window reflection. You know how at night when you face a glass door that leads outside and you're in a lit room and you see a black reflection of yourself in the glass?
I was walking around my room trying to think of what to draw when I glanced at the glass door. The black figure showed up in the glass reflection. It popped its head over my shoulder in the reflection and when I turned there was no one there. When I went back to the reflection, the black figure was gone. Today, the black figure appeared in my window reflection. You know how at night when you face a glass door that leads outside and you're in a lit room and you see a black reflection of yourself in the glass?
I was walking around my room trying to think of what to draw when I glanced at the glass door. The black figure showed up in the glass reflection. It popped its head over my shoulder in the reflection and when I turned there was no one there. When I went back to the reflection, the black figure was gone. Strangely enough I feel that the figure isn't hostile or anything. I don't know what's up with it but I'm gonna find out.

Also, blue balls what again? Because even assuming you're vaguely serious and not trolling (bwahahahaha), you should possibly offer additional explanation to bolster your credibility.
Or at least find another way to call them. I read "blue balls" and my mind skips to the logical conclusion as opposed to thinking "energy wisps".
