This thread is for any story you feel like preening or griping over. They can be a warning to others about certain players now that we have the Dungeon Finder, or a moment of pride for some moments of truly great moments.
Got a story for this thread. Note that I work late, so I tend to play between midnight and 6 AM.
-------------------
First story is on Alliance and happened this morning before the typical Tuesday mass server-reset, and the focus is a Fail!Hunter one of my friends and I ran into last night by the name of Lucaro. His armory page. (What irritates me, looking at this, is the fact that his level was 25 when he was with us, and his gear was WORSE than it is on his Armory Page, despite the fact that his armory page is at level 24, which cements my theory that he's a moron and a ninja looter)
A friend of mine and I were playing a low level tank and healer combo. He was running a Gnome Warrior, I was running Dwarven Priestess. We also had a Dranei Mage and a Dranei Warrior when we first arrived in Razorfen Kraul.
When Lucaro, a Dwarven Hunter, first arrived, he immediately left using the Teleport Out of Dungeon function. Didn't say a word, nothing. According to the menu, he went back to Stormwind.
Since we had the Dungeon Finder debuff (we were doing random for loot), we couldn't boot him, so we decided to run until either he showed up or we could boot him for another DPS.
TWELVE MINUTES passed before Lucaro FINALLY made it back to Razorfen, and we were almost to the fourway split (the one where you can go left or right for a boss, or forward to continue) before he showed.
Then I notice he's not really talking. And the few times he does, it's only in general speak, i.e. white. He's not talking in party speak and when he does say anything it's very little, like "i" "lol" "can't", etc.
I've been making it a habit to check on my allies to see how well they're geared and specced. The Dranei mage was frost specced and the Dranei Warrior was Fury specced, and both were well geared for their level.
Lucaro was level 25 and had yet to set a single point into ANY talent. Then I glance at his gear. At the time, he was only wearing two greens (hands and leggings), two blues (his cape and belt), but mostly whites. He's dual-wielding a sword and a dagger, both whites, and his gun was a grey.
At this point, I'm rubbing my forehead in frustration. He's either a complete newbie or a moron (I also entertained the idea that he might be playing Hardcore, but considering how stupid that would be, I immediately drop it as a possibility), and I'm struggling to figure out which, so I try dropping a few hints about how to open the Talent Menu and ask him how well fed his wolf pet is. He never responds to that.
First thing he did was run UP TO AN ENEMY and attack. I felt bad for his Wolf Pet hordekiller (all in lowercase), because you KNOW that poor thing is probably starving, or getting killed often.
When my friend informs him that hunters are RANGED characters, he started using his gun more and letting his wolf charge, so I start leaning towards the complete newbie theory. We do surprisingly well getting to the first boss we've chosen to take on and kick his ass. A blue shoulder pad comes up with Int/Spirit boosts.
I already had it (my friend and I were running Razorfen for the second time that day), so I consider greeding it if the Mage doesn't need. The Mage needs, so I pass. It's my policy to pass on something I don't need when someone else needs it (I Greed if no one Needs it).
Then I notice the Hunter's Needed it.
Don't ask me HOW he managed to Need on it, but my theory is because he had grey shoulder pads, he was allowed to Need it, even though it's clearly caster gear. At this point, I figure he might be a ninja looter, but if he is, he's been too obvious.
We continue on and kill the next boss who drops a Blue knife that's got Agility and Strength. Good for any DPS, especially our dork of a hunter, so I pass on it. HE PASSES ON IT, and our mage who'd greeded it, gets it.
At this point, the server patch is due, so it starts telling us that our server is going down for maintenance soon. We decide to take on another boss before we go, and do so quite well. Two Polearms, both blues, drop from the two minions, and the boss drops a green piece of tanking mail armor (+stamina and strength). Hunter passes on the two polearms and NEEDS THE ARMOR.
At this point, I'm convinced Lucaro is an idiot _and_ a ninja looter. We probably would've booted him but the 15 minute counter had already started for our server reset, so we decide to call it a night instead.
I'd gladly work with that Dranei Mage or Warrior again, but I'm adding Lucaro to my ignore list so we never see him again.
