I consider neo TFF's birthday to be March 24th, and so it is.
In celebration of nTFF's 2nd anniversary, I'd like to announce a new fic contest: the Waifu Fic Contest.
As the name implies, fanfics should be all about couples or threesomes or harems, but from there the plot is all your own discretion. It could be about growing relationship pains between a couple with a bittersweet open-ended conclusion, a brief oneshot interaction between a male and female, the competition of two or more guys for a female's attention, or a couple tie the knot and then go on a honeymoon stopping a zombie apocalypse.
I'll give something out to the winner of their choosing as long as it's related to the Waifu theme, such as a game ie. Rune Factory game, Fire Emblem Awakening, or anime set, etc. as long as it stays ~$50ish.
Rules
Submission Deadline is April 7th, Midnight PST. Late entries will be docked 5 points per day up to three days.
Moderate lime content will be allowed, outright sexual content is not (though I may be persuaded to do a second contest for those kinds of fics).
Judging
The Judges so far are:
I could use up to another one (two if violinmana doesn't judge).
Scoring
I'll use a scoring structure close to but a little bit different from the one the Iron Fics have used.
Theme (15): How Well your fanfic fits into the 'waifu' theme
Language (15): Overall spelling and grammar strength of your story
Writing Style (20): This relates to the overall strength of writing style. Well-written fics with good use of literary devices that don't induce groaning at corniness will get top marks.
Plot/Content (30): The overall 'idea' behind your stories, and the meat-and-potatoes of the actual events occurring in your fanfic.
Discretion (15): The judge's own personal opinion on the fic as a combination of everything fitting together or not.
Obscurity (5): This is awarded depending on how many fics already exist in whatever fandom you're writing, using the number of fics on Fanfiction.net as the benchmark. If you write for a tiny fandom with only a handful of fics (or if it doesn't even exist as a distinct category), you can get top marks.
300 Fics or less: 5 points
300-1000: 4 points
1000-5000: 3 points
5000-10000: 2 points
10000-30000: 1 point
