Highest leveled character is lvl 36, nearly 37. Omin. Sith Assassin. Pretty potent, but not too durable unless I'm using dark charge.

Just reached the Fleet on my Smuggler, and I'm agonizing over which specialization to choose...pure ranged DPS as Gunslinger, or sneaky-healy-shotgunnery as a Scoundrel...gah.
Scoundrel is for healing or stealthy backstabbing. Despite appearances, it's really a melee class and generally doesn't make heavy use of Cover. It has some ranged attacks, but really... if RDPS is your thing, go for Gunslinger. If you're put off by the Cover system and cast time nukes of Sharshooter, I hear DF Gunslingers aren't so reliant on it. As an added bonus, you will never ever be nagged to heal.

On the other hand, if you like the idea of a healing class with infinite energy (lv30+ with Emergency Medpac) that can stealth and fight in melee, or a rogueish MDPS with enough burst from stealth to make people on forums cry nerf about it (lv40+ with Flechette Round), that's what the Scoundrel is about.

Hmm, anyone playing bounty hunter? I'm trying to avoid a romance with torian but for some damn reason, he just proposed to me even though i hardly flirt with him and he's supposedly "invovled" with mako... Is it just me or did they fuck up the companion relations.... I just upped my affection for torian so he does faster crafting, can anyone confirm that the romance is just triggered by affection rating or did i flirt with him one too many times? (i just flirt to up affection rating)

So apparently crafting missions that you find or otherwise aquire in item-form are a one-shot deal. I found this out after spending 15K at the GTN for one. Hopefully others will learn from my mistake.

I knew about that. It's unfortunate that my guild is comprised of mainly Sith and so mostly artificers, because I've found armstech discoveries.

So, I'm starting chapter two on my Imperial Sniper. Right when chapter one closed I thought it was a good place to stop, maybe start an alt Bounty Hunter, see if the class can be a good off-tank.

I decided to just get to the next new planet. Hit a particular story point before that.

I am not leveling an alt, or even considering starting one, until this plot arc is done. It's just that interesting. It evens makes a call-back to some of the stuff I did earlier in the story, in particular to a section which I know was foreshadowing but had written off because I had finished that particular plot arc in a rather permanent manner. As in the no survivors kind.

I've just recently begun to work on lvling my Juggernaut, through use of PvP and some quests. Really enjoying the durability, the dps. And I feel as though I contribute in warzones. Even if it's more about delaying the enemy or killing them if possible. Huttball is still my least favorite PvP type.

Huttball is amusing when you have a team that actually tries to get the ball over the goal line. BH tanking is actually surprisingly versatile due to being able to slightly kite the boss if you really need to. Only problem i ve ever had on BH is the lack of OH SHIT cooldowns except for 1 (25% less dmg skill). I dont have much problems tanking BT heroic and even false emp wasnt that bad except for a certain robot. Haven't tried the other HMs but i've heard horror stories with buggy mechanics.

Hm... with an ability to leap to enemy, leap to friendly, knock enemies into fire/acid, Guard ball carrier, taunt enemies attacking carrier and just generally being fairly durable, Juggernauts are extremely potent in Huttball...

I'm not questioning the potency. Gotten some pretty good kills in Huttball. My problem is mostly tanking it, actually, probably because whenever I get the ball I seem to attract a group of five immediately. I have trouble bringing it to the goal line. But I'm lvl 12, so maybe so of the latter abilities will help. I've seen a guildie use force push to do some pretty amusing things.

Dammit EA/Lucasart/Bioware/Whoever the hell I should complain to, fix your damn servers like right now.

I was going to level my Sorcerer to lvl40 and equip that nifty dark promise set.
But nooooo, my latency suddenly is OVER 9000, and no, that is no joke.

Where did my four beatiful blue bars go? Where did my 40-80 latency go? *Sob*

Anyway, there is a ensuing shitstorm at the TOR customer service forums right now.
To put it mildly, it's not pretty.

Yesh, bloody FrankenPC, keep getting (0xc0150002) errors on swtor.exe when I try and log on, tried everything I can find to fix it, reinstalled various things, installed qt7 which worked once before, so far nothings helping, so I guess I'll just have to wait the 3 odd weeks until I've finished paying off me new gaming pc /grumble ah well, kinda anoying as I had just hit Corellia(sp) in the SW storyline /shrug such is life though I guess, still its an awesome MMO, and its doing a damn sight better then others I've played just after launch

I fucking love the Commando, seriously! An awesome storyline, and an incredibly versatile character, tank, dps and healer?

Seriously Commando's are awesome in pvp especially Void Star, wait for a couple Sith to charge you on the bridge, then use concussion charge to knock them into a pit.

Seriously, a commando to each bridge, some sage's to keep healing and buffing them and the rest to act as support makes an unbeatable team.

Specially Smugglers, Mass Smuggle is an awesome skill. Just imagining the look of surprise on the enemy when your entire team blips off the radar and reappears somewhere else.

Join the Darkside, we have pie...and the better storylines :)

J/k (mostly)

If you go force, invest in the artifice skill as it helps with making your own sabers. However, do keep in mind that making your own medkits is always a viable alternative.

Flashpoints can be used to gain XP and help buff your light/dark meter. Also your companions aren't light/dark they're more complex than that, however by reading their profiles you'll get a general idea of what appeals to them and why.

Strictly speaking you don't have to be a complete monster or save every single babay. In fact the most interesting storylines generally allow you to be a mix of both (Imperial Agent almost demands this for the most satisfying storyline).

I see, well I'll install it later and see what server to join. Dunno if I should go Sith or Hunter or something else, I definitively won't pick jedi, too much of a Paladin Nun order

You don't have to be a paladin of truth and justice. In fact I think the Jedi is third in-line when it comes to possible one nightstands.

Now if yo're playing for story I will say the following, as I can' speak to PVP.

Hunter: You're voiced by Steven Blum and are outto gain fame and fortune in the ultimate hunt (at least during chapter 1)

Sith Warrior: You're the closest thing to Darth Vader this side of prequels. You are the enforcer, the black clad marauder ensuring obediance and leading the charge when it comes to slaying the empires enemies.

That said, you can be a reasonable authority figure and even somewhat heroic in our actions. I tend towards lightsided play and have found it (in some respects) more enjoyable than that of the Jedi Knights. Yes I slay the Empires enemies, but I also protect it's people and act as a break on some of it's excess.

Sure, put down a slave rebellion, but don't prolonge their suffering for your own sick pleasure. It's a waste of time and resources if nothing else.

Halt the Republics attempts to retake a planet from us and crush the insurrection. But spare the commanders life in return for him admitting the treaty violations the Republic has committed and encouraging the rest of the world to lay down their arms.

Force choke the lover of a woman who holds information you need, but once she's told you what you want, let her lover live. I honor my deals.

Give me what I want, and no one needs to suffer.

Sith Inquisitor: You are the arch manipulator. You search for long lost power, dangerous secrets and the knowledge to weild them. The warrior leads the battle, but it's the Inquisitor that kills the enemy before the saber is even drawn.

Imperial Agent: A strange fusion of James Bond and Grand Moff Tarkin that is a lot of fun to play.

FUCK YOU, you magnificent BASTARDS!

Now IÆve got to go get a second job to afford this fucking habità.

Nearly every single other person I know is very, very underwhelmed by 1.2. It's like, whoo, I get to unlock new shit...by grinding another character. How fun.

Playing through the questline is the reason I've played TOR longer than other MMOs. So getting a nice reward for that works for me.

I'm really enjoying it so far. Looking forward to the Legacy stuff, especially since they are saying that you'll be able to mail stuff to alts cross-faction. So my next play-through as Republic will be supported by my Imperial group's better crafting skills. I'm not a big guild type, so I use my alts instead.

Just started a few days ago and I've already got my starship.

My current issues with the game are... well, I'm not sure if it's the game or my computer.

Sometimes, I'll load into an area easily. Other times, it feels like it takes 3-5 minutes. And sometimes, I'll crash loading into the game.

I know lag issues are entirely my connection's fault, but crashes? Really?

I've also yet to properly close the game. It crashes every time I do.
:(

Other than that, and the occasional issue of running into enemies that are out of my league, I've been having fun with the game.

A few classes looked interesting to me, but I'm not certain I'd play anyway.
