If these are supposed to be a sequel to B&W, I want a final battle with Black that reaches the epicness of fighting Red on top of Mt. Silver

I wonder if they'll sneak in the combined form of Reshiram and Zekrom, i mean hell in-game lore specifically states that they where once one being.

Black/White players can get Reshiram/Zekrom respectively from Wifi for about the next month now (until April 8th I think).

Maybe we should start posting artwork instead. I think I've already gone through my Pokemon Special quota and my Gold vs. Red quota so...

Too bad Flareon is so useless in games

Maybe if you play competitively. Otherwise, Flareon is just fine.

Does anyone here use emulators and know how to connect two emulators up to trade? Cos I totally want a Gengar and it's been bugging me. <_<

@GMM, which game specifically? Ruby and Sapphire?

Nah, playing LeafGreen using the VisualBoyAdvance emulator. It should be simple to get it to work but I've never yet managed.

Even then all it needs is Flame Charge and Firefang. Flame charge will boost it's speed 1 time per use and Fire Fang will just wreck everything with it's power. If any of the Eeveelutions is useless it's Vaporeon. It has low defense and crap speed.

Synopsis on Eeveelutions:
Vaproeon; Pretty useless, it's slow and doesn't hit as hard as the others. Best to have it learn status boost moves and Baton Pass.

Jolteon: Able to outspeed almost anything and has a good SpA. Unfortunately it will die from a feathertap. Best save for when you really need to outspeed something or you know that it's gonna die in one hit.

Flareon: An Ok pokemon, It's got epic Atk and good SpA/SpD, but lacks in speed and not suited to take hits. Was cheated by the Physical/Special Split when they didn't update it's moveset to take advantage of it's strength. As said above, it's best to find a way to boost it's speed and have it use Phys. Fire moves.

Espeon: An excellent Blitzing pokemon with epic SpA and high Speed. Strategy should be obvious, boost it's SpA and let it obliterate everything. Would be a good idea to have a "Look At Me" meatsheild just in case.

Umbreon: One of the greatest Tank pokemon I've ever owned. You can have it learn Baton pass as an Eevee and use it to boost your other pokemon, Give it Toxic and Left Overs to whaste the other teams away, or give it Mean Look and and stat lowering moves to drag down a tough opponent. I personally have one that Knows Toxic, Double Team, Moonlight, and Baton Pass.

Glaceon&Leafeon: Have yet to use them though Leafeon would likely be like a faster Flareon.

It appalled me when I realized, looking at this fic, that we're this deep into the Generations, and have yet to find any sort of Lost World area where you can catch extinct Pokemon.

I would squee if there was some kind of island or lost continent that was all volcanos, mountains, jungles, deserts, and inland seas that time forgot, where Legendaries nested and flights of Aerodactyles soared through the skies.

We need that. We need that so bad. Hell, if that's too conflicting with the lore, freaking time travel technology exists in the Pokemon universe, so there's no reason Bill couldn't invent a time machine that sends people through time in addition to Pokemon. It would be bitching to play a Pokemon Generation where the gimmick was time travel. It could be like Oracle of Ages, where certain puzzles in the present can only be solved in the past, and vice versa (i.e. find a key that was sealed in a room in the past because in the present the sealed room was broken into, bring the key back to the past and use it to open the door that was buried in the present). There would be two entirely different versions of the region you're exploring, too. The one in the present, and the one in the past. The past one is filled with exotic and extinct Pokemon, whereas the present one only has Pokemon that have been introduced thus far (i.e. all of the 'new' Pokemon are ones in the past).

You could be given a Pokedex because the resident Professor is giddy over the idea of acquiring data and specimens on extinct Pokemon, and possibly reintroducing them into the modern ecosystem. The notable Legendaries would be extinct ones that no longer exist anymore, plus Celebi, who is catchable and/or centric to the plot of the villains, who are trying to harness time control for their own purposes.

If you can't find a use for Vaporeon's base-130 HP and base-110 Special Attack, then you're doing it wrong, especially considering its default ability is Water Absorb and its Dream World ability is Hydration. Bulky Water-type, bitch.

Rain Dance
Surf
Ice Beam or Grass Knot (pretty sure it learns both)
Rest

In OU if you have Drizzle Politoed, you can swap Rain Dance out for a third attack. Vaporeon has lots of uses, you just have to do a little research. This may not even ne the best way of using it.

Frankly, if any Eeveelution is useless it's Flareon. It has base-130 Attack but no physical STAB move stronger than Fire Fang, which has 55 power. It doesn't get Flame Wheel (60), Fire Punch (75), Blaze Kick (85), Sacred Fire (100, Ho-Oh signature move), Flare Blitz (120 with recoil), or V-create (180 but Def/SpD/Speed all drop). It gets Guts as a Dream World ability but as a Fire-type it can't be burned, which means if you want to self-activate Guts you have to use Toxic Orb, and poison is more dangerous than burns, probably. Also, Flareon is frail like basically all Fire-types, and slow without Flame Charge, which is weak (50 power iirc). Using two of four slots for physical STAB is a bad move. Flareon is a low-grade Fire-type; there are some worse, but many better ones.

Well I guess I have a bit of a bias opinion on Vaporeon, To be honest, after my nuzlock run of SS I absolutely hate it. It kept surviving by the skin of it's teeth, trainer spammed potions and Surf. Plus it just looks kind of ugly. I swore I wold never use it and so i forgot the stats. I knew it had 13o health but I thought the SpA was 90...

And I'll concede to you that Flareon isn't the greatest fire pokemon or Eeveeution. In fact like i said, Leafeon does it better not to mention it gets shown up by both fire monkeys.

Oh, don't worry. It's not that I'm particularly fond of Vaporeon, I just don't think it can be remotely called "useless". It's not even that hard to find a use for it, we're not talking about esoteric shit here.

Although, yeah, I agree it's kind of ugly. I'd say it and Jolteon are the worst-looking Eeveelutions.

The ugliest one I can think of is the Derpfish, Stunfisk. I mean dear god, this pokemon looks like Arceus just straight up went to town on it with a baseball bat. It like the Downs syndrom suffering result of a drunken mistake between a dunsparce and a magikarp.

The adorable one to me is Togetic
, though again this is likely bias from Nuzlocke. I'll always remember you Ralph!

Did an all Eevee evolution run(again) in Platinum not long ago. Was rather fun.

Now trying to find a NidoranF in FireRed.

1% to find in on route 3. I've been at this for an hour and a half, now.

Pidgey...Spearow...Spearow...Jigglypuff...NidoranM...Pidgey...Pidgey...Mankey...

I remember trying to capture the Three Birds in FireRed.

Even with them at a smidgen of health left and paralyzed, Ultra Balls still had less than 3% chance of working.

Blargh. Spent two fucking hours in FireRed looking for a female Nidoran (1% encounter rate).

Eventually said fuck it and used a code to guarantee the next encounter was one. Honestly, in a game touted as 'Gotta catch em all', you'd think they'd make it a bit easier than a 1/100 chance or so.

Now, to move on to Mt. Moon.

My Nidoran was shiny. I thought it was male until it evolved.
