The latest installment of the Batman series will start filming in the territory this month, but already the movie has hit several snags. A scene in which Batman was to drop from a plane into the harbor has been axed after the movie's producers found the water quality could pose a potential health risk, the South China Morning post reported in its Sunday edition.
"The plan was for Batman to be seen jumping into the water and then climbing up some bamboo, or something similar," the Post quoted an unnamed production official as saying.
"But when they checked a water sample, they found all sorts of things; salmonella and tuberculosis, so it was canceled. Now the action will cut to inside a building."
The movie -- a sequel to the 2005 hit "Batman Begins" -- stars Christian Bale as the eponymous Batman, Heath Ledger as the Joker and Michael Caine as Batman's long-suffering butler, Alfred.
Christopher Nolan returns to direct the film. Hong Kong's harbor has long been polluted by industrial and residential sewage, and swimming is not recommended, WWF's conservation director Andy Cornish told the Post.
Health worries due to pollution has increasingly become a concern in Hong Kong. According to the think tank Civic Exchange, more than 225,000 vessels arrive annually in Hong Kong's port, one of the world's busiest.

It is believed the mother thought she had booked a gorillagram to rush into her 16-year-old sonÆs classroom for a birthday surprise - but a stripper turned up instead.
The Daily Mail said the teenager's mother had told the teacher beforehand that a ôbirthday surpriseö would walk in during the class and requested that it be filmed.
Instead of a gorilla, an adult performer showed up at Arnold High School in Nottingham dressed as a policewoman and spanked the boy 16 times in front of his classmates, the newspaper said.
She stripped to her underwear while dancing to a Britney Spears song and asked the teenager to rub cream all over her body before the ôstunnedö teacher called an end to the act.
One student told the newspaper that the performance occurred in the middle of a drama class.
ôThe teacher suddenly announced: æSomething is about to happenÆ,ö the student said.
ôThen a woman in a very short skirt walked in dressed as a copper. She asked the lad to stand up, which he did, and told him he had been a very naughty boy because he hadnÆt been doing his homework.ö
The performer put on some music and had the teenager put a collar on her.
ôNo one could believe it,ö the student said.
ôNext she ordered him to get on all fours, led him around the classroom and hit him 16 times -one for each year - on the bottom with her whip.ö
The newspaper quoted the student as saying that it was wehen the stripper pulled some cream out of her bag that the teacher took action.
ôTo be fair to the teacher, you could tell she was just stunned, and when the cream came out she told the stripper: æThatÆs it. ThatÆs enoughÆ.ö
The student said the birthday boy ran out of the classroom while the stripper packed her bag.

I am amazed that the stripper actually carried on with her job. Is there some sort of code of professional conduct where you are obligated to see your assignment through to the end, however weird it may be? I thought the fact that she was in a classroom would suffice to send her alarm bells ringing and let common sense take over, but no.... :lol:

I'm a cynic, so this appealed since as near as I can tell, he should be lucky to survive after a stunt like that. I listened to this for at least 45 minutes straight.
