Defcon 15 Undercover Reporter Flees - Theres a video of "Spot the Undercover Reporter"

Eliot Phillips said:
I'm guessing this was pretty widely reported, but an NBC undercover reporter fled after being outed in the opening session. NBC Dateline associate producer Michelle Madigan refused press credentials on four separate occasions, choosing instead to pose as a normal attendee in order to covertly film other attendees. Defcon has a long running tradition of playing"spot the fed", where attendees out people they think are federal agents. The feds play along and it's all good fun. This was entirely different though: the game "spot the undercover reporter" was announced and she fled immediately, only to be filmed "To catch a predator" style.

I may just be a blogger, but I'm wearing my press pass proudly.

And they still plan on making a fifth Duke Nukem. I don't know if I should laugh or cry at that.

Only Duke Nukem I'd like to see ontinued is 'Ranma Saotome The Atomic Kid' by Carrotglace.

The likelyhood of that is not overly high though. A shame, as I loved Kasumi and several others in that.

Oh! I've been looking everywhere for that list. It's great, and it actually does make you wonder just how much has happened while Duke Nukem Forever has been in development.

I can pull a few very good ones from that list, but a 'few' just doesn't cut it.

And, I've just found this:

Anti-Rape Clothing

Hmmm... gives pause.

Was there or was there not a Youma in Sailor Moon that was a Vending Machine. Even if not, I know it was used in fan fiction before. Such as in the Ranma crossover story called Chaos Factor.

I guess the moral is: Don't be an alive thing unless you want devil hunters and so called defenders of love and justice out for your blood due to a simple mistake in identity.

Oooooooooh-kay... One would hope that a society that encourages the safe release of one's fetishes wouldn't have as big of a problem as say, the US, who is repressed, but I guess I was wrong.

I suppose that if the country is bad enough to need female only subway cars, then this might be a problem for them as well.

That certainly wouldn't work here in the US where we have a general distaste for vending machines. Some would argue that if we're going to get screwed over for some soda here, we might as well get it face to face.

Title: Men also avid players of casual video games: study?
Market report finds that men are just as likely as women to play casual video games, but they're less likely to admit it.?
They had a *study* on this.

One of my favorite comments, which I think kind of sexist, is:

"Everyone always thought that casual games were something that only appeal to women," Jessica Tams, managing director of the association, said in an interview. "We have always been obsessed about making games for women."
That is like stating, 'Men do not read romance novels'...

That's in direct opposition to my personal experience. Just about every woman I've met always says, "What the hell do you guys see in those games anyways?"

One went on to say, "What? not enough violence in real life for you?"

That to me has always said that women aren't the target audience for most games.

So if men are more reluctant to admit to playing video games as the study states, it must be because some woman chastised them for it.

Edit: Don't get me wrong... I don't assume all women are that way. It's just the women where I live generally have no problem in sharing their opinion on a subject...

I think they were talking about the smaller puzzle games, not Halo and other more "mainstream" games.

Well... I'm not saying I really agree or disagree, either with you or the study, I did not make it, I just found it odd.

Well... one specifically mentioned was Zuma. That is by PopCap games.

Oddly enough, my brother plays that one.

Here is their Zuma Subpage

The List of Ig Nobel Prize Winners

The Ig nobel prize is for discoveries that... well, fall into the genre of 'O Rly?'.

As an example:
Aviation: Patricia V. Agostino, Santiago A. Plano and Diego A. Golombek, for discovering that hamsters recover from jetlag more quickly when given Viagra.

New technology that can make tanks invisible has been unveiled by the Ministry of defense.

In secret trials last week, the Army said it had made a vehicle completely disappear and predicted that an invisible tank would be ready for service by 2012.

The new technology uses cameras and projectors to beam images of the surrounding landscape onto a tank.

While it was only just officially announced that is actually really old news.

Hmmm... I wonder how it would handle:

noise,
tracks,
rain.

This is sounding somewhat like some of the black technology in Full Metal Panic. They had a system like that, but did not handle rain too good. Installed primarily on helicopters and arm slaves.

It actually isn't that bad in rain considering the first prototype of the technology was a rain coat and it was decently camoflagged. (Read popular science it is awesome )

The problem is that it is all easily defeated with IR goggles or camera. The projections may fools the eyes, but the heat signatures are still there.

I just caught this in the Anime News Network Feed:

Title: Atari Disputes Loss of Dragon Ball Z Game Licenses?
The videogame distributor Atari reported in a United States Security and Exchange Commission filing on October 25 that the anime company Funimation Production delivered a notice to terminate Atari's two Dragon Ball Z software licenses on October 18. Funimation cites alleged breaches of license agreements for the termination, while Atari disputes the allegations. The two company are discussing a "standstill" agreement to arrange further meetings on the issues. Atari announced on October 30 that it completed development on the Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi 3 game for the Nintendo Wii and Sony PlayStation 2 game consoles. Thanks, Daniel Zelter.
