Been a while since I watched VanDread so I wasn't sure, but I just rewatched ep 11 of the second season (about 15min into the episode) BC talks in a male voice.

The choker with the green gem he wears during his time with the females is a voice changer.

Since genetic/hormon therapy would have changed the voice too, it seems that his breasts are just some very advanced implants

You are thinking in terms of 21st century genetic engineering. Vandread is a wee bit more advanced than that. And BC does imply that the breasts are the one major change he got. For all we know, the rest of him is male - in fact, he SHOULDN'T be able to talk in a male voice without an Adam's apple, since it's part of the vocal system. The fact he lacks an Adam's apple and STILL has a male voice is suspicious.

Either it's something the series' makers overlooked, or the Vandreadverse has some serious genetic technology. My money's on the latter - they got advanced enough tech to preserve the entire RACE through cloning/artificial insemination, something that current-day mankind CAN'T do to that extent. Them being able to screw with genes more than we do is entirely believable.

Except we NEVER see BC's neck. He is always wearing either that collar with the voice synthesizer, or the high collar uniform.

An Adam's apple is pronounced enough that the voice synthesizer CAN'T hide it completely on a neck as slim as BC's. They aren't that small. We should at least see SOMETHING, and yet nothing shows.

Why do you think men with scrawny necks look like they have ugly bumps in fromt of their throat?

If BC had more meat on his frame, it'd be understandable (the fat layer would somewhat mask it), but BC isn't quite bulky enough for that to happen.

That's just my opinion, of course, but an Adam's apple isn't this easy to mask.

1) Check out the pic way at the top of the page (5th post). His collar is huge, most likely made of metal, plastic or some other rigid material, and there's a big honking jewel right where the adam's apple is supposed to be.

2) Let us not forget that this is fiction; the creators are allowed to take a few liberties here as to what kind of apparel is able to hide important features, or weather anyone looks close enough to care.

3) Except for extreme close ups and exaggerated movements, it is rare in anime to draw adam's apples on males.

Points taken, although I'm iffy on the first.

Then again, until the creators say so, all we can do is guess. For all we know, BC could've been genetically engineered to be a male with tits and no Adam's apple, in which case said tits are still genuine.

Even if it's a genetic enhancement, in short, what matters is if he was BORN with the code for 'em. Which, on a world where males reproduce by pure DNA manipulation and test tube babies, is something that's not far off from possible. Especially if the bigwigs were aiming all along for someone who could be an effective spy among the women.

Just saying... given how BC's exact past is almost a complete blank, it's not a stretch.

one a more relevant note I just found a manga with a crazy trap...



Aoi-san... a 38 year old man that looks, acts and tends to dress like a young girl... just about every man is constantly hitting on the oblivious and cheerful Aoi even after they find out his true gender (which he assumes everyone can tell). Even his son has moments of weakness to Aoi's cuteness but is ultimately the one protecting his father from all range of perverted men and usually getting driven up the wall by his fathers childish and girlish ways.

The Source manga this storyline takes up the first three chapters the last three being one chapter storylines of other ideas.

Huh, I remember reading that earlier today...it was pretty good. Though, honestly, I didn't really think he looked much like a girl. Though, of course, he didn't look anything like he was thirty-eight, either...looked like an elementary school boy, but a boy nonetheless. Now, his crossdressing friend...that was a trap. One I partially suspected might possibly be a trap, but a trap nonetheless. :sisi:
