Gabby is doing something odd, not even counting me as there when logged in

Not working for me. I can see what I type, but it says 0 gabbers, and I don't show up on the blank list of chatters.

Gabbly has been having problems for the last two days. I know I've had problems even getting into the chat. Even when others are in the chat, Gabbly refuses to have me join in, or see what they are seeing. It's not even one-siding in that, they can't see what I'm writing either. Same problem that Random and U1 had with it.

To anyone using gabbly right now...

It seems Gabbly is in full bug mode... again. If you go there, and it reads '0 gabbers', this does not mean no one is there. In fact, chances are, people are there during the 'popular times'. Just that Gabbly isn't acknowledging as such.

It will tell if 'new' people arrive. But only after you logged in (the new guy will have the same problem and see an empty list).

Question: Is gabbly not letting anyone change their names? I'm trying to set Gabbly up with another site and I'm always getting 'name is registered.' Even for gabber? names.

And I'm the only one on the gabbly help forum right now so I'm not going to get tech support for awhile there.

Aye, gabbly sucks that way. It's showing names again, tho.

Okay, I'm testing both gabbly and xat for another forum. Thanks for the reply Bjorn.

Well if you're name is already registered by someone else, than chances are, you can't use that particular name.

If it is a unique name, and it is saying that, 'then' I'd say write it off as Gabbly bug. Otherwise...

I hate gabbly and it hates me. Seems that now it started hating everyone else.

So I stopped to check up on the irc channel at ircnet figuring with all the troubles people seem to be having, maybe the IRC channel is getting some activity.

Seems the channel was just dumped and discarded due to lack of own life at some earlier point, I guess? Oh well.

First rule of gabbly is that it sucks.

Second rule is that we're all too lazy to use anything else.

Pity. I'm pretty much exclusively an IRC guy right now. All I keep seeing about gabbly just doesn't make me want to even bother dealing with it.

I prefer IRC too, but nobody seems to use it. :p

I didn't even know TFF had an IRC channel. I asked about it and got a negative reply. :p

Hawk set one up in May (you can scroll up and see the info for it), but there were never more than 6 people at a time, of which maybe two did any talking.

Dunno if it was just that gabbly was working very well at that time or if it was just that the server was too hard to get into (a lot of the recommended servers in the main website just don't -work-. I had to do some googling to be able to log onto it). But in the end, very few seemed to bother with it.

I may have said one or two things, but mostly I just idled there due to lack of interest in what was chatted. Eventually I just left. It seems everyone did the same, and the room just died.

Was thinking it was just me until I looked at the thread.

I'm an IRC guy also so I'll idle in the channel every now and then when I'm using mIRC.

Yes, but as pointed out, it's rather dead currently.
Yeah, it surprising seeing that there was normally someone in Gabby. IRC is cool but perhaps just the ease of clicking a link is still > having to open a program and use a few commands.

Like I said, I'm still around from time to time just because I leave mIRC open.

Yeah, I also use IRC quite frequently. And it's no trouble to open a second server window besides quakenet, so I'll be around there too.

I couldn't get into Gabbly at all last night; when I entered I didn't appear on the list or in the count.

Gabbly sucks! Lots!

On another note, today is one of the rare days I'll be on MSN.

I'm starting to get on it more often...and by more often, I mean Gabbly Sucks.

Amen to that.

I'm almost always around on MSN compared to the horror called Gabbly.

In other news, Gabbly once again sucks after a brief period of normalcy.

Maybe I'm just tech illiterate, and I have teh stupid, but I can't get Trillian to log onto the goddamn IRC.

Doesn't it know who I am?! I'm the goddamn Apocalypse.

It should let me chat but it isn't, just keeps giving me these stupid error messages about it can't connect.

Technology: If it weren't so marvelous, I'd shoot it. I may still, come to think of it.
