I've said before that High School of the Dead just has so many OC fics that there is almost nothing good in it (and the one good one I've found stopped updating a long time ago -before it even got to the lemon-). But this... this is just filth. This is awful.

Spork sounds funnier. And actually looking at Percy Jackson fanfics, it looks like most of them just plain suck. I get that this is usually true for fanfics and I'll admit that I actually don't really like the series, but I'm wondering if fanfics for young adult series are just more likely to be bad. Maybe because young adult series tend to (for obvious reasons) be read mostly by young teenagers and so the people writing the fanfics are mostly inexperienced in the world of writing, and more blatant in wish fulfillment?

Yeah. From the moment you read the summary you already know that this is just bad. Bad, bad, bad. And just to see if it had any connection to the movie I actually skimmed it over. Far as I can tell, it doesn't. It is just horribly written line after line. In script format.

Here, let me give you a sample of it:

The season is summer, and the place is New York City. It was such a beautiful morning. The people crowd and the city is loud, and everybody is in a hurry to get to their workplaces on time so that they're not being late. The cars, cabs, busses, trains, and subways are doing okay as well. And around New York City, there's a police station called "The New York Police Department where all the policemen, and policewomen do their business to make sure there is no crime in the city. One of the women in that business lived a very beautiful, pretty, attractive, sexy, strong, and hot looking as well, and she's in her twenties with olive skin, high cheekbones, long beautiful hair, and a beautiful voice. She is Irish, Filipino, and Mexican. Her name is Eliza Alvarez, and she's a secret agent detective in New York City. She's in her office right now doing a bunch of paperwork. Plus, she happens to work alone, and she likes it this way. After she was done with her paperwork, she decided to rest a bit, that is until she had a speaker call from the commissioner on her speaker. So she answered it right away.

I've seen stuff like that... but far more common are the ones that refuse to update until 'X' number of reviews is reached...

Those tend to give the impression they are writing for the wrong reasons.

All that was just from the first god damn page. It wasn't even everything on the page, just what I put here before I got tired of it. And this is what I got even with the tags set to filter out Suzaku (because of the rampant slash fics) and OCs (for obvious reasons). What we have are OC Gary Stu's (even with the settings supposed to filter out the OC characters), time travel fics because that totally wouldn't be broken, brain dead piece of junk stories that seem to think if you change every single thing it's somehow still a story fans want to read and stories where nothing would change but the writer is so certain that everything would change because the writer wants it to.

Code Geass is dead. It is dead and Lulu's Bizarre Rebellion is its last gasp of talent before the end comes.
