Honestly I kinda chortled at the thought of me wearing a Nazi uniform. Even though the Nazi's had some good fashion taste for uniforms . . .
In all truth, the moderation team has had several conversations about Mike1984 and his behavior before. I was the swing vote on pretty much all the occasions. Altima would vote in Mike's favor while DP obviously didn't and Roadbuster wasn't too keen either. So it was up to me to decide.
And I've given a lot of slack in the past.
We've given multiple warnings, I've tried to be understanding, but there's so much slack we can cut.
I see it like being an Alpha Bitch in a wolf pack. The Alpha Female has far more work to do than the Alpha male. He just runs the hunt and keeps the beta male in check. That's it.
The Alpha Female keeps all the other wolves in the pack in check, keeps other members of the pack from breeding, is responsible for her cubs, and in the case that another bitch does breed she will go in and slaughter the other litter of cubs. Being an Alpha Female is not an easy thing to do.
It wasn't an easy decision. Not at all. (And honestly I thought it was going to be for a 1 Day Ban and not a 3 Day). However if we let one person get away with some of the stuff that Mike has then there will be others who would try to take advantage or worse. It was one I didn't want to make, but I had to be objective and put my personal feelings aside.
There's the long and the short of it.

And, honestly, can't you take circumstances into account? I accept that I fucked up, but so did everyone else, and your new rules didn't even exist at the time. You only introduced them afterwards, and then applied them retroactively.
The situation you've now put me in is horrible, and I really do not appreciate being a sacrifice so you can keep "order". People cannot "take advantage" if you are actually thinking about things and acting according to the circumstances and not just according to the letter of the rules.

I know you did not do it out of any kind of malice or personal dislike, but I am still extremely upset at what you did, and that you knew it was wrong, and still did it anyway.
Rules do not have to be followed, ever, and there are always exceptions. I know I really did fuck up, and I am sorry for that, but what you did has achieved nothing but to make me angry, jaded and totally distrusting of the moderation system. Further, I now do not feel comfortable expressing my opinion because I'm worried that I'll get banned.

Yeah, this is exactly what all the other people in the thread I got banned in were banned/warned for doing. Of course, this isn't BL, so the mods aren't going to deal with it but, conversely, there's also nothing stopping me flaming them back.
Honestly, if I could, I'd much rather discuss this with Elf privately, without all these morons chiming in and making me angrier, but I have no other way to talk to her....

In other news, people are continuing to comment on your tantrum. It may interest you to learn that several people have stated that they think banning you was too harsh.

Yeah, I am capable of deleting cookies, so I have read it (and, before you say anything, Altima told me to do that, so I think it somewhat unlikely that DP could get away with punishing me for it, however much he might want to...).
Honestly, that doesn't shock me. If even one of the admins doesn't agree with the punishment, it's not surprising that not all of the members will. My opinion is, of course, pretty clear....

Honestly, what led to the ban was largely a one-off caused by a huge misunderstanding between me and Altima, although the general "getting angry" thing is definitely a problem which I need to work on. Not having people constantly goading me will help that somewhat, though....
And, the exercise is pointless. I already know the issue, and banning me has, if anything, made things worse, not better. But, Elf has made it entirely clear that she wasn't thinking about me or the particular situation I was in at all when she decided on this ban, but only about the image that they project as moderators.

I was thinking the less reasonable Republicans in the US, or those churches in fantasy stories that are all about exterminating the evil monsters and refuse to accept being wrong, that many of those monsters are just trying to live, not exterminate humanity. Which makes the mods of BL the heroes who realize the truth and are trying to save the world with the power of love and peace. And it's even more ironic, because those churches are all about the Lawful Good, which Mike hates. I have to admit, I am loving this.
