Those eaters are nasty in the extreme though. It seems that by taking the south, Easley left enough remains to give the Organization the means to kill him. The Abyssals are quickly moving down from being the top dogs. First we had Priscilla, now these eaters. The survivors can fight them and come out alive, and somewhere you still have the first two Claymores with their combine awakening ability.
Yeah, but Riful seems to already have a countermeasure in place in the form of Rafaelia/Luciella madness.

Dammit, I realize it's gonna be the climax of, like, the next arc, but I want to see the Raki/Clare reunion.

It's going to be fantastic but not for that reason exclusively.

Clare: I found traces of Raki in one of the northern towns. In a Dungeon.

Miria: !

Clare: But the keys were untouched. Probably they couldn't look for the key before trying to escape... or they just abandoned him. Anyways, Raki broke down part of the wall with his own strength and escaped through the hole.

Clare: Doing that all by himself must have taken more than one or two days. But that was actually his luck. Those who hurried to the surface, when the awakened beings attacked, became their prey.

Clare: After escaping from the dungeon, Raki sees the already ruined town. It is a secenery of desperation... but he takes heart and finds human food. If he managed to arrange some equipment as well, surviving shouldn't have been that difficult...

Clare: Next, if he could his hands on a horse, or some allies, if possible both...

Miria: Don't rely on your persuasive power here. This is such a frail and foolish way of thinking.
Well... that is exactly what happened. Raki broke out and was wandering around town looking for other survivors, and probably supplies. Then he found/was found by Pricilla and Isley. They took him in and gave him a horse.

Now he's wandering around with Priscilla, and he knows she's an awakened being. He was confronted by a Claymore about it and basically said "Well, every day she's with me she's not eating people, so that's good! But eventually she'll go crazy with hunger and transform into a monster. But if she's half-starved, I could win! Nice! Or at least I'll die trying."

Raki is, like, a paladin.

More than the Ghosts, though, I want to see him call out Rubel or something. I bet they would be friends who don't trust each other.

Major plot movement in this latest chapter. Things are really going now. Spoilers:

Eisley is dead. The Feeders beat and ate him. The Organization also grabbed the piece of Rifle that the 7 cut off early in the arc, and have sent a group of Feeders after her. The number 1 and 2 are following, Alicia and Beth. The Organization is looking to finish the Abyssals immediately.

Oh, and the 7 have a healer on their team. Cynthia, so Helen will get her eye back.

His last thoughts were... strangly wistful to be honest. I was surprised.

Here everyone thought that Iseley was just a heartless Youma when really he had grown something of a heart.

I wish he had come into the story earlier so that we could have actually seen it though.

That's why I lothe timeskips. Granted I can see the necessity... but still, when crap like this happens you miss all kinds of good developments.

remember isley was not originally a monster he was human before claymorization gues some of those feelings are reawakening too bad he won't get to enjoy them. Man those zombie claymores are nasty id rather have an abyssal than those

Oh, baaaw. I'm sad - I liked Isley, and was looking forward to seeing how the weird family dynamic betweem he, Raki and Priscilla worked. :(

Ah well, nothing to be done about it now.

There will probably be a bonus chapter about it sometime.

Huh. The only vague link between Claire and Rafaela that I can remember, is that Rafaela met Teresa once, when Teresa was a child. That doesn't seem anywhere near enough of a reason for this, though, so I'm inclined to think that it's something else - something bigger, which we don't know about yet.

Anyone else got any theories?

Another chapter is out. While I understand what happened in the main section, I'm not sure how it happened or why. I hope that gets explained later.

Well, the shit has hit the fan. Rifle seems to be quite screwed unless she gets some help.

Not a sure thing though. She's fairly fresh so she should be able to handle the Abyss Eaters, and with Dolf there it should limit Beth's chances to stand still and support her twin.

I don't know, but it almost feels like Claire was willingly removed from the merging of the two claymores without trying to damage her. Rafaela's memories and feelings were completely grafted into Claire.

Which can mean two things.

One - Claire now has all the knowledge Rafaela's held about the organization, down to the very secretive things they told her and kept away from all the other numbers.

and

Two - Memories = experience + understanding and usage of Youki. Not to mention it also looks like Claire was absorbed first and then rebuilt by Rafaela using an extension of herself which was then combined with Claire's own Youki powers. So in a nutshell Claire just got a HUEG power-boost. If her strength went from say being able to fight single digits from 2-4 to being able to eclipse the current number 1. Of course that's all speculation, but the way the chapter played out. That's my best bet.

After all someone has to take on Priscilla.

Priscilla is weak now. Starving herself has likely put her on a level that the other Abyssals would have killed her, and this new Rafaela hybrid definitely would have.

I see a big brawl between Rifel and Eaters + The Two.

Meanwhile, Clare will attempt to euthanize the Conjoined Being. But she'll fail and the Conjoined Being will attack whomever is winning that other battle. It will be a massive, three-faction free-for-all.

Just when something decisive is about to happen, Raki will be all "OH HI GUYS WASSUP" and someone will try to squash him; Priscillia will take exception and, despite being starved, she's still the invincible big bad that forced all these other power ups in the first place; plus she'll be fresh.

Then we will see: Raki and Clare make eye contact. They will ignore everything else, specifically the huge monster battle in the background.

"Raki." Clare said.

"Clare." Raki said.

"Raki!" Clare starts to run towards Raki.

"Clare!" Raki starts to run towards Clare, but not as fast. Because he's just a normal human.

"RAKI!"

"CLARE!"

They will then collide midair and passionately smooch; something in the background will explode, possibly Priscilla.

...

yeah.

More seriously, I have a feeling there are going to be... I'm gonna say two last minute rescues, where somebody shows up at the very last second to block an attack or something; it will be the "surprise reveal" kind of cliffhanger. I think Helen will jump the gun for hers, so it won't count, but I'm pretty sure Miria will get one. Dietrich might be the other one.

I'm not sure how Priscilla and Raki factor in to this. I want the Raki/Clare reunion, but I'm beginning to think that it will be the last resolved plot thread of the whole manga. Priscilla will probably just provide creepy-little-girl dialog like she did during the Pieta shindig.

The new being isn't going to be brawling anybody. She just casually swatted Rifle and Dauf with an ability that seems to spawn new youma.

:evil2: Hm.

Clare doesn't hold a candle to Miria in terms of looks.

Yeah, Miria is definitely the hottest claymore. I wonder when she's going to show up again.
