Ah, that story. Lelouch is apparently a reincarnation of someone from the other series. I dropped it when identity crisis became the plot (as well as screwing up it's own plot), C.C. appeared as an annoying 'I'm holier than thou', & some other issues. Oh, it has a few more annoying shoujo cliches played straight (immensely annoying since they are part of setting the background, besides the prologue). I also don't recall how Suzaku received carte blanche to attend Ashford.

Mind you, it's possible that some of this is due to the crossover background, but I couldn't stand it.

Honestly, I'm not sure my opinion is much more than a rant, because I basically read the first few chapters, skimmed a couple more, & jumped to a later chapter before I stopped reading it. So it's dependent on your tastes aligning more towards mine's than of chronodekar's.

From I recall, the story is a BlazBlue or Guilty Gear-based Lelouch that was double mind-wiped & eventually invokes (er, apparently wishing he didn't) a rebellion that fits with the fusion background. So less about strong versus weak & more about discrimination. Oh, on the shoujo part, Suzaku & Lelouch are the knight & prince of Ashford, which sort of fits for Suzaku, if we can find out how he entered in the first place, & is wtf for Lelouch. If nothing else, Lelouch standing out breaks it for me. Kallen also seems to have missed the memo regarding subtlety as well.

I found it by browsing the whole section until November or so. The only stories I found interesting were <a href='http://m.fanfiction.net/s/6024885/1/' target='_blank' rel='nofollow'>Stories from Ashford</a>, <a href='http://m.fanfiction.net/s/5744186/1/' target='_blank' rel='nofollow'>St Valentine's Storm: The Crown of Love!</a>, & the oneshots <a href='http://m.fanfiction.net/s/7693400/' target='_blank' rel='nofollow'>The Immortal Witch's Associate</a> & <a href='http://m.fanfiction.net/s/7657091/' target='_blank' rel='nofollow'>Hey Kallen</a>. The former for being strongly characterized oneshots of various people from Ashford, OCs & extrapolated side characters, & how they view Lelouch before the series start. The latter being a straight up guilty pleasure of a self-formed harem during Lelouch's reign as emperor.

Wasn't Lelouch rather popular with the female students in the main series? And how did Suzaku end up being popular at all, given that he's an eleven?

Or is the background that different that There was no invasion of Japan?

Well, there was no invasion of Japan. It was destroyed by the Black Beast and the Gear Rebellion of Justice, so Area Eleven is basically the Eleven Sacred Preserve of Humanity. So there is no much discrimination against Japan but rather discrimination against Gears.

Also about the Knight and Prince thing, I think those were nicknames. Suzaku and Lelouch studied together in Ashford ars and magic, so they got those nicknames because they were so good fighting and defeated rampaging Gears .

Suzaku is basically Ky reborn here with his thunder magic and will join the Holy Order to fight Gears, while Lelouch is another Command type Gear who is rebelling against the discrimination against Gears.

All in all, its a nice fusion with lots of details that fans from the three series can appreciate. Like Sol being one of the previous emperor of Britannia, who created Knightmares to fight Gears and purify the seither left from the Black Beast.

I think Azure got the description about right. It's not really a Code Geass fic, per se. Neither is it a BlazBlue fic either.

It's more like a totally different story with elements from all the series mixed in.

Perhaps, what appealed the most to me, was that it felt original, but at the same time the cast seems to be in-character. For example, Lelouch is still devoted to his sister and leading a rebellion, Suzaku is his classmate and rival, Milly is being herself, the world is covered with Seither, there is no "eleven racism", but there is plenty of "Gear-racism", Kyoshiro Todoh is a tactician and has his 4 swords with him, there are 3 powers, but they are all so beaten up that not a single one can over-whelm the other (might change as story progresses) .. etc.

Hmm... now that I think about it, if you really want a Code Geass fic, this is barely a half-attempt at it. BUT, damn, it's good story telling, and a lot of things are new to me.

As far as I can tell, the BlazBlue cast doesn't make any appearances. If anything, I'm suspecting that Lelouch is the Black Beast re-incarnated, but the story itself has something called "Juistice" that he's being hinted at.

Honestly, the story WAS confusing for me, but after a few chapters, I started reading it as a stand alone thing (not necessarily a fanfic) and it began to appeal to me.

Justice is the Boss of the First Guilty Gear, she was a Command Type Gear who rebelled against humans pretty much like Sigma does in Megaman X until the Holy Order and Sol defeated her.

They call Lelouch or rather Zero, Justice reborn because he is another Command Type Gear, who can force control all gears near him to his whims and probably start another Gear Rebellion. Compare it to Megaman X, I guess.

Its a nice fic, very original in how it fuses and uses the three series, yet it is one that people will enjoy more if they know some more of Guilty Gear and to a lesser extent Blaze Blue. But nevertheless I believe if a reader pays attention it can stand alone.

Reading the Teach Me Student Council chapter helps a lot to understand the background, why Knightmares and Gears exist and other stuff..

It's a good story, not so much a good fanfic. I'm enjoying reading it, but it's not exactly Code Geass, or even Gulity Gear.

I'm wondering if the author plans to bring in more BlazBlue... so far except the magic system and the Black Beast it doesn't seem to be part of the story. I'm also wondering if CC is supposed to be Justice.

Ok, just got done reading this one, and I honestly think it's a good idea, but it's execution leave a lot to be desired, and characterization seems to get shoved aside for cheap laughs. It really tries to hard to get a laugh, and the jokes, 4th wall breaking amongst others just get grating really fast.

And what should be the main strong point of the fic, that is, the interaction of the females, always comes of as forced and unfunny.

Honestly, I'd prefer to see a slightly more serious take on the idea behind it.

You fixed the link. I have no idea how people can tolerate that other site.

As you mentioned, it leaves a lot to be desired, which is why it's a guilty pleasure. I like the idea enough to skim through it.

Anyways, I like the mobile version, so it gets pulled over when I copy & paste.

Yay, I've experienced zeebee1's condescending one-liner for the first time.

You know, maybe if people reviewed it, and pointed out where the problems are, the author might be more inclined to try improving their story.

Hopefully.

:headbanger: NO!

-sigh- <_<

It's different people wanting different things and desiring them to different levels that makes the world what it is.

Really? I thought it was evolution.

SCIENCE!! Why have you lied to me so?!

Evolution is nothing but the end result. Those that survive are are part of the evolutionary process, but evolution doesn't actually control the world.

It does if you're Ash Ketchum.

I would like to recommend this,

<a href='http://www.fanfiction.net/s/7698804/1/' target='_blank' rel='nofollow'>Code Geass: The Corrupted</a>

It's a crossover with BlazBlue and Guilty Gear. Well, crossover, is really stretching things. Perhaps, it's more of a fusion of them all? Even if you aren't familiar with the crossover elements, the author explains things reasonably well. He even has a chapter dedicated for the back-story.

Among all things the author is updating at a VERY fast rate. Heck, reminds me of GB's golden days. There's good writing, a cohesive story and intriguing plot.

For a story of this quality with over 100k words, the LACK of reviews is appalling! Fix it guys!

Long time lurker, first time post.

I just spotted this and was pleasantly surprised. I know the author offline, he's a workaholic with a mental condition I cannot name, decent guy. Loves to really fan it up, goes off on his own when we meet if a "story occurs to him". This latest craze of his is to cope with a very stressful event at the end of last year, I believe he initially wrote a fanfic to that extent (at least, I think he mentioned posting it.) I would just like to express my thanks for recommending him, especially in this exacting forum, TFF. I think it would mean a lot to him (I'll point it out when I'll meet him again) to know someone other than his friends are appreciating his work. It would certainly stop him procrastinating on this as he's doing to his other works.

He rarely, if ever, reads reviews or personal messages on his FF account, if you're interested or have some questions regarding the story, drop me a line and I'll do my best to relay it to him.

And with that, I go back to being faux-anonymous.
