Actually, didn't Klaus studies imply that the whole Spark thing is related top thehuman brain structure ? If that is actually the case and he was right, then wouldn't a different, alien brain structure make becoming a Spark impossible ?
Klaus only confirmed taht Sparkyness is related to the brain in some way, but he's not even sure if it's a matter of physical structure, chemical imbalance or whatever else - it's why he's still studying it instead of having figured it out.
All he knows is it's in the mind. HOW it pops out, however, he has no idea. Just as he has no idea whether it's human-only or not, but the latter is due to lack of subjects - there aren't any really nonhuman humanoid sentient races in GG, closest would be Jagermonsters and they are human-based since they are made from mixing human and beast DNA, if memory serves. If Klaus got his hands on genuine extra-terrestrial creatures, be they demons or aliens, he could conclusively figure at least that out, but as it is, he doesn't have any hard evidence for basically anything regarding Sparks.
