Doctor Who

David Tennant is also back for one last round as the Doctor.

I wonder if the member of the sisterhood was one of the women from Brain of Morbius.
That is to say, she was played by an actress from that episode.

Uhoh.

I just realized... if Hurt is actually one of his regens as we now know, that means the new Doctor will be

The Last Doctor!

This is where it get's funny, War Doctor is a result of drinking a life elixir designed t bring him about. I have no idea what that will do to the Doctor. I admit it's an escape hatch but one they could choose to employ.

considering that the 12 regeneration limit is setup by the Time Lords and they could extend and take away regenerations at will (they brought back the master for the war despite during 8th's TV movie was his last regen.) its likely that the President who ever it is at the time would have remove that limit during the time war with the daleks.

While it's obvious that there are methods and treatments to add new regens, I don't think it would be as easy as you suggest to increase the number of them for all Time Lords.

That also assumes that the Doctor would have been put through such a treatment, as he was obviously keeping himself out of the War.

True, but the War Doctor, being a War Doctor, might have had them added to him for pragmatisms sake. Even if he knew that upon regenerating he'd hate himself or whatever I can see him getting the most out of it while he was still all warlike and pragmatic as I assume the War Doctor to be.

Anyone actually seeing the Day of the Doctor in cinemas today? I've heard there'll be some exclusive footage but the nearest cinema is a bit of distance from me so I don't think I can be arsed.

Sadly not I.

Well that was awesome to say the least. I really can't see many people being disappointed with all that they threw into The Day Of The Doctor. At least that is my opinion. I a sure someone will find a way to complain though.

It probably won't take long for spoilers to be posted, but let me just say I loved this episode and what it promises for the future. Also the Christmas Episode looks fantastic.

Indeed.

At least we now know where John Hurt's Doctor fits in.

Such wonderful time-twisting.

Cross ALL the timelines!

The one thing that slightly confuses me is how this result fits in with The End of Time.... but I guess we've already sort of got an explanation in the form of the cracks in time that essentially undid all of 10's adventures.

Loved Tom Bakers cameo, also loved the fact that 12 had a cameo, as well as the throwback to the classic console room.

Dr Who newb here, so forgive my ignorance: Where exactly does Hurt's doctor fit in? I'm not up to date on the timeline...

Also: I was under the impression that Time Lords only had 12 lives... Wasn't that the basis of the Eighth Doctor's tv special? The Master used up his lives/regens and tried to take over the Doctor's?

Does this make Matt Smith the Last Doctor, technically?

All in all, if I wasn't a fan before, I am now. Awesome episode. Loved it.

John Hurt's Doctor fits in between 8 and 9.

The 12 regen limit was enforced by the other Time Lords. We already know Matt Smith isn't the last, as we know about Peter Capaldi. He was even in the special, for a split-second.

"No! All 13!"

I was satisfied on how the War Doctor was portrayed, not as I was expecting, but satisfied nonetheless. I will admit, I look forward to where the plot is going and if said planet and its residents are indeed coming back.

... You know, I completely forgot about Capaldi.

EDIT: Anyone catch the Graham Norton show tonight? The fan who showed up during the Q&A that looked like Matt Smith... Heh. Twins separated at birth. :)

This made the audience come more buckets than Aphrodite's descended harem.

Best. Fiftieth. Ever.

I was very interested about the concept of the Time Lord 'Art'. A single moment of time frozen? Does that mean once can step into the frame and just look around?

Still happened.

But probably due to the nature of them breaking free of the Time Lock and then being forced back into the Time Lock, the only difference for the Time Lords is that they suddenly have a very angry Master rampaging around.

That actually came to mind in the shower this morning. The master and Rassilion should still be alive and if the Doctor finds them and breaks the moment, they will come back.

Along with the very reasons why the 10th didn't want them to come back in the first place.

Annoying as it will be to deal with The Master and Rassilion once again, I think it's a fair price to pay for those the Doctor managed to save.
