Given that historically Gilles didn't start murdering children until after Jeanne D'Arc died, I doubt Saber would have been all that happy to see what he had become even if she was the person he thought she was.

Just caught the latest episode, didn't expect Kotomine to shrug off gunfire like pellets.

He has bullet proof priest outfits... it`s what all combat priests wear. n_-

Felt pretty lacklustre all in all. I expected the Lancer/Saber team up to be more dramatic in execution and didn't really care for the other characters.

Except for Kotomine. Kotomine cool. B)

I think Irisveil's trick with the wire was the most impressive thing in the episode. It would have worked had Kotomine not been so inhumanly tough (Honestly, even with bulletproof vestments, his arms should have been bruised to the point of unusability after that charge).

Given how F/SN always had those cutscenes where Shirou activated his Mage Circuits, they should have shown exactly what Kiritsugu's bullet did to Kayneth's Circuits, rather than just the physical aftermath.

That would have been a clever scene actually. Seeing the circuits severed then re-connected and having the magic "malfunction" would have been fitting.

Well, he wasn't quite shrugging them off, on top of having bulletproof vest he has added magical protection and he still felt the hits hit quite hard, stuff lost in adaptation etc.

Iri could have stopped him for a bit longer if she completely tied him to that tree, and not just his arms.

Rin will be adorable in next episode, especially considering what she does is exactly what she berates Shirou for 10 years later :D.

And with Kiritsugu going after Kayneth and Kotomine and Tokiomi spying on Rider in defiance of the order to suspend the War until after Caster's death, the only Masters who haven't broken any of the rules (yet) are Waver and Kariya. Considering that there are only three rules defined so far (Masquerade, Sanctuary, Kill Caster), that says a lot about the current crop of Masters, little of it pleasant.

Waver's method of tracking Caster was clever. He may have denigrated himself because he couldn't use a high-end scrying spell to find Bluebeard, but he was able to get the job done by using what skills he had in a highly effective manner - just like he suggested in the rejected thesis paper that set him on the path to becoming a Master in the first place.

Babar the Elephant is one of the heroic spirits / legendary mounts summonable via the Ionioi Hetairoi.

Next episode: the feast.

That...that just happened. Holy-

And here I thought they were going to stretch out the feast for the rest of the season. How will they end it?

An enjoyable drinking party, so long as you aren't named Saber. I think I noticed a certain individual the animators snuck in, though - did anyone else notice him?

Spoiler theory:
Was that Lord El-Melloi II counted among Ionian Hetairoi?

#68
Pretty sure that's a no. That person is in Type Moon official artwork, a little to the right. Doubt he's who you think he is.

It was great to see the NP animated. Felt quite epic.
Also really not fair: Assassin and Rider can both overwhelm with numbers; what could Servants that don't have anti-army NP (aka Lancer, Berserker) do? Would Saber's anti-fortress NP be also considered anti-army?
Also.. poor Yoruichi. :(

So, it's not future Waver?

Assassin was downright stupid. 'Hey, let's ignore our greatest strength and appear all at once. In front of three powerful Heroes. And let's ignore the masters while we're at it cause its obvious we've got this in the bag. We're a class that's known for gloating over an obviously defeated enemy, right!?'

I believe Assassin was sent to test Rider. Not to take out the masters. They didn't animate the conversation between Tokiomi and Kirei (Act 8 Part 5).
Compared to the four remaining Servants, only Rider makes Tokiomi and Kirei the most restless.
...
ThatÆs to say, apart from Rider, the four remaining groups of people no longer needed to be spied upon by Assassin.
...
To obtain precious information, they can send Assassin to test it out.
Right now, while Rider and his Master were defenselessly having a banquet, itÆs a great opportunity for a surprise assault. At this time, victory doesnÆt matter; the important thing is the difference in battle strength between the enemy and their side. Of course itÆd be best if Rider can be smoothly disposed of; if not, then if they can force him into a desperate situation and get him to use his most powerful ultimate weapon, that would be enough as well.

Ahh, that makes me feel a good deal better about the mindset there. Thanks.

Given that Aesop's Fables were originally Greek, I'm surprised Rider didn't invoke them on Archer. After all, his having no use for the Grail in and of itself but refusing to let anyone else have it on general principle is a good match for the fable of the Dog in the Manger.

Or Urobochi Gen was trolling again and that IS the future Waver. Which means that Iskander KNEW that Waver would make it as a heroic spirit into his reality. B)
