Kind of a random thought, and it would only make for a short parody or something, but what the hell, here goes:

What if Neville didn't just kill Nagini, but with the full power of the Sword of Gryffindor given to him, he killed Voldemort too while Harry was 'dead'?

Neville has been stuck with 'might-have-beens' all his life: Might have been the Boy who Lived, might have been just like his dad as his gran wanted, might have been a chickenshit if not for making friends with Harry, Ron and Hermione, not to mention Lupin's encouragement.

Rather than being bound by fate, a slave to it like Harry becomes, Neville defies convention and takes charge, kicking ass and taking names. Including pulling the Sword of Gryffindor out of the Sorting Hat while it's on fire.

What I'm getting at is that Neville would give Fate and Prophecy the finger. Screw the fact he's not the Boy Who Lived, screw the fact he's not Harry Bloody Potter, screw the fact that Voldemort didn't mark him as his equal! He's a true Gryffindor who showed himself a true hero, and by killing Voldemort himself he'd prove that the wizarding world doesn't have to be slaves to Fate or Prophecy.

That right there would have made up for most of Book Seven for me. I could have forgiven nearly everything else if Harry had woken up to see Neville being cheered, holding the head of Voldemort in one hand and the Sword in the other.

So, it would probably only work for a one-shot deal... But there are a few other things you might be able to do with it. Though personally, like most fanfic authors I'd prefer to imagine that Books 6 and 7 didn't happen.

Still, just a thought.

An interesting idea came to me...one that could be summed up with one sentence.

Grunnings Drills; a Division of Medical Mechanica.

That's right, in stead of going to Mabase in her search for Atomsk; Haruko ends up is Surrey.

Hum...I wonder if N.O. could be considered 'The Power He Knows Not'?

So insanity is the power Voldemort knows not? or is that drugs...

One I would like to see would have Parkinson shouting for Slytherin to grab Harry, as in canon, but a handful of the younger students side with Harry.

Rowling really eff'ed over that house in that book.

Combine it with the Neville idea of AJT, and fun could be had.

No idea how much interest there'd be in this, but it's been in the back of my head the last couple days after rereading 'The Soulforge' along with Harry Potter and the Master of Past and Present by The Caitiff.

Anyways, feel free to blast this idea to pieces, I'm woefully behind on recent developements since the last Dragonlance book that I read (that wasn't set in the past anyways) was Dragons of Summer Flame; though I've heard that Paladine is now mortal or something like that. So, the idea:

Tried to think of a fancy way to state this, but my brain isn't cooperating; Harry Potter is the reincarnation of Raistlin. Decades, centuries, millenium, or heartbeats after his final passing into the afterlife he's reborn in another plane as Harry. Like all reborn souls the experiences and trials of his past life are barred to him. Then comes Voldemort and the Killing Curse. This time Harry doesn't survive because of something ridiculous like his mothers love. As Raistlin's reincarnation Harry has residue of the same magic armor in his very skin (just without the golden tone) that Raistlin created way back during his Test (page 390 of The Soulforge paperback has Fistandantilus confirming it's Raistlin's own doing) and this reflects the AK. Whether the effect remains with him, or is faint enough to be destroyed for good after this one last use is up to whomever uses this idea.

Anyways, this brush with both magic and death has consequences. The bindings upon Raistlins former life have been ever so slightly loosened; with flashes of his former life appearing in the deepest of Harry's dreams. Subconciously Harry feels like he's missing a part of himself, that there should be another presence with him always; both loved and despised at the same time. That he is missing something, that there should be more to life and himself than there is. As time passes you could have him still remain Canon Harry, or close enough - or if you like have him be much like Young Raistlin was, or some mix of the two.

I was thinking once the books start (or you can jump right into them, Child Harry stories can be tedious after all) things could go a couple of ways. You could have it that once surrounded by such a magic environment, the bindings upon Harry's last life slip more and more. Or you could have it that it takes the presence of magic and yet another brush with death (the troll incident or the encounter with QuirrelMort) to bring memories back. At any rate at some point Harry recalls who he was, though not neccessarily all of his memories of his time as Raistlin come at once, or at all ( This could easily descend into an UberHarry crapfest so this'd be up to the author just how complete his realization of who he once was is) Not sure where things would go from there.

Would Harry/Raistlin be entirely disgusted at the magic of the HP world; or interested in how it works, while disgusted by it's limitations and the people who use it (cause HP wizards are an uncreative and unimaginative lot. Most of whom take for granted they have magic and delve no deeper than they have to into how it works or what can be done with it) Would he try to recreate the magics he knew in his last existence, or would he just do his damnedest to learn all that can be learned about the magic of the new life he finds himself in? And I can only imagine his reactions to some of the HP characters, you've got Dumbledore the Par-Salian wannabe. Then there's Voldemort, what would a true Black Robe think of him? How would Harry/Raistlin react to-feel about the Weasely twins? Could be envy at their relationship, or hatred or melancholy or...well I'm sure anyone willing to use this idea would be more creative bout it than I can be.

I'm also not sure if Harry would have the Eyes of Raelana or not. I was always under the impression that the hourglass eyes were a curse bound to his very soul; but when he traveled back in time to before the Cataclysm his eyes were those of his birth. That and I'm not sure how his having Golden eyes with hourglass pupils (or even just green eyes with hourglass pupils) could be passed off by the Durselys, or in the wizarding world. But that'd be up to whomever wrote things, like so much else of this idea.

Ha! Well, I always wondered how long it would take for someone to write (or even suggest) an HP/FLCL crossover.

I've never even seen is mentioned before. I wrote a few notes for one a while back. At the time, I was thinking about what anime could conceivably be crossed with HP (and still be readable), for shits and giggles. FLCL was the first, followed by Big O and Neon Genesis Evangelion (and I'm not even an NGE fan). Basically, I was just seeing if I could believably put Harry into these worlds, or put their characters into his.

The loose idea for FLCL was that it was set to take place not long after Atomsk made a getaway in episode 6 and, somehow, Harry (who has tons of N.O. of his own) either absorbed Atomsk's power himself, before the being could leave the planet, or Harry suddenly found himself able to access his own tremendous amounts of N.O. Either way, Haruko doesn't get far from Earth when Atomsk's trail goes cold and she realizes something's wrong. She goes back to Mabase, hoping to pick up the trail, and is more than a little iritated to find everyone's moved on so quickly without her. To top it all off, the Pirate King is nowhere to be found.
However... a trail does lead to Harry.

Like Naota, Harry is rather angry and frustrated.
Unlike Naota, Harry is older, used to weird shit happening out of the blue, and isn't very easily manipulated by Haruko. Also, he already has a tendency to swing the bat... rather often... and violently... when you least expect it.

So you have a powerful Harry (in magic and N.O.) who isn't going to let Haruko push him around too much and a Haruko who will do nearly anything to get the power she desires. Chaos ensues and death eaters get hurt.

I never thought of Grunnings being a branch of the Medical Mechanica though. That's interesting.

In Harry Potter and the Sword of Gryffindor, there was a comment on how horrible Lucius was at satisfying Narcissa in bed. After he finished, and she was left wanting, the bastard that he is decided to order Dobby to take care of her. This quickly became a common occurrence. I'm sure some of you know where I am going with this. There don't seem to be any laws of nature or physics involved in crossbreeding in Harry Potter. If a giant can breed with a human, what is to prevent other species from doing the same? Introducing Draco the half elf, son of Dobby.

Now Dobby may be a bit crazy, but he isn't stupid. He knows that if anyone found out about this, he would probably be killed, or punished harshly at best. Plus his son would have a horrible life. So being the good little elf that he is, he covered his ass. As he delivered the baby, he cast a spell on the child that hid all his elf heritage from the naked eye. This caused him to take after Narcissa and not Lucius. Draco did always seem to be a bit eager to follow orders, and didn't really attempt serious harm most of the time. When the one time that he did, he wasn't able to follow through with it.

Now where is this leading? It can go anywhere. Perhaps after Dobby is freed, and no longer has to worry about the Malfoys punishing him, and he sees that Draco is a failure at life, and he is, Dobby can attempt to reign in his son. Revealing to him that he is indeed not fully human, nor a Malfoy. After Draco has his hissy fit, Dobby can lay down some ground rules more befitting a house elf. First of all, be nicer to others, as they outrank you, or you will possibly be punished. Especially be nice to the Great Harry Potter. Then after the manners are taken care of, he may train him in his house elf magic. This Draco would be quite pissed off at what he is expected to do, and that now he is a lower class citizen, if one at all.

I for one hate Draco. This could be taken in the path of redeeming him, but I would rather read a comedy where he suffers quite a bit. Which would make the most sense, since the start of this whole situation came from a comedy fic. This doesn't even have to be the main point of the story, it could be something added on later or a side story of sorts. I am not quite sure how strong of a storyline this could be on its own.

Sort of an epilogue to the epilogue:

Harry's had a rather tragic life: his parents died when he was a baby, Sirius, Remus, Tonks, Dobby, and Hedwig died more recently, and Hermione, who was totally loyal to him for about five years, either went mad, or died and was replaced by a pod-person.

Obviously, showing love and loyalty to him leads to death, so he married Ginny, whom he knew would cheat on him. He got the last laugh, though, putting a curse on her, so that she'd only be fertile with him. He then went about cheating on her with Hermione, Luna, Astoria Greengrass-Malfoy, and maybe one or two other girls who know how to be discreet. Scorpius Malfoy and Rose and/or Hugo Weasley might be his children.

Would probably be a dark, nasty piece, or the prologue to a Time-Travel fic. Possibly both.

Well, I came across a rather badly done Harry Potter/Naruto fusion fic, "Ninja Wizard", where Harry saw Naruto as a child and after he did accidental magic, learned to control it and began using it to do ninja techniques and jutsus. Obviously as he isn't Naruto he couldn't make hundreds of Shadow Clones, but he was able to make a few of them and perform other jutsu. In addition he attempted to emulate the taijutsu of the characters.

The fic was absurdly written almost from the get-go and got even more stupid, but the concept is probably as interesting as the Harry Potter as a Sith story concept.

It would be interesting if such a story had a Harry Potter who learned to channel his magic into jutsus. Nothing ridiculously powerful right off the bat, mind you, but if he figured out how to make them real with his magic that could make for a good story if done well.

For the purposes of fairness (since combat in the HP world is rather pathetic compared to combat in the Naruto world), Harry wouldn't be able to move as fast as Lee or anything, which would make him rely mostly on ninjutsu and genjutsu. And this would make the DA quite the force I'm thinking, heh.

But yeah, random thought.

one question, AJT.... what for? whether he wiggles a stick and says one to three words or wiggles his fingers and says one to six words hardly matters.

If anything, it's the energy source that changes, but... beyond that? What's the use in it?

What would you take? A little spell that shoots a burst of light that may or may not stun an opponent, or a jutsu that lets you breathe fire?

A spell to disarm an opponent or a jutsu that creates another you to appear in front of your target and punch him in the nose?

It would be for the lulz, and for the sheer awesomeness of course.

With my Gundam crossover in the TV section with Daniel Jackson as Duo Maxwell, I started thinking about who else could have become one of the Gundam Pilots as several of them have relatively undefined backstories that leave a lot open.

How about Harry as Heero Yuy's reincarnation, or even a pseudo reincarnation that when he "died" in the last book, he got an entire life in before coming back due to the stone. And on top of that, the fact that the thing was supposed to revive Harry Potter things got messed up dropping a younger Harry Potter back to the point where he recieved his Hogwarts letter while slowly regaining both sets of memories.

Harry Potter the Perfect Soldier able to cause more destruction than Sousuke Sagara without really trying as his magic gets messed up in the transition and merger of two beings based on the same soul, namely Harry and Heero being technically the same being due to the reincarnation. However at that point he still has the hardline warrior mentality before the Girl & Dog incident Herro experienced.

Dumbledore attempting to reign in Heero after he "deals" with the Dursleys.

Or how Harry uses some of his memories of Wing Zero and the Endless Waltz memories to inadvertantly cause mayhem while fighting the Basilisk.

xXx

Harry reacted leaping backwards snatching up the Weasley Girls wand and unconsciously calling back his own as he went airborn. He'd timed it perfectly to use the snakes impact after a lunge to launch him higher.

Memories flowed in his head, odd ones as he brought both wands sidebyside before him while the serpent passed beneath him.

Images flashed before his eyes of something he'd seemed to do countless times before with a different pair of weapons. His vision flashed between the scales speeding past and an image of a target with a train of beeps before a tone echoed through his head.

And then he unleahsed his magic from both wands, aiming for the joint behind the skull.

With that it was over as the energy wave burst out, for a moment the Basilisk remained visible until light poured from every opening in it and then even the gaps between scales.

It screamed as Tom Riddle staired in shock.

And then the creature exploded in a catastrophic fireball that expanded through the chamber, throwing the attacking wizard across the room to slam into a wall and sending large chunks of the ceiling falling in on Salazars secret base.

"Mission Complete."

xXx

The Tri-Wizard Tournament will be hell on international wizarding relations.

xXx

People paused as the Boy Who Lived took aim and fired a pistol at the dragon, carefully shooting at the eye.

Shock spread as it collapsed to the ground, dead when the bullet pierced through the back of the eye and embedded itself in the brain of the fearsome beast.

I have an odd Harry cross over idea floating around in my head.

After Harry was left on Petunia's door she soon quickly bounced her nephew to the Evan Sisters cousin in Japan.

After all Petunia wanted nothing to do with the little freak, and she doubted the stuck-up, cold hearted bastards in England would bother her nephew in Asia.

So Harry gets raised by Nodoka Saotome.

This isn't however isn't supposed to be an Uber!MartialArtist!KiMaster Harry.

No it's

Manly!Harry with a heavy dash of Happosai's perverted apprentice.

Sure Harry will actually be good at martial arts; at 15-16 Harry would be no where near Ranma's level but likely a first Dan aka near Akane level, and start trying to emulate the various ki abilities with magic.

Nope this Harry will be developing his skills at magic and in other areas for the sake of being Manly.

.oOo.

"What a haul! What a haul!" was the cheerful cry coming from the tents of the Veela supporting Bulgaria at the World Cup.

"What a haul! What a haul!" came an equally cheerful cry from the other side.

Cries of feminine outrage, squawks of fury, and in a few cases disappointment filled the night air of the Quidditch World Cup.

Two black figures each hauling a filled sack over their shoulders landed in the pathway facing each other.

"Master!" Harry replied cheerfully. "Lovely night isn't it."

"Ah Harry my boy I have to say I collected some very fine silky darlings tonight," Happosai said with a blinding smile. "Now you take the north side and I'll take the south."

That Happosai had already done a quick run through of the north side wasn't mentioned. Even if Harry was the most respectful and appreciative of his apprentices it would be good training for him having to deal with outraged witches.

.oOo.

Fleur quickly found herself revising her opinion of Harry as a little boy as he worked magic with his hands alone.

Gently stroking Fleur's hand and feeding both a bit of his magic and ki into the right pressure points Harry smirked as her eyes started fluttering rapidly and the French Champion started to moan in pleasure.

-------

Somewhere In Nerima:

Nodoka felt a tingle running up her spine and the urge to whip out her fans struck her.

One of her boys was being particularly manly at the moment.

Given Ranma was currently running for his life from what looked to be an enraged Tenticle Demon Nodoka swiftly pulled Harry's fans for a just a quick little dance.

Though Ranma's might have come out later if the signs the Demon kept holding up where the truth.

Frankly Nodoka wasn't too enamoured of being a Grandmother just yet, it was certainly not wise of her son to forgo using protection.

It seemed another fiance was going to be added to the mix if the Tenticle Demon. obviously a father, had its way.

The 'Marry my Daughter or Else' sign was a pretty good clue.

.oOo.

Young Tom Riddle pondered just who dared to intrude upon the rightful domain of Lord Voldemort, as he paid his first visit to the Chamber to rouse Salazar's great basilisk to sweep Hogwarts clean of filth.

"Oy!" a voice shouted in outrage inside the Chamber of Secrets. "Who got my collection of silky darlings dirty. I spent ages getting them clean, ironed and sorted."

Young Tom Riddle who was currently running the youngest Weaslys body like a puppet had wondered why there had been a large number of female undergarments in the Chamber of Secrets.

Though to call some of those concoctions of silk and wire undergarments was doing them a disservice.

A thrill of lust filled Tom's partial soul as he imagined various slave girls he'd gather up to pleasure him wearing some of those items.

"Fu Fu Fu Fu Fu Fu! Soon I'll have a harem of beautiful young witches just for me ," Tom cackled out in Ginny's voice squeezing the diary to the young witches chest.

"But I thought you wanted to be in my harem Ginny," Harry said with his head drooping in disappointment. After all Kaa-san had raised him to be manly, nay a man amongst men, this was a blow his manliness.

"To bad I had to end up possessing the only female Weasly in generations. She'd likely have been a fun little tart. But Lord Volderment Old'Bean, theres always going to be some eggs broken taking over the world and building the harem of harems," Tom continued on lost in the glory of his vision.

Harry frowned at Ginny's weird remarks. This situation was becoming more and more like something Ranma constantly got sucked into.

With a decisive nod Harry put his plan into motion and began gathering his magical energy up within him.

Harry knew he just wasn't a good enough martial artist to even think about trying or using Ki techniques like Ranma and their friends did.

What he did have though was oodles and oodles of magical power just begging to be tapped into.

Thus his own revision of the Mouko Takabisha; Garou Madan.

Or in English the Hungry Wolf Magic Bullet. Harry just preferred calling out Garou Madan.

With a deep breath Harry's glowing green eyes focused on the red headed young girl before him. Even if she wasn't possessed messing with his silky darlings was an outrage needing to be punished.

"Garou Madan!" Harry cried out as a purple-greenish bolt of energy flashed out from his hands and smashed into the unaware Ginny knocking her out cold.

"Say. Could you keep it down Master," a voice coming from someone or something very big asked. "Something I ate isn't sitting right, I'm queasy enough as it is without all the shouting."

Harry blinked.

"So that's where Akane's triple chocolate brownies ended up escaping to," Harry hissed out. "If you're dumb enough to eat Akane's cooking it its your own fault Electra."

The Christmas cake she had sent him last year had, Hagrid had informed Harry with glee upon his return this fall, had settled in nicely and was terrorizing its own corner of the Forbidden Forest.

Not to mention a odd number of young animals appeared to have been fathered by a Christmas Cake. It wasn't every day you saw a wild boar already prepared with fruit and whiskey in its flesh.

Coming into view a nearly 100 foot long basilisk attempted to give Harry the 'Bambi' look to garner sympathy and no doubt a good rub down.

--------

Cologne read through the note young Harry had sent along with the parcel once again.

"First Ranma, now Harry," Cologne clucked her tongue in disbelief. "Happi's new boys are certainly effective at drawing female attention."

The still form of Ginny Weasley didn't comment. Not that she would have understood Cologne anyway since the Amazon Elder was speaking Han Chinese.

Thankfully Son-in-law #2, Shampoo's younger cousin Cream was close enough in age to Harry to make a good match, had not only included several copies of the recipe for the magical potion but most of the ingredients as well.

"Don't worry my girl I'll get you unpetrified shortly and then we'll go about making sure you suffered no lasting harm from the possession," Cologne stated then cackled cheerfully. "Though the encounter with Son-in-Law #1 and his circus may end up being even worse."

------------------

Happosai frowned at the journal Harry had sent him again.

Here he was trying to keep track of his collection of silky darlings and the darned thing kept soaking up his ink.

"That's it I'm using a pencil," Happosai muttered.

Two hours later Happosai finally finished catalogued his current stash of panties and bras.

Rubbing his belly, Happosai moaned "I feel like I ate something terrible. Maybe some food and sake will make me feel better."

Leaving to go eat, err ahem train his wayward students Soun and Genma Happosai went to put his plan into action.

Inside his room the journal of one Tom Riddle fell apart into specs of dust.

Apparently there are more terrible and evil people than Lord Voldemort.

Much to the fraction of Tom's souls dismay it had just run into one of them.

"Come on boys the nights young, and I feel like I could eat a horse!"

.oOo. .oOo.

Yup its pretty silly but at least this Harry isn't either a ) beaten like a red-haired stepchild b ) Super!Harry without a lot of work c ) a wimp with the ladies.

You could also have setups with other things, especially with the timing it is quite possible that she's not a biological cousin. Perhaps Petunia's uncle remained in Japan post WW2 and married a widow or something similar, whether or not Nodoka was born before or after that is up for grabs. A friend of mine had a situation similar to that, but the family was brought over to the US with his father being fully Japanese and brought over as a child when his mother married an American Marine.

ZeeBee I never answered put in the connection to show how Harry was related to Nodoka other than that they were cousins.

Though the way I was picturing it was one of Lily and Petunia's Aunt's marrying somebody from Japan. As Nodoka's thus far nameless fathers second wife.

Besides which for a fic bordering on crack does that concern really matter anyhow?

How about a situation where Harry is found before the Dursleys open the door in the morning, he is found by an old Jedi traveling the galaxy and taken to Dantooine to be trained as a Jedi. Unfortunately as he completes the Jedi training, the Mandalorian Wars break out.

Being Harry, he is one of those attempting to get the Jedi to join the war as he becomes a Knight at age eleven and is one of those who follow Revan and Malak to join the Republic because he sees it as the right thing to do being expelled from the order and leaving his lightsaber to construct a new one.

He becomes a leader and eventually a general during the war, he is the one who orders the Mass Shadow devices use on Malachor V, and removes his connection to the force as a result.

However, instead of what the Exile did in the normal universe, Harry does not go back to the Jedi when they then join the war that has already been won. He returns to the Republic and when the orders to reduce the military go through, Harry uses what was awarded him in payment for his services in the form of one of the smaller capital ships sent to be dismantled and takes those loyal to him to a planet only he and his former mentor knew about, his birth world...Earth.

As he enters the system, he has just turned fourteen.

Dumbledore had set up some tracking of him, and knows he's alive and within range of the spell. He begins to move to find out what happened to Harry and, if possile, take control of him.

Meanwhile plans for the Tri-Wizard tournament are finalized and the small group of soldiers and families try to pick a place to use.

Interesting.

Something similar yet different to this is being talked by Ruskbyte in his new story Culture Shock. Instead of the Star Wars universe you suggested he uses Iain Banks' The Culture universe. Without the corruption and almost utopian, but without a shred of Magic in it. Before Harry came along.

Both your idea and Ruskbyte's plot are interesting and contain some gaps. You have to explain how did Harry manage to convince the Jedi Council to knight him at 11. Obi-Wan was knighted at the age of 25. Anakin at 22. He has to explain why none of the 42 trillion inhabitants of the Culture can wield magic.

Ah, well. No plot is perfect. Using other canons as plot devices, creating crossovers, may be fun, but it's very hard to get a tight fit.

P.S. There was also Harry Fett Becoming a Hunter, but it only got 1 chapter in, before the author vanished.

There is no magic there is only the force. For all we know what the wizards use is really the force just used in a different and strange way. As for the knight thing that could be a bit more difficult. You could say that Revan was his teacher and pushed him into his trials early because he knew he was going off to war.

Not always, the Knights era has several cases of people becoming knights without the council being involved. It requires at least one Masters permission. One major example of that is Nomi Sunrider who's training took just under a year.

With Obi-Wan it was supposedly somewhat unusual for someone to be a Padawan that long. And Anakin wasn't trained from the start.

Of course you also have Revan being "trained" in a week, but that's something else.

Revan was more remembering than training. And you have to remember that Revan is one of the four greatest force adepts in recorded history. He is that strong. IIRC one person who saw Vader, Anakin and Palpatine in the future but still saw Revan as the manifestation of the force. Revan was brilliant on an entirely diffrent level. he was a an unequaled strategist on the level of Thrawn, a incredible mechanic, he was a nearly unbeatable combatant and an expert pilot. Yes I would say that Revan learning everything in a week is different.

And you are right Soft, Obi-wan WAS unusual for still being a padawan at the age he was in Phantom Menace.
