I was only recently reminded that Keiaro had a talent for baked goods. It works well in this story as it gives him another avenue to help the league that is not directly related to combat. I mean after a bad day, a heavenly piece of cake from a dear friend can often lift a persons spirits.

And in the anime he had a talent as an artist, I may add. In the manga I think math and baking were his strong points from the beginning.

"Any why is Batgirl in a bikini?" Kara asked with a raised brow.

"A sport top and bicycle shorts is not a bikini. It's a modest tankini at best," Dinah defended with a pooly hidden grin.

"Canary~" Kara prodded with a Look.

"What? If you really want to help Keitaro get over his issues they should both be doing this naked. That would get him over his shyness and force him to confront several things at once. I just thought that would be a little too much for him at this point," Dinah responded with a smirk.

Kara thought it was rather mature of her that she held back her thoughts on Black Canary's suggested attire for the exercise before she stormed out of the room.

Once Kara was fully out of sight Dinah snorted to herself and muttered, "Not interested in him my fishnet-clad ass."

"I heard that," Kara shouted from around the corner at the end of the corridor.

"You could hear it if I was at home in Gotham and you were in Metropolis," Dinah shot back, even going so far as to stick out he tongue in Kara's general direction in case she was still watching the proceedings with X-ray vision.

"I am not interested in Keitaro....not in THAT way...." Kara mutters as she stomps down the hallway, the sight of Dinah's tongue still fresh in her mind. For a moment Karen's smirking face flashed through her mind.

'You're going to have to face the truth eventually.' she'd been sipping her hot Coca, just as calm as could be when she and Kara had 'chatted' about her dealings with Keitaro in the cafeteria. 'You like him Kara, and right now you've got the best chance with him....' Power Girl's smile was so smug and self asured as she'd leaned back in her chair with her hot Coco '...for now...but once I get serious...' she hadn't bothered to finish the statement. She'd just inhaled, making her chest rise in that stupid costume of hers.

Kara forced herself to stop, the memory of that indcdent causing her anger to rise. Insinuating that Keitaro would pick Karen over her just because Power Girl had bigger ti--

"Kara...is something wrong?" she turned to find her cousin favoring her with a concerned look .

"Sorry, no...I'm just..." she sighed "I'm just tired of people trying to force Keitaro to pick someone. I mean Dinah's with him right now using Batgirl to teach him the Tango. Wonder Girls mother has already invited him over for Dinner this Friday, and Kyle keeps using Secret as their model whenever the two practice drawing." she sighed "It's like they'er all determined to pair him up with someone!"

Superman nodded as he stood next to his cousin. "Well Kara this is partly your fault." he raised his hands for peace when she turned a glare on him "You've been very vocal about your feelings for his promise girl, Naru. Most of the other leaguers have never met her or the other girls at the Hina Inn. So when they hear you talking about a highly abusive girl taking her own frustrations out on Keitaro many are going to feel the need to help him." He smiled wryly "Helping people is why we're here after all."

Kara blew out an annoyed breath, pushing some hair out of her eyes. "All right fine...I get that but I'd still rather they let him come out of his shell on his own and not force him."

Superman patted his cousin on the shoulder "You're a bright girl, I'm sure you'll think of something."

Grumpy Ass and Diana were the first to toss rice as Keitaro and his new bride exited the church. The couple waved at the mostly cheering crowd, before returning their gaze to each other. "Ready?" The Ronin asked.

Kara smiled back "Ready." She wound up and hurled the Boquette.

"3X2(9YZ)4A!" Jesse Quick began, as Selena Kyle pulled a whip from somewhere on her dress and flicked it at the flowers. Other women moved to take the prize as Keitaro scooped his bride up in his arms and soared into the sky.

Which is when Kara woke up. She pursed her lips, grabbed her biggest stuffed animal and wrapped her limbs around it, burrying her face in it's fuzzy body. "Okay subconscious, not helping...."

Oracle noted that the newscater managed to maintain a detached air as she continued on. "Since the Joker and his gang have taken over Arkham, the Police have been out in full force searching for these bombs. The local criminal element, taking advantage of the distracted police force, and the fact that Batman is currently detained in Arkham have taken to the streets in a wave of crime sprees...."

Oracle shook her head, they should've watched the Joker more carefully, but with Batman having been seemingly 'killed' by Darkseid, they'd all struggled to maintain the peace in Gotham City. Now their inatention was consting the city and their Mentor as Joker enacted his latest mad scheme.

"If you all need me, I can be there within an hour." She turned her gaze from the tv and resumed typing as Dick's voice came over the comm.

"Well, right now Batgirl, Robin and Ronin are handeling the opportunistic crooks, and the police are sweeping for the Bombs." she pulled up some documents and schematics of Arkham Asylum. "Here, I'm sending you all the data I have on Arkham, perhaps you can find a way in to help Bruce."

"I'm on it." Dick replied "Stay in touch and let me know if anything changes."

Oracle switched channels "Robin, what's you're situation?"

Tim Drake stared down for his perch as the cops chased a car through the streets of Gotham. "We were on our way to link up with Batgirl when we ran into a robbery. We'll intercept the crooks and then catch up with her, Robin out." Robin looked aside to his companion "Ronin, what do you see?"

Once Tim had hated the young man standing next to him, but after the shared expierence of being the only two people to believe Bruce was alive, and then being proved correct, their relationship had improved, somewhat. "Three are carrying Glock pistols, one has Desert Eagle and the drivers unarmed." Ronin kneeled . "And they're all wearing seat belts."

Tim smiled "Really? You know that make of car has driver and passanger side airbags."

Ronin looked at him for a moment then nodded in understanding, the hint of a smile touching his lips "Oh...I see gotcha." He stood, gauging the distance as Tim fired his line and began to swing. Ronin's Kryptonian muscles bunched and he sprung, enhanced abilities guiding his fall. Keitaro slammed through the hood of the fleeing car after falling from ten stories up.

Showing that the Car was in fact well designed, the airbags deployed, saving the Driver and passenger from serious injury while also putting them both out of the fight. Keitaro laboriously extracted himself from the wreck of the car as one of the passenger in back, stumbled out of the wreckage "You..." he swooned, falling on his rear as he raised the Desert Eagle in shaky hands. A well aimed Batarang thrown by an unseen Robin knoced the weapon from his hand as Keitaro moved forward, snatching it up before it hit the ground.

"Huh...a Mark XIX Desert Eagle in.50 Action Express." Keitaro began, examining the weapon, his talks with Robin paying off. "...with upgraded finger groove grip...." He nodded as he grabbed the weapon and bent it in half. "Play doh...."

The crook stood and ran/stumbled towards an alley, only to be slammed into feet first by Batman's young ward. "Come on, the cops have it from here." Robin fired another line as Keitaro bunched his legs and lept the nearest tall building.

"Fried Bat, hot of the grill!" Live wire hurled bolts of electric Death at Batgirl, who vaulted and dodged to the best of her ability "Sheesh, agile little Killjoy aint ya!" The electric villain mocked as she adjusted her aim.

Batgirl had a moment of calm realization as her abilites told her exactly where Live Wire was aiming, and her expierence informed her that she wasn't fast enough to arrest her current momentum in time to save herself.

That's when strong arms grabbed and spun her away from the bolt of lightening

Ronin grunted as he took a bolt square in the back, having arrived in time to save Cassandra. Live Wire didn't stop, she just kept pouring on the juice. "Oh a gentlemen...see it's stupid acts like that...which caused the death of chivalry." she laughed as Batgirl rolled to her feet, Batarang clutched in her hand "Oh come on...you think that's going to hurt me?"

"This will." Live Wire turned just in time to catch a face full of water as Robin redirected the flow from the street Hydrant.

Author notes: That's enough for now, hopefully you all enjoyed this. I may add more later, as the idea is that Robin, Ronin and Batgirl are in charge of the City while Batman is stuck in Arkham during the events of the Game Arkham Asylum.

Given at a major plot point of AA is that a fire at Blackgate forced the prison to transfer their prisoners to Arkham until repairs were made, wouldn't having this snippet imply that Batgirl's father is also in the Asylum? What's he doing during the battle?

Cain was in Blackgate? I thought he was high enough priority to be in Belle Reeve. Maybe I'm thinking of Cheshire.

Perhaps they transfered Cain to Belle Reeve, figuring that putting him in with the crazies might be a little much at that point for security to handle.

Well, Cass flat-out said that in BATGIRL #25... right before rewinding and erasing the message left on Oracle's answering machine.

So when are Motoko and Naru going to stop staying put, since I can't imagine them being as easy victims as Sue Dibny was, and that like Lois Lane, Jimmy Olsen and other DC mundanes despite getting into a lot of trouble when they didn't stay put, they did sometimes turn out as assets due to bad guys underestimating them or overlooking them at the wrong time, showing that there's more to them than being a cheerleading squad or damsels/gentlemen in distress for the DC heroes?

I think we already stated that Motoko's going to be drafted. They aren't in the Arkham Asylum snippet because Keitaro was in Gotham on business, and they weren't with him.
