Kuvira's Gambit

....Korra, good work all around. You hit the enemy where it hurts and came up with a viable method of getting Kuvira to back down without resorting to physical violence. You just underestimated her commitment to taking the city.

Kuvira.....I wasn't sure how far you'd go....I suspected, but I wasn't sure...and after seeing this.....you are officially KoS.

That's how such people gain power. Their followers buy into their rehtoric not realizing the true nature of the monster that's speaking those words.

I will note that I honestly believe (at this moment) that Kuvira loved Bataar Jr. to the extent she is capable of that emotion. However her love for him did not override her need to take the city.

Predictions:

Korra survives and Bataar Junior survives long enough to tell them how to destroy the Colossus. After that anyone's fair game since this is the series finale.

The next episode will show them taking down the Colosus, with the following episode showing Korra's one-on-one fight with Kuvira. Even if they reduce that Mech to scrap, the pieces will provide Kuvira more than enough material to make a fight with Korra epic.

Any place I can watch the Korra finale yet that's not Nick? Their video player is a laggy, stuttering mess for me. So many missing frames.

Implied?....dude that is as close as they could get to flat out stating it on Nick.

edit:

One last thought **** those spirits! No, seriously, they stay out of the fight while people desperately need their help and then show up at the end only to anoint Korra's victory. If those mother******* want to live along side humanity, they need to start holding up their end of this relationship.

I've always had a soft spot for Korra/Asami but I knew it would never happen. That last scene though...

Sorry, I wasn't clear. That's my point.

I never thought it would happen. I would have put money on it never happening. But then the last scene came along and made it happen :D

According to my research, the fandom is saying it's the same tune that player when Aang kissed Katara.

To be fair, the Avatar being BI dosen't surprise me at all. I mean the Avatar has been male and female so many times that Gender may honestly not be playing a role, at all in their relationship decisions.

Anyways...for some reason I want someone to draw an image of Korra, Asami and Mako cosplaying as Marceline, Princess Bubblegum, and Finn (respectively) from Adventure time.

So a BI avatar?

...Meh. We unfortunately won't get to see how that progresses unless there are more avatar comics. Or even a hint that Asami was BI.

Still be neat though. Are you guys sure the hint was legit?

Joy more Spirits. Who did fuck all in times of danger.

Bet they aren't even going to pay taxes.

Suddenly, I have a lot more appreciation for Aang blasting a hole in General Iron's chest.

Them being just good friends is not outside the realm of possibility.....but looking at everything that's happened from season 3 on....I'm feeling pretty good about calling it.

Really great ending, but I'm still sad it's over.

On another note, any idea why Firefox and Nick's video player don't seem to mesh? I had to use Safari to watch it.

I knew this was going to be a solid fight. I mean Korra's on her A game with all the power of the Avatar, but she's on Kuvira's ground surrounded by metal....

RE: new Avatar season coming

It wasn't quite as epic as The Last Airbender's finale but it was a fitting finale for the Legend of Korra.

The last battle between Korra and Kuvira reminded me of the close-quarters, fast-paced fights from the first season. It's intense and in your face. Then Korra actually talked with Kuvira at the end and defeated her through words and compassion instead of pure violence, in contrast to how Aang defeat Ozai.

It really highlighted the differences between the series. It might not have been as grand as I'd have liked - Korra vs Zaheer takes that cake - but I didn't dislike it either.

Korra going head-to-head with the spirit cannon itself in an epic clash was beautiful for me. Crowning Moment of Awesome right there. :sisi:

Fuck the Spirits, btw. Fuck them all.

Korrasami. As much as the idea amused me and even appealed to me since Book 3, I wasn't really expecting anything. Colour me surprised and so very appreciative.

Legend of Korra may not have been as great as it could have been but I come away entertained in the end. That'll do me.

It took them awhile to find their groove, and it didn't help that Nick seemed determined to screw them, but it ended well.

Okay, after a watch, I'd say...it was a decent ending to the show.

The Great:
-The overall growth or Legend of Korra drove the show and it was a good one, minus season 1 and 2's issues.
-The battles were well drawn and animated. I got a bit of a chill during the Mako fight and the fight to get into the Spirit Robo.
-The soundtrack. Just so much awesome.
-The comedic bits helped breathe a bit of relief in the tension and even in the tension. I was especially fond of Varrick and Shu Li's end.
-And the battle ending was nice. Korra's all compassion and redemption so she won.

My gripes:
-I knew Hiroshi was gonna die so I wish we'd seen him earlier for Asami development. I feel that she's gotten the shortest end of the dynamic stick throughout the show and this could've helped with that. It was still a good send off for the guy but I was expecting more.
-Kuvira: Her last minute development/backstory was waaaaaayy too late for me to care. Like I said, maybe some sprinkles of it throughout the season would've made it better.

And my CMOI(Crowning Moment of Indifference)
Korra Asami end: I just don't care. There was little development, it was hinted at in 1 or 2 eps tops, and it was open ended. No confirmation. If there is no confirmation, it's just meaningless ship tease.
...Unless there is a WOG or comic continuation where WOG is stating it.

In the end:
Legend of Korra has been a good to great series despite the executive meddling. The series finale wasn't as epic as S3 but just as good in terms of finality. Korra's had a rough journey but she went through and made it. She also had the right idea: After all that crap, a real vacation would be great.

I give the series an 8/10.

PS:  F%^K THOSE SPIRITS! SERIOUSLY< THEY SHOULD GET EVICTED FROM THE WORLD IF THERE JUST GONNA SIT ON THEIR BUTTS AND DO NOTHING!

F%^K EM! :headbanger::flameon:

You forgot to mention Opal as a pointless love interest. She could have been cut out of the story with no impact on the plot. With her gone they could give more time for other characters who really needed it.

Meh. I was a Bolin/Eska fan anyway so I just gave up on his romance life after that.

You gotta point about Opal though. Personally I didn't really feel much about her. She kinda reminded me of a plot point for the Lin and Sui drama.
