Mass Effect 3 Multiplayer

Just did my first gold match. I used the Juggernaut and actually survived. I like that I can basically use my heavy melee on the big enemies and draw their fire. That takes the attention away from teammates and gives them a chance to attack with less risk. Any tips for the other new classes?

Nearly all of them are strong Melee users.

The Female Turian is essentially Wolverine with poison as her powerset focuses on melee attacks with poisonous claws. Her heavy Melee teleports to the target and starts a combo where additional attacks teleport her around them slashing. Her 'charge' has a short distance but everything from the start of the charge to the end of it ends up poisoned. She makes quick work of Ravagers and swarmers with little effort. One of her powers is a shield/durability boost for a period of time and if specced right, can give a half second of invincibility. I've yet to find the optimum use of her Neurotoxin blades but they do decent damage.

Alliance Infiltration Unit has the fastest heavy melee attack, can self rez as long as she dies with her 3rd power active, and gets shotgun damage bonuses. Give her a Pirahna Shotgun and you can stealth up to your target, unload a clip for massive damage, possibly heavy melee, then bail/repeat as needed.

Talon Mercenary... well I've yet to figure out how to use him well. The trip mines are crazy powerful but his armor piercing arrows, concussion arrows, and Omni Bow in general seem kinda subpar. That they all use the same resource is annoying as well.

Krogan Warlord= Melee all the things. Switch between charging your hammer with electricity and biotic power as needed against the opossition. You have a ton of shields plus the Sentinel armor power on top of an insane amount of health regen once you melee 3 people. You will be having fist fights with Atlases and I think they're big enough to be immune to sync kills like the Juggernaut.

Awakened Collector: Haven't unlocked yet despite blowing 2 million creds. I'm wondering if he's an ultra-rare.

I did unlock the Geth Spitfire assault rifle last night though. It's basically a rifle version of the Geth MG which means it makes an annoying sound but sends an insane spray of bullets that gets faster the longer the hold the trigger. Tried it on a Turian Ghost Infiltrator and was able to stealth multiple times in the same clip for bursts of damage. Great for stripping enemies of their barriers and generally softening up a crowd for the powers of your allies. I'm gonna try it with stability an accuracy mods tonight and maybe on a Soldier with Marksman. So far the only downside is that its so heavy it actually has the added effect of slowing down your walk speed.

Still missing the Gear items, Lancer, Venom Shotgun, Harrier, Typhoon and Awakened Collector.

Just to let you know the Awakened Collector is an ultra-rare, and the Krogan Warlord is not immune to sync kills.

Figures, and doh. Guess I just got lucky. That must mean the Juggernaut is the only one immune.

Just saw this on a Mass Effect-themed tumblr.

One of the new Gear pieces Reckoning added to ME3 MP is the Batarian Gauntlet.

Batarian gauntlet that turns your heavy melee into a slow, heavy-hitting attack.

I REGRET NOTHING.

Volus Vanguard with a heavy punch? I've got to try that...

The other gear item is is a Geth scanner.
Of course they're both extremely rare and the item actually messes up some kits.

There is a new multiplayer challenge. <a href='http://blog.bioware.com/tag/me3operation/' target='_blank' rel='nofollow'>Operation Lodestar</a>.
I have not done platinum difficulty before. Does anyone have any advice for surviving it?

Move. Constantly. Stay together. Don't take uneeded risks. Don't rush for objectives if it will get you killed. Be willing to use missiles but make sure they count. Biotic explosions and tech combos are your best friend.

I'd also add "Always roll with a Geth Juggernaut in your squad. That guy can hold the line."

Just did my first two Platinum matches an hour or so ago. I fought against the Reapers and the Collectors. The matches were tough, but not as difficult as I figured. Are Platinum matches really not that difficult, or did I just have good luck with my teams?

Its actually pretty easy now with the exception of one or two waves purely designed to destroy an uncoordinated team. I've actually found Cerberus to be the most annoying thanks to phantoms and Atlas's soaking up a ton of damage.

I haven't really done ME3 MP in a while, but if this is the last big hurrah, I'd kinda like to be a part of it. Anyone willing to help me out? I can carry my own weight, but I have no advanced classes unlocked, so I'm rocking a Normal Human Vanguard.

Edit: Mostly soloed Cerberus on Silver. One guy jumped in and quit before the round was done, next guy didn't drop in until round 7.

I don't know how good advice it is, but I specced my Juggernaut mostly for defence. You lose some attack power, but can withstand multiple big enemies like Brutes, Banshees, and Atlases, even on Platinum for a short time. This is good for drawing attention from your teammates. The Juggernaut cannot be sync killed so feel free to get up close to them. Heavy attack is your friend. It stuns most enemies, making them easy kills for any nearby teammates. It also refills your shields, increasing your defensive ability even more.

Juggernaut is a tank, pure and simple. Spec the Seige Bolt (?) for damage reduction and the 4'th bolt, max out shields and the Hex Shield. I've used it to tank in Platinum with a fair degree of success, mostly dying when surrounded by Banshees who can still stagger you or when hit by enough Artillery like Scions or Ravagers while trying to fend off said Banshees. That's when the Hex Shield is really useful, also for protecting the people standing behind you with Flamethrowers and Snap Freeze and stuff.

Is it sad that my ideal platinum group is Geth Juggernaut, Krogan Warlord, Alliance Infiltrator, and Awakened Collector?

Juggernaut tanks, Warlord slams the hell out of everything in melee, alternating between Biotic and Electric hammer as needed, Alliance Infiltrator keeps Snap freeze running and cloaked shotgun massacres, and Collector blows things up. In a pinch, the Krogan can act a s asecond tank for enemies that can't sync kill thanks to his crazy regen. The infiltrator will hopefully be using an ammo equip to set off tech explosions w/ snap freeze, the collector the same with biotic explosions and his green ball of death/dark channel. Could switch the Alliance infiltrator with a geth one and the Krogan with an N7 Paladin. Maybe the Collector with the Justicar for Reave happy fun time.
