4/May/2013:
Edited the last sentence of the "TFF Rules- Abridged" post to link to the "Unabridged Rules". See here,
http://thefanfictionforum.net/showthread.php?tid=19506

Explanation: Sheer laziness. Finding the 'unabridged' rules requires about 4 clicks or so from that thread. Adding the link reduces it to one. NOTHING else was edited.

4/May/2013:
Deleted a thread in the 'General Links' section on OP's request. The thread consisted mostly of OP repeatedly saying 'nothing to do here' or something along those lines.

In hindsight, the next time I need to delete a thread, I think I'll try to make some kind of copy to attach to the mod report. Its as I type this that I realize there's no evidence of what action I took. :( Sorry!

It was Estrecca's thread, and Estrecca decided there was no point in keeping it. As all of the posts in the thread except two were Estrecca's (and the two that weren't were Zeebee1 thinking s/he may have been trolling, and chrono pointing out that if s/he wanted the thread gone so bad, s/he could just ask a mod), deleting it was a fairly clear cut decision.

Got a request to delete a thread by OP. I think its a valid one. For now however, I'm locking the thread. Mostly as a gesture for the folks who seem to think we're deleting things willy-nilly. Here's the thread,

http://thefanfictionforum.net/showthread.php?tid=19716

Its a duplicate suggestion thread. I'll delete it later this evening or tomorrow sometime.

Going to delete the thread now. But for those who care, I'm attaching a zip file of the related page (with mobile theme).

Merged a double post on poster request. Here is the new 'merged' post,
(old and new post separated by horizontal line)

http://thefanfictionforum.net/showthread.php?pid=1166447#pid1166447

Personally, I feel that this was a bit redundant. We don't exactly have rules against double-posts on this board, do we? (PM me if I'm wrong - am half asleep now)

Deleted post in Nanoha Time Loops Thread that went as follows:

I hate these damned time loop fics. They all end up the same, just with slightly different scenarios. It's the same damn characters, same damn gags that were barely funny the first time, and the same damned pointlessness to them all. You know the best loop fic I've ever seen? A My Little Pony fic, which stays true to the spirit of what "Groundhog Day" was about. Namely, the star character trying to cope with having to repeat the same day over and over again, slowly bettering himself in the process. That's how you write a time loop fic.

I had hoped. Hoped when I clicked on this that it wouldn't have fallen into the same pit(s) as other the other Innortal time loop fics. I thought, "maybe at least they will stick to just the Nanoha universe. But no. It's the same damn thing.

Don't bother replying; I will never visit this thread again.
If you have nothing nice to say and don't want anyone to say anything about what you say, why bother posting?

I've started making stickies to link to notable/significant threads in different subsections across the forum. So far I've got these done,

[General] Notable/Important threads
[Anime/Manga] Notable/Important threads

These threads will be locked to prevent clutter. If anyone has suggestions, they can PM the staff or make relevant posts in this thread,
http://thefanfictionforum.net/showthread.php?tid=19675

I'll probably take some time to get this done (unstable internet, story writing, real life ...etc), so instead of making multiple 'reports' each time I make a new thread, I'll just update this post.

Got a complaint about an NSFW picture posted in here,

http://thefanfictionforum.net/showthread.php?tid=19615&pid=1171409#pid1171409

I edited the post and moved the picture into the 'Nanoha Lemon Fanfic Ideas' thread in the restricted section. You can find my post in mod color in there.

Also; a PM was sent to the poster. No warnings were issued, just a polite notice.

Forgot to report: on the incident above, I left a message in the thread pointing out that multiple NSFW reports were had for that exact same thread, and to exercise some common sense. Had to delete the initial message and repost it since the first draft was easily misunderstood. Also added a non-mod suggestion to that same post, without mod flair. Just to be accurate.

Stickied the following Nanoha thread as per Nanya's request, as it's useful reference for newcomers to the series.

I can't believe it, but we've got spambots here now (should have expected them sooner or later...). The following thread was reported as spam (I agree),

http://thefanfictionforum.net/showthread.php?tid=19925

For now, I've locked it. The thread starter has just that one post to his/her name and joined today. I'm banning the person (username: ivanjack) for a day (24 hours).

Something I'm not sure of -
Will it be high-handed if I perma-ban the user?
Should I delete the thread in question? (I'd rather move it somewhere instead; to use as an example of what we don't tolerate around here)

This is an executive decision: spambots so blatant are to be IP banned and deleted out of hand. If a user is adversely affected by the IP ban, contact me at thefanfictionforum@gmail.com, on the IRC, or post in the appeals forum, and please explain why a spambot is accessing the forum through your IP address.

I've taken the further step of deleting the post. There's no reason to think any of us would be mad enough to follow those links, but there's no reason to allow them the opportunity.

An unusual technical issue was reported here,
http://thefanfictionforum.net/showthread.php?tid=19720&pid=1179889#pid1179889

Basically, the following post was NOT being displayed (its in another thread),
http://thefanfictionforum.net/showthread.php?tid=18722&pid=1179883#pid1179883

I tried editing and tweaking around. What I found was that the post had an incorrectly closed 'quote' tag. i.e. instead of '/quote' the poster used 'quote'. The post in question had been edited with the fix (and a note from me).

This edit wasn't an official complaint and I acted on my own. Intent was to highlight a (current?) technical issue with the forum and NOT to censor/domineer a discussion.

OP asked me (via PM) to move his story thread,

http://thefanfictionforum.net/showthread.php?tid=19260

from 'Book previews' to the Type-Moon section. It's there now and I've left a redirect in 'Book Previews' for a week (7 days) indicating the move.

When moving the thread, I noticed that there were those odd characters in many of the story posts (looks like a question mark inside a diamond). To remove them, I pressed 'quick edit' on each of the posts and saved them WITHOUT making any real edits. The result is that those weird symbols have been replaced with double-quotes. There are odd grammatical issues, but I think it looks better than before. This was done at my one initiative and NOT requested by OP.

Edited the poll at http://thefanfictionforum.net/showthread.php?tid=20007 on behalf of H-Man. That said, I have no idea how to handle polls, so any further issues with it must be handled by someone who knows how to edit them indepth. Making them is one thing...

Got a spambot report by 2 members. I agree. The poster has been banned for a week and I've moved the relevant thread to our 'Discussion' section.

Purpose of move is to get rid of it from the general area and to give one of our admins a chance to review and perma-ban the spam-bot.

spambot name:johnjohnson07

-chronodekar

EDIT: spam thread in question has been locked as well.
EDIT2: I meant IP-ban. Looks like mods can perma-ban folks if needed.

We got more than one report on the "Nanoha Force" thread (specifically between posts #631 and #700). The general complaint was about folks not being polite. On skimming the thread in question, I can see some name-calling/bashing going on.

My interpretation of the rules is that this kind of stuff is generally allowed. The problem is when someone takes the banter in the wrong way - which is what I feel happened. So I issued a general warning in the thread,

http://thefanfictionforum.net/showthread.php?tid=14363&pid=1191423#pid1191423

I just got a PM from one of the thread posters and feel that the issue is resolving itself (hopefully!).
