Big Macintosh as "DarkPony RiceMare" (aka. Genma)
Princess Celestia as "Peaceful RiceMare" (Nodoka)
Pinkie Pie as "FastCloud SkyLawyer" (Soun can be translated as "Fast Cloud", and Tendo is "Laws of Heaven and nature") and also as "Mist SkyLawyer" (aka Kasumi). No, don't ask how.
Rarity as "Swaying SkyLawyer" (Nabiki)
Princess Luna as "RedHaze SkyLawyer" (Akane)
Applejack as "Right Eternal" (aka. Ukyou, as her name is "Right of The Capital (or Kyoto)" "Eternal (buddhist) Temple")
Lyra as "Conditioner" (Shampoo's alt)
Bon Bon as "Gel" (Mousse's alt)
Granny Smith as "Perfume" (Cologne's alt)
Spike as "EightTreasures" (Happosai)
Owlowiscious as "BigStick NineAbilities" (not entirely what Tatewaki Kuno translates to, but more amusing, imo)
Derpy Hooves as "Kodachi Kuno" (Kodachi's name isn't translated because Pinkie thought it was stupid to translate that name, above all the others. And because it's Pinkie Pie)

Mmm. The author has something intended, or at least wants to give a distinct impression, but my interpretation of this story:

Rainbow Dash isn't a worn down pony/work horse.á That Dash?á A previous life back when humans were still around or memories from an alternate dimension.

The "real" Rainbow Dash for that story, to me, is exactly the one who's exactly like she is in the cartoon series.

No bum leg, no crapsack world of grey or friends who are being mistreated by callous owners.

Why?á Because while I don't mind morose/downer stories, I hate morose/downer endings.á I want to believe in a better tomorrow.á And frankly, despite whatever the author comes up with after their rewrite, I'll continue to believe my interpretation.

Did anyone else get a little disturbed when Applejack was desperately screaming for someone to tell the truth (to save Applebloom)? Her little sister is in serious physical danger and no one else is willing/able to help? That was just a little too mundane to be taken as a fantasy scary thing. :blink:

Given that they've essentially been trying to tell Applebloom and company that the cutie mark reflects their inner self, the fact that a false cutie mark and/or disease involving fake cutie marks can affect a pony THAT MUCH would definitely be cause for alarm.

In fact, that kind of revelation would give anypony a feeling of body horror.

"Do I like doing <insert activity related to cutie mark> because I genuinely like it? Or do I like it because my Cutie Mark IS FORCING ME TO LIKE IT?"

Plus, she was probably relieved at the end because it was proof that not only was the Cutie Pox curable, but that it wasn't some random epidemic that was going to spread.

Word of a quarantine at the Apple Acres would do all sorts of catastrophic damage to the family, not the least of which would be their farm's reputation.
