All right, I need to get the following out of my system.
Apple Jack: "I saw we dust off, and 'Rainbow Dash' the entire site from orbit." (looks up at her friends shoked expressions) "It's the only way to be sure."

As far as naming RD's attack, I'm found of 'Tacticle Rainboom' myself.

As far as naming RD's attack, I'm found of 'Tacticle Rainboom' myself.
Actually, there's been a few of those.
Two that I can think of have ended up with her not doing much other than scaring the bajeebus out of everyone else, another where it was revealed that it ultimately wasn't her fault for what she'd done, and another was basically a backstory piece that attempted to offer a reason why she had The Stare.

I was just in "Know your memes" looking up the Oribital Frienship cannon when I noticed a post talking about changing the name of the meme to "The Arsenal of Harmony". This name, DESERVES a fanfic. I have no idea what or how this will work but there is ni way we can just let that go.

Okay Luna, Pro-tip. When I can set your entrance to "One-Winged Angel" and it fits, you may want to tone it down.
Seriouly, not bad at all and I hope we'll be seeing more of Pipsquek. The little Colt had the guts to walk up to a mare of darkness and ask for more. Zecora also get's props for being a fantastic story teller.

I'm sorry but after hearing Princess Luna speak the following occured to me.
Silence ruled as the Stallions gaze from behind a metal mask cowed the citizens of Ponyville
"Father!" Celesita and Luna were soon at the stallions side tears misting their eyes.
The father of Equestria's rulers spared a moment to favor them both with a paternal touch "Doom is pleased to see you both." He rumbled

Is it wrong that every time she spoke, I was thinking along the lines of "this is like is Zero had no inside voice" or "I never knew Luna was one of the Abridged Roba family" or "you now, I bet I can make a pic out of one with her eyes glowing captioned 'Assuming Direct Control'"
Also, pony count for this episode, Rarity is missing... why, of all ponies, is Rarity missing? I'd assume she'd be out and about on the costume night. Also, why the fuck is everyone but Twilight out of the mane bunch scared of Luna? They SAW her purified, and they know they have the Elements of Harmony. Pinkie is excusable, but Fluttershy and Applejack aren't.
Also, Chicken!Pinkie is made of win.
Also, Luna's over-dramatic acting really could fit with Kamen Rider Fourze (who is based on the moon, and is space themed)... and now I'm imagining Luna as Fourze.

Actually, Rarity's voice actor also play Princess Luna, I think, so Perhaps they didn't want to overwork her, especially since next weeks episode is all about her and her sister.

That said, Luna was not making a great first impression. I mean when she's by her sisters side she seemed fine. Now however she's swooping in on a chariot designed by Dracula, and speaking in booming voice to all her beloved subjects (who knew she was Bene Gesserit?), while thunderclouds gather and lighteing pierces the sky. Impressive yes, but not a way to make friends.

Besides Twilight, who's a constant, Luna had the most lines in this episode, most of them spent shouting, doing Rarity as well might've been a bit much. And before anyone asks about why shouting makes this so important, there has been a recorded case of aVA passing out (or almost passing out) for shouting for the script too long... the english dub of Dragon Ball Z, Goku going Super Saiyan 3, apparently

As for an in-story explanation for Rarity's absence, lemme see if I can fanwank one up... ah, got it!

Who's the local tailor?
Rarity's probably in her shop passed out from exhaustion, having spent the last several weeks sewing every costume (except for those who handmade their own) to her usual OCD standards of perfection.
Alternately, the streets are full of horrid, crudely handmade creations that it gives her the twitches to look at, so she spends Nightmare Night locked down inside her house, reading romance novels.

Also, Tabitha St. Germain plays Rarity, Photo Finish, Granny Smith, and Luna. Three out of four of those characters are <a href='http://chzbronies.files.wordpress.com/2011/10/yo-dawg.jpg' target='_blank' rel='nofollow'>Large Hams</a> so it's becoming obvious to me that she's the go to girl whenever they need someone who can can chew the scenary.
And darn she's got a talent for it, that's for sure!
