Nope. Yumina becomes her new love interest friend but her family situation isn't addressed. We meet more of Rio's family instead including a bunch of disciples from her dojo (just what the franchise needs: more characters!).

I've also seen some of the raws (and some TV tropes spoilers) and I'm excited about that befriending.

Me as well, i jus hope it doesn't absorb all the budget. Seiglinde VS Einhart needs to be a well-animated epic curbstomp.

I think Tsuzuki is a compulsive character creator. Seriously, this is even worse than Kubo...

He's setting us up for the inevitable Nanoha Vivid fighting game.

So, this Yumina is another character that somehow related to Einhart past?

I really want to see that one sided annihilation in epic animation.

Nope, she's the class representative of Einhart's class. She's not a fighter but is a big martial arts fan (asking the cast for autographs and such). Her specialty is giving massages (Miura gets a happy ending on a school bench).

I can deal with that if Tamsoft develops it, otherwise...

Happy New Year everyone! It\s a bit late for me to say that but anyway, Nanoha 57-61

*So Vivio asked Nanoha to put her through training from hell. Nanoha complies with her cute daughter's request and brings on the pain. Nanoha seems worried at points but like mother like daughter, I suppose. One page even describes the whole thing as "a pleasant family holiday playing catch." Just a mother-daughter bonding moment, Takamachi style.

*Einhart seemed surprised at the fact that Vivio wasn't always the cheery, energetic kid she knew. Also, it basically confirms that what Rio and Corona know of Vivio's origins was explained to them..

*So It was Nove who taught her Sacred Defender, Wonder where she got the idea? Saint's Armor?

*So the black knight armor is actually the color of Olivie's battle garb, and not just an evil color scheme for Vivio.

*Vivio has learned the Takamachi game face, mixing adorable and badass with one look.

*Einhart Connects with a punch, only for Vivio to no sell it, Then  does the quick version of the shin shoryuken.

*Sacred Defender is basically a semi-automatic guard, or more accurately, a pinpoint barrier.

*Can someone explain to me what a variable kick is?

*Lutecia's explanation on the flaws of Sacred Defender if both morbid and funny, especially since its at Chantez' expense.

*The entire match can be summed up as "Notice me Einhart-sempai! I'll beat the crap out of you to do that!" Somebody, possibly Corona, even describes it as "Vivio wants to have a serious chat with Einhart-san." We all know what it's really called.

*Einhart, however, thinks the reason Vivio is beating the crap out of her is because she's angry. Einhart dear, if Vivio were angry at you, you wouldn't be standing right now, because it's not Vivio you have to worry about.

*CROSS COUNTER!!!

*Vivio's backstory will always be one of the most awesome and heartwarming stories in anime for me.

And that's that, sadly we\ll have to wait a bit longer for chapters after that, as well as Vivid anime season 2.

She kicked in one direction, then change it to another.
How does that even work?

Without seeing the chapter (as I'm so very terribly far behind) but having some martial arts experience, I'll go out on a limb and say it could be one of two things:

You could kick at someone at a specific area, perhaps aimed high at the face, but pull back at the last second and kick at a different area while their guard is elsewhere. Such moves can be used to set up grapples and such--I know one particular move where you kick at a person, but pull back and hook your leg around them on the other side, then spin and kick with your other leg to knock them to the ground and trap them with your legs.

Similarly, it could be like Chun-Li's rapid kicks move.

The other possibility is as simple as it sounds--you kick in one direction, then kick in another direction. Such attacks are typically used when you're fighting multiple opponents and you're trying to keep them off you.

Given that this is in a reference to a duel between two combatants, my money's on the first explanation.

I take pulling something like that requires great body balance, since one has to put his weight on one foot then while using the other to pull off what I interpret as a feint attack.

Kinda hard to grasp in a real-life scenario, especially for a guy who prefers punching people (I've recently taken up boxing), but this is manga, so I suppose that can work.

Thanks for the explanations.

Martial arts teaches you balance anyway, so it's not that unbelievable. That feint-grapple move I told you about is something I can still do easily, and I'm years out of practice and not the most graceful creature around.

So I've seen raws and translations up to chapter 72 (volume 14). Ask me anything.

After Einhart gets her proper befriending (which is where I assume the 2nd season of the anime will end), their school has their festival and in the current arc they've gone to Rio's house (she has pet tigers). Typical chinese theme martial arts stuff where they go on a treasure hunt to these caves with trials set up by Nove and Rio's cousin. Nove is forced to go in disguise by being made up to look really girly.
Is rio's grandpa is like pervert old man?

Hmm, chapters 73-75 give us a new characters. Irene Hardin - the heir of the Flower Firebirf Fist and her retune.

Irene proves herself to be pretty badass little girl - she was able to trounce Vivio/Miura tag-team.

Fair bit of warning, at least three sites (mangareader.net, mangahere.com, and mangapanda.com) have incomplete chapters of ViVid chapter 31, ending abruptly on page 24. MangaFox has it, but you know how well that's going to go for those of us who are based in the US. Also, Batoto starts at chapter 50 of the manga, so that's a woefully epic fuck-up.

got it, Dragon.

Now, guys, there are something in vivid universe confuse me, in the latest translated chapter ( i think 63), Ix mentioned that she knew ingvalt or at least heard of him in the past. From reading the wiki, i get that Ix was born far in the past, 1 century maybe, not important, what important is in the far past. She also not from balkan, i forgot what kingdom she was from.

Now, how the hell she knew a guy from a distant place in the time where there was no wide communication system exist yet ( ingvalt use letters with olivie) and from a time far from ingvalt and olivie era? cause someone mentioned to me that ingvalt and olivie was from the previous 100 years while the initial idea i had is they were from further time than that.

Ixpellia is effectively immortal, and wakes up at various time periods. Given her nature, and the nature of what she creates, she'd be seen as a valuable military asset, so many a kingdom would want to attempt to control her. So it wouldn't surprise me if a kingdom during Olivie and Klaus' time took her into their custody.

question is did she was awake at that time? Her power need her to wake up to activate it,right?

Who wouldn't know who Olivie and Klaus were during the Belkan Wars? Olivie is "The Queen Second To None In Combat"  and effectively the strongest mage of her time. Klaus is just famous enough that bandits recognize him, and later gained a reputation of being a warrior as strong as a thousand men..

I guess...it is. Watching too much of cinema sins video make me too much critical on details.

Anyway, Dragon, thanks for the head up about vivid chapter 31. I just knew how Victoria defeat shante/chante.

God, Victoria really savage in her fighting style. Literally grabbing people head and smash them against the ground.
