Nanoha Vivid Discussion

Remember that Belka was an Empire, and that "Sankt Kaiser" translates into "Saint Emperor." Chances are that other Belkan rulers ruled underneath the imperial family of the Sankt Kaiser. It's also possible that Shutra and other others were not actually part of Belka proper, and were political rivals against the Belkan Empire. We just don't really know given the lack of information. Information we'll hopefully be getting soon, if the latest storyline is any indication.

Well we'll have to wait and see. Personally I have a feeling that we are dealing with Romance of Three Kingdoms kind of thing with several different kings fighting over land and power...

Well... [counts out on his fingers] we have martial arts, lots of cute girls, reincarnations of ancient kings and heroes, we just kinda lack boobs on some girls and rape attempts (for which I'm grateful)

Yes but that's the Church, official stuff and all but Vivio just Isn't Olive. Yes she is technically a Sankt Kaiser, but there is no more Belka meaning she is a King without Kingdom. Also... I don't think Sankt Kaisers are remembered all that fondly. They were part of the reason for the war which destroyed billions of lives...
And yet people worship her in what is stated to be one of the greatest religions in the multiverse. Sankt Kaiser Olivie is remembered very fondly.

Which then leads us to the inner workings of religion: If the church acknowledges her as official, that means religious people have an official object of veneration. There is no way in hell that wouldn't lead to many, many followers of the church venerating Vivio.

But we do have the exploding clothes part.

You should watch the Gears of Destiny playthroughs. More Einhart there.

A thought occurred to me regarding everyone ignoring the fact that Vivio is a clone of Sankt Kaiser.

The thing is that perhaps they just don't care because they know she isn't Sankt Kaiser?

(Details)

The bottom line is, Vivio is NOT Sankt Kaiser. She is her own person who just happens to share the DNA with Sankt Kaiser Olive.
You know, this also makes a lot of sense, much more than my idea.

There's a theory that a clone's personality will be very different from its original. The prime example in the MGLN universe is non other than Fate, a clone of Alicia and also given her memories. Precia rejected her because despite all her efforts, her Alicia-clone did not turn out to be her beloved daughter. Still, she grew up to be her own person, and nobody that knows her origins ever refers to her as Alicia.

Vivio being considered as Saint Olivie kind of breaks the lesson the franchise has presented for several seasons now. Okay, she's Olivie's clone, the Saint Church recognizes her as Olivie's clone, but like Andarion said, she's not Olivie herself. She was not even treated to the same memory transfer that her Fate-mama had, so she can't even claim to have Olivie's memories, unlike Fate, who does have Alicia's memories.

It is probably more proper for the Saint Church to simply refer to her as the next Saint Kaiser, rather than Saint Olivie's second coming.

It's not like that's going to change anything for us. After all, we're so far behind the recent chapters we won't even notice if the series went on hiatus starting now.

It's still sad though.

Raiser's still releasing chapters, so a hiatus like this only means we'll get caught up sooner.

Hope so xD

Still i want to be a step ahead and getting new previews each month so it is a bit sad for me when a hiatus spoils my monthly fun xDU

They're probably brushing up on the storylines for Vivid and Force, so hiatuses like this sparks some glimmer of hope.

I guess this gives me time to rebuild my anime library. My external HDD broke and took all of my anime with it. Also, I got involved in a bus accident, which is the reason why my HDD broke in the first place.

Hey, does anyone know where to read the raws from 46? The site I usually go to stopped updating for some reasons.

New chapter is out...

This is the obligatory angst after first loss chapter.

Okay... now we wait for the Sieg's epic ass kicking of Einhart chapter.

In other news, Micaiah X Nove is now on the table.

Poor Yuuno, his library got swarmed by overexcited lolis. A librarian's nightmare. But I guess he looked alright about it, what a good sport.

Also, that Infinity Library is a goddamn zero-gravity dungeon.

Well, one of those overexcited lolis is a certified librarian herself so I don't think he's too worried...

I think there were only four lolis there, three of which are certified IL librarians (or secretly members of the YS fan club.). The rest are hot chicks.

That voice sounded very familiar.

After checking it out, she has the same VA as Nodoka Miyazaki in Negima. The VA is Mamiko Noto

Well, there *IS* the fact that Nanoha developed magic compression on her own with help from Raising Heart to create the SLB, which is kind of rare, seeing as only Nanoha and Teana have that move and Muira developed her own version, to the shock of Nanoha, so, that's pretty rare.
Going to this topic. If accumulatory magic causes extreme stress to the caster, then why is Miura's legs still working? Shouldn't they be broken (or at least really really hurting) after a few Sword Draws, considering the fact that Miura is a rookie mage. Determination aside, she shouldn't be able to walk after a match since unlike SLB, she focuses her magic on her legs and makes the magic EXPLODE upon enemy contact.

And one other thing, there's this talk about Fate losing to Erio in the mock battle as a testament to... I don't know, I forgot. Anyway, Fate lost to Erio because she was in her str... er I mean Sonic Form, so her defenses are basically paper-thin. Erio, on the other hand, had basically the same attack power, so when his long spear hit Fate, she was done for (because my theory is that Erio wanted to defeat Fate by modesty). Fate had already lost before Nanoha and Teana unleashed Armageddon and vaporized the rest of the clothes.

As i said, Erio saw the opportunity and took it, he's about the only one able to catch up with Fate's reaction speed so he indeed deserves some merit.

Not that kind of physical stress. Also Nanoha's stress was caused by circumstances; her first Starlight Breaker was a massive amount of power for a nine-year-old girl. Her doing it again only a little while later while having her Linker Core drained put even more stress on her. That followed by the tactics and heavy use of magic she used during her fight with the Book of Darkness, including yet another massive Starlight Breaker...

It causes extreme stress when dealing with levels of magic vastly exceeding the user. Think of it as trying to fill a tank beyond capacity, the tank can only take so much before bursting.

Nanoha did just that. She was at the time a AAA-rank mage, but kept throwing out S+-rank power Starlight Breakers, chugging down a full clip of cartridges each time she did so. Miura most likely kept it down much closer to her level.

As a testament to Erio's improvement in my opinion. Kid's a mean fighter in his own right, lack of screentime notwithstanding. AA-rank at least post StrikerS, and Vivid has a few years on top of that.

The way I figured it, the stress is caused by Nanoha trying to resist the recoil of shooting a wave motion gun, which obviously requires a lot of physical and magical effort.

Miura's is different. Even at lowered levels, there's still the fact that her attack is a highly explosive kick. An empowered kick like that should at least fracture some bones of the user (even in simulated combat) because of the sheer destructiveness of the attack. Hell, Corona's technique seemed more dangerous, as it forcibly moves her body, but as demonstrated, the pain and stress of using the technique was gradual.

Okay, sure, she's got Shamal on her side, but at the very least, Miura should be standing on one leg after using Sword Draw.

Mages are physically stronger than non-mages in the Nanohaverse. So Nanoha's stress and strain was caused by the sheer level of the Breaker-type magic she was using, which was way beyond Miura's. Nanoha's Breaker-type magic was on the level of wiping out cities. Miura's... decidedly less.

Nanoha and Fate should get turned into jelly everytime they are slammed through multiple walls. They aren't. Why?

Magic! :)

Barriers, yeah, I know. But it should be fairly apparent that one can strengthen a limb with magic. Despite all the explanations of stuff we have gotten, we have to realize it is still magic, which by it's nature, still has nebulous effects, and doesn't work quite according to physics. In short, in this instance, Hoki, I think you're overthinking it. I can easily see Miura's kick as being a magic-enhanced attack, using not only magic for the destructive power, but enough magic to keep her limb intact, too.

If you really wanted to overthink it, then we have to analyze why our legs would fracture if we kicked something hard enough. It's because we can't transfer enough of the kinetic energy to the target, thus some of that recoils and is absorbed by our leg. What if Miura's spell transferred most of that kinetic energy elsewhere? It's essentially what barriers do already. It's why Fate isn't rendered into blood pudding when Signum knocks her through several floors of a building.
