I admit, I'm guilty of some of the things mentioned in this thread when writing (Hinata stuttering is one) I'm in the process of fixing up my current stories with them in there. It was a fault of mine for reading too many badly portrayed Hinata stories before I started writing for the Naruto fandom. I aim to correct that mistake.
I also did the "kit" thing too, but the rewrite of the story I did that in doesn't have it anymore.
I'm also guilty of making the villagers call out "DEMON!" in the stories without repercussions in the same chapter. I plan to remedy that though in the story I used it in and also to never use it again. I'm also guilty of pushing Naruto and Hinata together a little bit too fast in my story too, but not as a couple yet. They're just friends right but the fact's there. I'll admit, I based that scene off something that happened to me IRL. Shouldn't have done that perhaps.
There's probably some other stuff too but again, I aim to fix those.
Now, onto stuff about this thread:
1. Naruto x Harem. Those tip me off. When I see it, I don't bother clicking the story because 98% of the time, the story will be crap and stupid. Also, I don't like harems. Most of the time, the women are overly 'sexualized' when they really aren't. The same can be said about reverse harems, although those are rare in Naruto fanfiction. (As far as I'm aware/have seen)
2. "Hinata with DD cup size". Are you serious? I can somewhat tell this is a guy who has very inappropriate dreams about the character herself and wish she had that size. Do these people really believe that? A female of Hinata's height with a chest that big would have, realistically, a bad back. In fact, reduction size would be recommended because it would be a terrible strain on the female's back. Now, I know Naruto is fictional and fictional things tend to overexaggerate.
But, come on. Even I wouldn't want that big of a size, even if it was to impress a guy I had a crush on or whatever.
That really annoys me though.
3. Bashing. Pretty much what everyone said about this topic.
4. Villagers as mobs. Like no.
5. Dark!Naruto.
6. Naruto hating either Kushina or Minato or both. I can technically understand that. Maybe he can hate them at the start because, realistically speaking, I'd be pretty mad if my parents did even half of what those two did. But later, understanding why and, in layman's terms, "accept and love them anyway." By the way, I love Kushina and Minato; they're some of my favorite characters.
7. Spelling Konoha as "Kohana".
8. Juubi!Naruto / Rinnegan!Naruto. These two are usually interchangeable or fall together in the same story. Ha-ha-ha--no. No thank you.
9. Demon/Demonic Techniques.
10. The "Kyubi being the reason to go back in time". These are super overused. A few times I liked it, now it's just "meh".
11. Multi-pairings. Would any of you like to share your wife/woman with another man? How about you ladies? Would you share your husband/man with another woman? The answer to that, 80-90% of the time would probably be a flat out no.
12. Changing Naruto's attitude/clothes overnight after the Mizuki fight or Wave Mission. This includes the infamous "trenchcoat", "ANBU style pants", "Sword", "hair suddenly has red streaks in it", etc.
13. Unreasonable Sasuke depiction. 95% of fanfiction have Sasuke being a jerk. Like an unredeemable jerk. I understand he is one at first, but really? They take it over the bridge far too many times. Nobody understands the relationship Naruto has for Sasuke, Not in a gay way either. If I'm correct, Sasuke acknowledged Naruto at one point before they were genin and before the massacre. With that, I believe it inspired Naruto to get better. Then post-massacre, Sasuke was jerk-ish and anti-social for the most part because of what happened. His goals and aims have changed.
The point is, Naruto thinks Sasuke as a best friend. No matter what they do, even if they do something horrendously terrible that others stop believing in them, you'd want to keep trying. Because they're your best friend. The bond is there--can't get rid of it no matter how much you or they try. I understand Sasuke takes the "do something terrible" thing pretty far, but Naruto didn't quit on him.
He believed and truly got his friend back in the end and Sasuke even asked him "Why did you keep trying?" (Not in those same words)
TL;DR version: People who write Sasuke incorrectly don't understand the significance of his and Naruto's friendship. They don't bother trying to dissect it and utterly believe "he's not redeemable." They put Sasuke in a realistic point of view rather than look at the material and character where they COME from. He's fictional. So of course he's not redeemable by the writer's or reader's standards. You're comparing the guy to real-world terms and they shouldn't!
It makes me laugh, really. Well, giggle a little.
