I second that.
A Drop of Poison is an enjoyable read to me. The only complaints I've seen about the story is when someone doesn't like training montages and deep discussions or dissertations on how the world or powers work.
Thank you.
I will check it out. I'm assuming from the summary that one is a rec for the academy thing then? I just took a look at the fics latest chapter, and it starts with "Prank Dy 216". Does that mean the whole thing with the academy corruption still didn't come out? That's disappointing. But on the other hand, if it contains worldbuilding, as Ordieth says, then it can only be an awesome story. I have yet to find a fic that is not a good or even great one when the author bothers to have detailed worldbuilding, so I'm looking forward to reading it.
Any other recs? Especially for the Kakashi thing?
There is a difference between detailed and good worldbuilding, though. PerfectLionheart is definitelly
not a rec, he not only worldbuilds more than writes the story, sometimes he releases chapters of worldbuilding just to spite readers that ask for less, and despite good grammar and some good ideas sometimes the story quickly verges into bad territory.
Well, yeah. Can't argue against
that one. Then again, Lionheart is one of those fanfic writers whose existence I've always been able to successfully forget until someone reminds me again.
But generally badfic writers can't be bothered with worldbuilding, so it's mere existence is a better measuring stick for quality than most others.

I don't specifically recall Kakashi's relationship with Naruto in A Drop of Poison, but I believe it isn't friendly. Neutral at best. But the corruption in the academy is a huge issue in A Drop of Poison, and it is being addressed within the plot, so look forward to that.
The only ones I can recall off hand (whose names I cannot immediately remember) where Kakashi and Naruto have a hostile relationship are rather short and incomplete.
Yeah, I've already started reading that fic, and it's looking so great. I
am really looking forward to the resolution of that situation. The fallout of that one could potentially be world changing. Hope the author won't write himself into a corner he can't get out, though. Because the in-story implications here are
huuuuge.
Well, sadly, hostile Kaka-Naru relationship in a fanfic is usually a badfic territory.
Nevertheless, the hope was there for me that maybe there are a few good ones. (But if "incomplete" doesn't mean abandoned years and years and many a canon sharkjumps ago, I wouldn't mind having them recced.)
Still. Thanks, guys.
