Since Negi is a mage... what would happen if his father actually took part in the Holy Grail War?
... and what would happen if Negi found himself neck deep in another one?
And what if, just for some random idea of chance, all the Servants this time around were famous females, including everyone's favorite Saber, Rider and Mage?
Course.. who would be good for a female Berserker, Lancer, Archer and Assassin? For Archer, maybe a Robyn Hood instead of Robin Hood? *shrugs*

Assassin: a female Musashi Miyamoto or an ancestor of Motoko and Tsuruko Aoyama.

Lancer: ... you lost me. Other than the heroes from the Irish mythologies, there aren't many famous lancers.

A naginata (???? or ??) is a pole weapon that was traditionally used in Japan by members of the samurai class. It has become associated with women and in modern Japan it is studied by women more than men.
Famous women who used it: Lady Hangaku (or Hangaku Gozen, if you go by Japanese terminology), Lady Tomoe (Tomoe Gozen), Nakano Takeko (I think Nakano is the surname), Matsudaira Teru (Matsudaira is the surname. She was often protected by Nakano's infantry).

Anyway, in my honest opinion, the only thing that made Kanako interesting was her rather over-the-top love for her brother. Her martial arts and master-of-disguise capabilities weren't interesting in themselves...it was what they achieved that made them unique and how she used them as a means to her own ends.
Having her be Negi's assistant teacher...well...unless she's over-the-top in love with Negi as well....hmmm...I don't think I can see how her being there would make much of a difference. Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying it won't work. It's just that there would have to be a really powerful plot to move this story anywhere.
...though I find the image of her disguising herself as Kanako, KuFei, the Narutaki twins, and Chao really amusing... :snigger: :rofl: Especially Chao during the school festival :rofl: :rofl:

She could still be in love with Keitaro, and just obsessing over Keitaro all the time when she isn't at helping. Maybe she starts blackmails Negi into helping her with Keitaro? Maybe she does the same for some of the other students, all without telling them she is Keitaro's sister.

How about we go an alternate route? To preserve both fandoms, lets say Keitaro is the homeroom teacher for high school. Remember the dodgeball game way back in the first volume? Methinks it would go quite a bit differently with, say, Keitaro heading the class.
Why is this? One, you could throw Kanako in. Or Shinobu/Su, or Sarah...or use some plot-device to get them all in it together.

Shinobu meets Satsuki...
You know, characters that correlate to their own personalities/skills.
Anyways, back to the dodgeball thing. If Su and Shinobu were in the class...I do believe a dodgeball launcher would be the least of the worries for 2-A.

Maybe, but I think she wouldn't be all that interested in Negi. After all, her Oniichan is right there. The paedophile chick would have to promise her something significant, and even then, she might not agree, if there was a high chance of Keitaro being disappointed in her. Shotacons would probably give him the creeps.

Actually Charon, I can think of a fun solution for that!
Like, say...Ayaka needs tutoring for something, and Negi is busy with the baka rangers...so the headmaster sends her to Keitaro for private tutoring. This, of course, irks Kanako, because another girl is now spending a lot of free time with HER brother.
But Ayaka wants Negi, and cuts a deal with Kanako for help. This would be a two-way partnership, Ayaka trying to help Kanako (with a lot of money, of course) and Kanako helping Ayaka, with her trademark disguise & bond techniques. :lol:

A random idea I had.
What if, instead of a mage, Negi were just a normal 10 years old kid. A genious, but still a simple boy. Sure, he is the son if the Thousand Master, and knows about magic and all that. But, somehow, he never shows any talent for it. He studied when he was a kid, but couldn't perform even the most simple of the spells. He has his father staff only as his gift. But despite this, he manages to graduate from <insert famous university here>, and is sent him to Mahora as an English teacher, hoping that being there, he could develop any magical potential he could have.
... now that I think about it, this could turn into something like Pani Poni Dash. With Chamo as Mesousa.

I mean I know what your aiming for and it's interesting but Negi would be dead without magic. At the very least Evangeline would have done something unspeakable to him (unless you have her get softhearted before the final blow.) Not to mention the demons, the osaka trip with Fate, or Chao.
no magic also cuts down a lot of the hijinks, no pactios, and such. It would turn into a traditional school romance with an underlying magic theme. Including the cliche that the main male is the weakest surrounded by powerful woman (most magical harems the male has no powers).

However, I can see a gem in Alan's idea, albeit differently. We already know Negi can seal his magic off from himself, what if he were forced to do it? Say during the Herrman fight, the overload becomes more than his body can handle, and the backlash is enough his body faces deterioration...
Thus, again the magic-sealing bands come out, only this time without a definite set of time, and is only to be released in times of emergency...and ONLY in those times.
Basically, his body would need to handle the overflow of magic that he wasn't able to control properly, so he would have to train to overcome it. Cue physical training with female of your choice. We've all seen the Ku Fei route...so why not go more magically experienced? Why not have him trained by Mana? Setsuna?

An idea that came to me on how to do a Negi/Chao fic, alright we all know that Chao is considered something of a trouble child, and it has been shown that no one cares about Negi living in the dorms. So Negi gets assigned to Chao's dorm as a way of keeping an eye on her, because of this Chao takes the place of Asuna in many ways, including becoming the first pactio partner. There is also the fact that Chao is the only one who knows that they are relatives, meaning that Chamo would try to set them up for his own plans.
Of course, Chao would try to use this to her advantage, but that would be expected.

(If she's not a direct descendant, it can be even closer. He could be her great uncle, for instant, and that'd be the same, too.)
