Evangelion Neon Genesis Eidolon

I'm not sure about that, but I'll put it on the list of possibilities. Daredevil sounds a little too much like Asuka, so it'd need to be for different reasons.

As for Daniel Oyelowo... If it comes up in the story, then sure, but I'm not sure where I could fit it into regular dialogue, you know?

I'm sure others will come with some better suggestions, but it doesn't hurt to come with your own even if they aren't any good.

Well it could be part of a background flashback that explains how Daniel became a professional obsessed with perfectionism and a firm believer in strict principles for everyone without any exceptions. Oyelowo could chastise Asuka for behaving like brat, and tell her that her egocentric arrogance and hostility makes her a failure as a mecha pilot, and quip that with how she acts it's no wonder that many Japanese could become hostile to Eurasians and that the same goes for all troublemaking individuals from non-ethnic groups who are in Japan.

True.

Well, Daniel doesn't really think that much about that kind of stuff. He'd see Asuka as a brat because of her upbringing and training, less so because of her ethnicity. I get what you're saying but Daniel is more concerned with people than that sort of thing.

Another thing I need is a Machiavellian CEO of Ethon Industries...

What about having the CEO being an ex-SEELE executive/henchman who decided to strike out on his own after faking his death and undergoing plastic surgery, taking the identity of a deceased businessman using his identity to become head of Ethon Industries.

Due to his former SEELE affiliations he has knowledge of some of the organizations secrets, but not the deepest ones due to him not being one of the leadership. He could also have tried to usurp one of the leadership seats as well as trying to worm his way into Kiel's confidence to strengthen and secure this attempt, but that his subsequent failure caused him to fake his death.

Name: Thomas Fuchsberger, a former German citizen
Age: 52

New Identity: Walther Kane, an American citizen.
Age: 45

Language proficiency: German (he's German after all), English, Japanese, Latin, Mandarin.

Can read and write German and English without much trouble. Can read a bit Kanji/Hanzi, Hiragana, but proficient enough in reading and writing Latin.

As Thomas Fuchsberger: A graduate of Heidelberg with pretty much average marks, but his support for radical philosophies, theories and occultism drew SEELE's attention who then offered to recruit him as an underling. Due to his love for reading Nicollo Machiavelli and adaptability for applying Machiavellian advice to practical use in the modern age he managed to rise in ranks untill his lust for more power and influence made him try to usurp one of the leaders.

Stationed at GEHIRN as a SEELE mole in Tokyo 3 before it's re-organization into NERV, he instead of being smitten with Yui Ikari like most men did, became resentful of her before being restationed in another workplace where his skills could be put to better use. Witnesses stated that it seemed that he held Fuyutsuki in high contempt, but showed a grudging respect for Gendo Ikari, puzzling many. He also seemed to hold Naoko Akagi in higher esteem than Yui due to his admiration of her pioneering skills in artificial intelligence development.

His parents were Joseph and Anna Fuchsberger, a well-to-do middle-class German family from Bayern who raised him, without having any real family problems, until an enstranged uncle from his father's side of the family (in reality a minor SEELE henchman) confided in him the few scraps of hidden secrets he knew, awakening in young Thomas an urge to discover knowledge no matter how obscure or unbelievable it might be.

Taking up the identity of the deceased businessman Walther Kane, who graduated from a non-priviliged university, but managed to do pretty well for himself in business-life, Thomas has familiarized himself with the Kane family and has grown rather fond of the real Kane's parents and woul send hitmen without batting an eyelash against those who bring harm to his real parents and the parents of Kane, even though he may deem them expendable if needed. Only a few priviliged know that the real Walther committed suicide due to depression over the discovery infidelity of his fiancee and that earlier reports show that during his university years he suffered from depression and low self-esteem as a result of personal tragedies and betrayals. Thomas has through intensive training managed to do away with his German accent when speaking English and mimicks Walther's New England accent pretty well.

Currently he has a more tighter reign on his lust for power, knowing how this could lead to catastrophic mistakes. Even so he's still ambitious to earn himself a seat in the SEELE committee one way or another.

One secret project he's funding is the development of a biological weapon with the purpose of either disabling or destroying Evangelion and Eidolon by destroying their immune systems without affecting humans. While many potent biological agents have been tested, none of them are stable enough to risk using openly. The cover story for this is that Ethan Industries are funding the process of creating a cure for various new diseases that appeared in the aftermath of Second Impact.

Hrm, I just thought of something. What about a pilot based on Fox Mulder? It'd be even freakier in a world where the crazy conspiracy nuts are RIGHT, like Eva.

Make him smart, like crazy smart. Make him a high school kid that actually gets my above rant about theoretical mathematics and the end of the universe. Or he could be Ritsuko's counterpart with one of the agencies. He winds up playing the Agent Mulder to Ritsuko's Scully. Either way, I'd still love to see the theoretical aspects brought up.

Don't worry, I can provide my copy of "Theoretical Physics and Mathematics for Dummies" to you. Or just answer questions.

I still don't understand which one is a superrior combatant - evangelion or eidolon? Because if their capabilities are about even, and eidolons are three times or so cheaper and their pilots are saner, wouldn't it make evas obsolete? How do you compare them - evas are battleships and eidolons are battlecruisers or heavy cruisers? Are eidolons on the same level as evas or step below them?

Another thing - as the saying goes, with great power comes great insanity (and with great insanity comes great power). Eva kids are all severely damaged. While it would be nice for them to deal with more adjusted children-pilots, i personaly would like to see Shinji, Asuka and Rei kick newcomers asses, forcing eidolons to gang up to stand a chance, and even then - barelly.

Well, Eidolons are, in general, smaller and more organic than Evangelions, so they have a comparative reach and strength disadvantage, and are more prone to going berserk. Also, they have less versatility. For instance, ABMU-03 and -04 are too lightly built to handle weapons like positron rifles. Oblivion's biggest advantage is it's speed, Prometheus's is it's agility. Heavy weapons would remove those advantages.

ABMU-02, Nemesis, is more versatile, but unless it's in a berserker mode, heavy weapons also slow it down severely. It has a special carriage backpack system to allow it to carry multiple heavy weapons and engage at range, but in order to actually fight effectively at close range, it needs to expend it's ammo and ditch the backpack. It could go berserker (one of the reasons Constance is a good pilot is because she has a fair amount of control when her Eidolon goes berserk), but it would result in the destruction of it's weapons carriage. ABMU-05, Morningstar, only uses it's claws, teeth, wings and AT Field as weapons because anything more would just be an impediment to it's movement. ABMU-06, Perun, has strength approaching that of the Evangelions, but would have to ditch all of it's armor in order to match their speed.

In other words, the Evangelions are much bigger, stronger, and more versatile than the Eidolons on a per unit basis, basically battleships. However, the Eidolons are much cheaper, much less labor and maintenance intensive, and can be built in larger numbers for a variety of roles-Essentially, they are cruisers.

However, even a cruiser can take out a battleship with the right crew, right weapons and right tactics. And a Berserking or a Rogue Eidolon is just as dangerous as an Evangelion.

Well, I figure that the "Agent Mulder" would be better off as an adult. He'd have more experience to draw from. And that'd make him a much better source of exposition. And he'd be able to explain a few things that are a "little too crazy" for Ritsuko's explanations.

Henry Chung: Age 31. Fourth generation Chinese American. Parents died in the chaos following Second Impact when he was 17. At age 19, he was accepted into UCLA where he studied parapsychology, mathematics, and criminology with degrees in the latter two. He has a "mind for the sciences" according to some of his friends and professors and has a "rather startling tendency to be right." Despite his stated belief in the paranormal and extraordinary, he is a staunch atheist. As such, he absolutely refuses to call the beasts that attack Tokyo 3 "Angels" or "Messengers." He refers to them, rather, as monsters or, in the spirit of their attacking only Tokyo, "kaiju." He gets a lot of flack for calling them "kaiju." Currently, he works for the Secret Service. He is in charge of protecting the North American Eidolon pilots, at least officially. In reality, his job is to covertly investigate Nerv and Seele for evidence linking them to the events of Second Impact. As such, he finds Misato of VERY great interest, being that she's the only living eyewitness to the events of the Katsuragi Expedition.

And that's what I've come up with in the past hour or so. Just bare facts so far. But ask me again and I might be able to come up with some better details. Oh, and I was supposed to come up with a pilot. Well, this one didn't turn out so well. Mulder is always better when he's got experience and history behind him. The Chinese American thing...well...I just got this picture of him looking like a friend of mine who happens to be Chinese American, third gen. I'll keep thinking.

I still say you should use my scientist, Elijah. 'cause everything is better with L. And yes, I did base him on L.

Is there anything else you want me to expand on? Like attempting a more in-depth background of my CEO suggestion?

That would help. Also, I still need a pilot...

Personally, I think a pilot based on Zaraki Kenpachi would be most interesting. Then again, I always think ANYTHING with more Kenpachi is interesting. 'Cause Kenpachi is awesome that way.

Make him a former street urchin that was picked up and put into military school. He has a SERIOUS chip on his shoulder and does not like it when people look down on him. He loves to fight. And he loves having people to fight. Basically, beating him in a fair fight is the quickest and...well least painful way to make a friend out of him. So his personality is somewhere between Urameshi Yusuke and Zarake Kenpachi. And before you ask, yes he is hard to control. But he's got the sheer brute willpower to manhandle the Eidolon's berserk state without fail. The name can change depending on where he was needed. Let's see. It was the Russian pilot right? Michael Sokolov sounds good then.

Well, David is our crazy reckless badass character. Two of them on the same team would just make things insane. Still, a few rogue Eidolons and Eidolon-based mecha will use pilots, so I'll save Michael Sokolov for something else.

Still leaves us without a pilot though. Though I like both Chung and Elijah. However, I think he works best as the head scientist for Ethon Industries, and thus I'll give him a foil in the form of Nathan Parsons-A slightly neurotic, snarky, and ingenious civilian scientist who works directly with the military on the Eidolons themselves.

Well, young Mr. Sokolov can sit in the sidelines then.

How about a more...proud and noble persona? Hrm?

Johan Demetri Ivanov Jr.: Age 14. Son of Russian MMA champion Johan Ivanov Sr. His father trained him from a young age in the martial arts. He taught control of his emotions and his body. He almost always under reacts, as a result. And he has very good control of when he berserks. But his control slips once he's berserk. But he's coming off as a little bland.

Maybe, instead you could use someone who's more...goofy. I'd love to see Osaka in an Eidolon. ...Nah! But someone with a sense of humor would be lovely. I'll keep thinking.

Edit: Oh no! Did I break Andrew again?

The main dilemma is that the most logical choice for ABMU-06 would be someone proficient in brawling and close combat but the pilot must also be mentally stable to act as a foil to the Evangelion pilots who're basket cases in comparison.

What about a Gourry Gabriev-like character.

P.S. I'm trying to edit my CEO post every time I get some ideas.

I've seen your edits, they're very good. Also, it might give us a means for him to relate to Ritsuko and allow for the construction of a relationship between the two. I'm leery of romance but it can be done well.

Gourry Garbiev?

Also: I'm working on a bio for the four established Eidolon pilots, as well as their main commanding officer (Lt. Colonel Elizabeth Cutler) and the head scientist of the Eidolon Program (Dr. Nathan Parsons). However, I'm open to ideas about any of these characters.

Except for the fact that Ritsuko loathed her mother as a person, but admired her as a scientist and pioneer in AI, but I think that Fuchsberger can be sympathetic about Ritsuko wanting to step out of her mother's shadow and offer his services as a sponsor and patron for Dr. Akagi's own projects, like developing a giant portable MASER cannon using the schematics and blueprints of the field model positron rifle as a template or make enhanced mass-produced versions of the improvised shield (the underside of a space shuttle with electromagnetic coating) which was used to block the energy blast of the 5th Angel.

Well poor Gourry Gabriev is the most underrated character in the Slayers universe compared to the magic-users and I thought a simple-minded nice guy based on him would make an interesting pilot.

Let's if the rest of us frequenting this thread can think of something.

Well, I thought that a noble martial artist/technical pacifist would be interesting as well. I'm just glad I didn't break your streak, Talon.

Hey, it is. Parsons can be the head of the military scientists, but he needs a foil, and I think your character would work nicely for that.

For some reason I feel like seeing parallells to the crazy self-proclaimed pacifist and martial artist Prince Philionel from the Slayers Universe, who despite loudly procaliming being a pacificst can clobber most non head honcho goons.

Argh... One of the major problems I have with writing this story... Aside from my easily distracted nature, RL, and other stories I'm writing... Is that I'm not sure how to integrate Evangelion with Eidolon and how the sides interact. Suggestions and brainstorming for how to do this would be appreciated.

I mean, if I got enough interest I could just turn it into an RPG. I know, I know, I leave those unfinished too but if enough people pestered me and my partners in the project didn't pull out then it could keep going.

I have a model for Johan, Alex Louis Armstrong. After all, this archetype HAS BEEN PASSED DOWN IN THE ARMSTRONG FAMILY FOR GENERATIONS!

So yeah, think his personality with a less over the top catchphrase. Maybe even keep the same sentiment.

Is the offer to insert all this stuff into Transformers: The Angel Battles still open?
